Sam is a great guy. We walked in to his Car lot on Memorial day to look at a convertible. Sam told us that he was closed and he was just catching up on some paperwork, then he spent at least an hour with us explaining the features of the car, Sam then took us on a nice long test drive to get a good feel for the car top, up top down on the highway and around town. After the test drive and some more talk and consideration we brought the car, and Sam delivered to our house the next Monday with a fresh oil change and full tank of gas. we could not be happier with our purchase, and will definitely be looking to Sam again when we have need of another car.

UPDATE:I have tried to give Sam the benefit of the doubt but I can no longer do so. I purchased the car in November and it had only been a month before I had problems.Before I took Sam the car to get the radio put in my father had found that the steering fluid had a leak and the windshield wiper container had a hole, Sam worked with us to fix this, but I felt like it should not have been missed in the original inspection.Just after I got my car fixed my ABS light came on, I was frustrated that this had happened, and I cannot not blame Sam for this, but my issue is that I had a hard time getting it fixed. He repeatedly told me I could come in any time I wanted. He did not ask for a warning, but I decided it would be a good idea to at least let him know I was coming, to which I am glad I did because both times I planned to go out he was not there and at an auction. The first time was only with 2 hours notice, the second was 24 hours notice. Clearly the day I was available was a day he had auctions, but if he had not stated anytime I would not be as upset. Finally I decided to try a different day and it happened to be too cold because it was December, had the first two weeks worked out we never would have had this problem. At this point I had given up due to the holidays and snow I decided to wait. Eventually life got the best of me and I was planning to contact him in February but I did not.At the end of February my dad changed the oil on the car and it seemed to be much worse off than it should have been based on the mileage and time that Sam had told us the oil had been done. At this point my car had been making some noise and had an exhaust smell when I used the vents. Turns out that the exhaust pipe had broken. This could have been missed and is not why I am upset, but in the process of going to someone we trust the fix this I had asked them to look into the ABS sensor. Turns out the radio was installed incorrectly and was using too much voltage, which meant they could not diagnose the problem, my dashboard warning lights may not be working correctly, AND it could FAIL emissions in this condition!My father has spoken to Sam and asked that he help us pay to fix it and he has insisted that he did not install the radio wrong. He offered to have them look at the radio again, but I do not trust them to do so.Sam is a nice man and the car is in good condition for its age. I am just frustrated by the fact that he insisted he is all about safety and he originally gives me an unsafe car with a leaking power steering fluid that supposedly passed a 20 something point inspection, then takes multiple weeks to set up a time to fix my ABS, (which I eventually gave up on) and leaves me at risk of failing an emissions test or not knowing if my car has a problem because the radio is using too much voltage which could interfere with my dashboard warning lights. Three strikes and I am done.Original Review:Sam is wonderful. My father and I were looking for a car for a few days and were starting to give up until we found Advantage Car Group. We were initially upset because the car we wanted had already sold, but Sam told us he had just gotten another one that was a few model years newer. He was so open and honest upfront that we knew he really cared about his cars and the people he sold them to. We pretty much decided we wanted to deal with him and we hadnt even seen the car. Service is absolutely horrible in Hodgkins. They tried to reattach the rear defroster tab to allow the defroster to work properly. $126.00 paid after waiting for over 5 hours. It fell off within one day. Brought it back after no loaner was going to be given so I can go to work. Came in a second time, still couldnt make the repair. Then would not refund the $126 after the job did not get done correctly. I went to a local auto parts store and spent less than $13.00. VOILA guess what. The tab is still on the glass and everything works just fine. Look people, you are paying $160.00 an hour for labor cost at this facility, $160.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We drove 5 hours on a Saturday afternoon to see the car that we liked and Sam made it possible for us to bring the car home the following Monday. He is very accommodating and honest unlike some dealership where we had been. As he promised, he sent us a replacement head rest that was missing in the car. Sam is a nice guy but before you sign any papers, make sure you have checked everything including 2 keyless remote control, complete headrests, and others. I have been through so many car dealings that left a bad taste in my mouth. That is NOT how this went down at all. I live 4.5 hours away and communicated with Sam completely through email. For a week and a half and 80+ emails, he answered every single question that arose, not to mention, anything he felt that I SHOULD know. The most upfront and accomodating that I have come across about himself, the deal, the price, and of course my happiness. Everything ended with a whatever you need or an Im on your side. Not only did he make sure that I was pleased with the car, but also with the numbers. At the end of it all, I ended up with a great vehicle and a place that I will make future vehicle purchases. 4.5 hours is nothing for an experience like this. Absolutely recommend.

Bought my 08 audi s4 from sam, very inconvenient on being there if supposed to be even of you pick a day. told me my timing chains were upgraded with rs4 parts which are Higher end components since these cars are known for problems with the guides and tensioners failing costing more than the car was worth at the time of me trading in and taking an $8 thousand loss in price within only a year in a half of purchase , 10k in parts and labor . also there was an oil leak covered up by the engine cover underneath which was another hefty bill. battery failed , abs light , front end alighnment , all 4 new tires because of bad alignment , headlights were never positioned correctly, said the car was never repainted which it was , dont let him fool you with his paint detector only one key, shipped another remote wit out informing me it would have to be programmed . $200.00, parking sensor fell out after a week if owning. Nice guy as a salesman to get these cars in and out , but definitely wasnt honest and upfront costing me tons of money, headaches, and pissed off wasted time on a stupid car. Learn from me, buy certified new with warranty from an actual dealer, or when you ask for a short warranty from advantage and get turned down youll find out why.

I bought a 2004 Jeep Cherokee from Sam on August 27th two to three weeks after I bought a vehicle the drivers rear tire was smoking and really hot to the touch that was due because of the rear axle seals were no good so I had to have that and wheel bearings replaced and the drivers rear caliper was sticking got that fixed a week later my steering started making sounds got a power steering pump and also found out that my water pump was leaking had to have that fixed however its still growling also there is an erratic throttle that nobody could figure out YET and theres an electrical short in the system it just seems funny when you buy a car and you have to take it into the mechanic every 2 weeks to get something fixed on it just be careful if you ever buy a car have it checked out from a trained mechanic before signing anything Ive been trying for almost 3 months to try to get the car running properly I think I was sold a lemon yes Sam is a nice guy but dont forget he is a Salesman that is the sales pitch what kind of a nice guy would sell a person a vehicle that you would have to take into the mechanic shop every two weeks I will keep posting on all the repairs I have done on this vehicle I just cant believe I had to fix so much in such a short amount of time and is not yet totally fixed just more money out of my pocket I guess I would rather give him back the vehicle for most of my money back than to put more money into it. 11/23/16 well now my power windows & mirrors dont work and still sam did nothing about it
