This shop will treat you right! Our Honda had an AC issue and we brought it to the dealer and within minutes the dealer quoted us $2400! Thankfully my dad is in the car business and referred me here! Left with only paying $240 (nothing actually needed to be replaced like the dealer said) and couldn’t be happier. Trustworthy and reliable!

I was desperate and in a bind, car broke down in-front of their doors so I took it in. Took full advantage charged over $700 to replace pulleys and serpentine belt. Got my car back with a rip in the leather, pretty sure I was over charged for the work.

A little costly, but they do a great job. When Im having car problems and I have searched everywhere for dynastic, or simply to get my Vehicle fixed..... I can ALWAYS count on them. Even though I may be walking out of there after spending over a thousand. But at least I know my Vehicle is fixed.

Cant begin to complement this location enough, super work, extremely competitive. This garage is court appointed to mount safety devices in vehicles belonging to multiple offenders for drug and alcohol offenders for Hennepin County. Have used his services for multiple decades. He stays quite busy because of his reputation! Yes he has some large scary looking dogs which may be the best trained and mellow dogs on the planet!

After going through some pretty major life changes, I bought a truck for pretty cheap needing it to at least get me to work and my kids to school, about 2 weeks in it totally broke down and wouldnt start. It broke down in front of another shop in EP which was quoting me more than I paid for the vehicle to fix. I have worked with Sm1th Imports for my entire driving life with different vehicles and have always had my expectations totally blown out of the water. So I decided to have the truck towed to them to look at it. Not only did the cost of repair go way down, they were able to cut out the unnecessary work knowing the situation I was in and got my truck running and us back on the road within a day! Ill still need more work on it down the road, but Greg was able to look at my truck with my circumstances in mind and determine what needed to be done in the immediate and what could wait a little longer (of course, not too long though!) which I think is a quality most shops refuse to do in my experience and shows the level of compassion he runs his business with. I will be bringing my truck back to them every time! And really appreciate the peace of mind that if something were to go wrong before then, I have a shop I can continually count on to help me! Especially as a single mom of 3 who couldnt change a tire no matter how many tutorials I watch, I couldnt be more thankful for! I also learned when I was last in about the services they offer with bats for softball /baseball players, and I think that alone shows how much of a family and community involved shop this is, I couldnt give them more stars!

Horrible customer service. I would stay away from Greg. Cusses at his customers and tried to charge me 3 times what any other place would charge. LifeSafer MN said it costs $95 to take the ignition interlock out, Greg told me $255. Glad I made some phone calls, I just found an honest service and I have my appointment scheduled with this other company this coming Friday and they are charging $95 as they should. AVOID SMITH IMPORT AUTO CARE AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I agree with other reviewers that this is a place to avoid. Facts. 1. Guard dogs and baseball bats in lobby. 2. No one smiles or pleasantly greets you when you enter. 3. Dropped car off beginning of week expecting service to be done that day or next. Called store in later week and they stated they couldnt get to fix the car until the next week. They knew I was without transportation and they didnt even bother to tell me this when I dropped car off or called me to tell me this. They couldnt commit to when the next week they would do it. Never apologized. I got the attitude that they didnt care or oh well.

The owner Greg is as dishonest a shopowner,and person that I have ever encountered. Brought my car in to replace a simple mass airflow sensor. My car ran great,but would tend to stall after driving a while. SMITH IMPORTS replaced the sensor, but now,instead of the vehicle stalling,it simply wouldnt start at all after driving it,you would have to let the car sit for hours after turning it off. Bring it back, Greg charges me almost $150,says he did a smoke test and had to tighten some bolts,hooked up his computer and had his guy drive it 60miles without issue. Huh? this is only 3 days later. A week later,back in the shop,now Im told,the original part(mass airflow sensor) was defective. So,the 2nd time having my car in the shop and work done was a crock! But,thank God they were good enough to warranty the part,and replace it free of charge,except the fact they pulled my car outta the bay, had me leave the garage to help other customers,this time with the engine light on,and my car idling funny. I brought my car back 3 times to have them check out the issue before I finally got them to do so,and magically he diagnosed the problem,but get this,forgot exactly what the codes had shown? Never heard of such a thing in my life! I found this garage due to having to have lifesafer,an interlock device installed in my vehicle. And the reason I kept going back to the same garage,close to home who worked with the interlock systems. But,I quit using them for anything other then having my interlock recalibrated every month,but now,I call to have the system removed,a $99 Dollar fee is what lifesafer charges,but again,now more then rude, SMITH IMPORTS owner Greg doesnt care what lifesafer charges,he wont touch it for under $200! The service here is rude and poor,cost is too high,and they are untrustworthy at best. Wish Id payed attention to the reviews,my car is still in need of repair,and it was a costly-frustrating and miserable experience. Listen to what you read,or feel like an ass later when your in the same situation. Good luck!

Great place

Went In there to get my car fixed. And they also do interlock install and recalibration. The owner was explaining to this lady that she cant just be on the system and continue to break the law and her contract with the state about her drinking problem. She obviously didnt approve since she was clearly in denial and accused him of running a false business. After they were finished I asked for an oil change and some other work and he turned out to be a great guy running a family business. Car was fixed professionally in a timely fashion. The only down side are the drunks that come in blaming this auto service for following the state laws and rules. (As you can imagine the messenger gets shot when you deal with people that dont think clear)

Quoted $140 to mount and balance with new valve stems for 4 tires ($35/each). Multiple shops charge $15/each, and many more charge $20. This is a new high, and a rip off for anyone ignorant enough to pay that.

Worst service, i drop my bmw and they never call me back, i call like 10 times and afters 10 days they get me the diagnostic and charge 3 hours $328 and the diagnostic was not right and want to charge me and extra $1800 for a repair that my car did not need.
