Helpful staff but behind the times: coupons that are readily available still need to be cut out instead of being readily loadable on a customer card & @ the deli I simply wanted their Home style salad but was told I could choose from only 4, with my plate lunch! KTA simply charge a little more for or that choice! Is that so hard to do!!

Floor supervisors were rude to me and had a stale attitude. Other times I had shopped here I got very little for my grocery budget. Highly suggest shopping elsewhere for better value (ie Walmart, Safeway, or Costco.)

Best store to go for local foods and ingredients. Everyone and their parents go here for good reason. They help the community and have great starting careers for high school students.Their bakery and deli is so good and very nice staff that help you when you need it. They follow health and safety guidelines to assure comfortability by sanitizing and having a wait line outside for limited customers in store.Support local!

KTA is an awesome place to shop in Hilo. The downtown location is not as big so this was our go to grocery store while here in Fern Acres. Had everything we needed and I grilled out many nights from the butcher section!

My favorite market on the island! From Locals to mochi donuts they have it all.

KTA is great the bakery the poke the hot food selection. The grocery selection is also good local kine and regular.

Best local produce store in Hilo. Fresh bakery is Ono. Their deli section needs work ( potato Mac salad is horrible)

I have to give a shout out first for the marinated chicken would you can find towards the back of the store, with the other fresh meats. Oh my God. The price is amazing and the taste… Even more amazing. Overall good superstore for food. Theres an ATM here, and also a bank.

I love shopping at KTA Hilo - You can pretty much find everything youre looking for and the prices are generally lower here.They have a fantastic bakery, Deli, poke & seafood counter as well.I like that I can also hit the bank (Bank of Hawaii is right there in the store) while Im there.The staff and management are ALWAYS friendly even taking the time to talk about upcoming in-store events! The sea food corner smells horrible on many visits. They need to clean it well to smell better, for not going there and to leave fast due to the unpleasant smell.And while there on 26 Nov 2020 morning a block of the ceiling fell few feet from me due to a leak of water in the ceiling.

Fun atmosphere. Nice and cool inside. Thousand of choices, easy access in shopping center. Friendly staff. Many local items items you cant find on mainland. 👏👏👏

Our go to super market when we get to town. With a good selection of organic, local and fresh produce, dairy, eggs and fish - we usually find everything we need.The store would look better with some updates - difficult to achieve when you are so busy.

Lots of organic and gluten free options with brands you recognize. Veggies and fruits always fresh. Great local vibe with lots of omiyage for last minute parties or trips to Oahu. Never heard of a Spencer steak until I saw them here!

I use KTA pharmacy and I love them. They says remember what needs to be refilled and remember my info. I honestly really, really, really appreciate them for going that far. If youre tired of waiting forever for your prescription to be filled at other stores- go to KTA, theyre fast and they listen.

Nice people. The store is very clean and well stocked. I bought a money order. Its only a buck cost. Pretty quick turn around and the young lady was very kind. I like this store and think you will too.

I enjoy the variety of desserts and poke options KTA has to offer. As well as the plate lunches they occasion offer. They carry an array of fresh and packaged goods, as well as oriental foods.

I love this store. It has a fabulous variety of products. It has a fabulous bakery and deli. You could spend hours in there, and we did. The prices are a little high. But, we will definitely shop there in the future.

A locally own supermarket. Most of the items they have are on the fair side of pricing. You can find pretty much any groceries here and they do offer coupons for certain items at certain period of time. Clean store, with good service. If you new in town and want groceries, check this place out before you crack other stores elsewhere.

Staffs are friendly and very helpful, they offer to wipe the wagons with bleach before going in to shop. Awesome!

Family owned 100+ year old small Hawaiian chain. They have good fresh fish and poke and cater to the local Asian population with items not found elsewhere. They are a good source for grass fed beef and run regular plate lunch specials. of local foods.

Fresh fish, if you want that you either have to buy a boat or go shopping here. Also their deli and bakery do a great job surprising you with different things made fresh daily. Out late at night? Stop by, they usually have something made up in the deli section. Bento box, and other tasty morsels sitting in a warmer, just for you.

We love this place! Came in from Oahu and went straight here. Bought a cooler and a bunch of snacks for our stay. They have an amazing bakery as well as deli. Everyone here is so friendly too. We can feel like Ohana here.

The locals big market. It has everything, great produce, the best super market bakery, great meat, local foods, slippers, picnic stuff, it is packed. Some days locals talk story in the isles. Takes a bit longer, but the best food. Open over 100 years. They take care of you!

I love KTA! Its fun to shop here because of the wide variety. You can get some good deals with the Super Saver coupon book. Lines are always short and employees​ are always friendly!

Always courteous & helpful. Meat Dept will cut/slice for no extra charge unlike other stores. They support local items. Great selection in the bakery. As well as bento, sushi, sandwiches, salads & lots of local favorites. Gotta check them out!

Great place and nice choices. They have a full sized deli and large meat selection. Tons of fresh produce and lots of options. The locals didnt look pleased I was shopping at their store. Not the aloha feeling Ive gotten elsewhere.

This is my main stop for groceries. They have mostly everything, and at a good price. The poke and fish is delicious and they make some of their own things that taste great. I recommend the deli, and the 1916 branded snacks created for KTA - the dried mangoes and sesame sticks are my favorite.

Arguably the best grocery store on the Big Island. Locally owned and operated, KTA is one of the best grocers for local foods at competitive prices. The store puts substantial effort towards carrying local products. The staff is helpful and friendly too.

Everytime I go there, I love the Korean chicken but they are always out, 3 time I went there and they were out. They keep on telling me they sell out. Why dont they make more????

This store is also out of control with the prices. I have never seen so many stores ranking up the prices, two to three even four times what the product is worth. I understand the in Port costs. But taking advantage of the costumers is straight up wrong and shameful. Besides the prices, the store was nicely clean and organized. Didnt get any costumer service because I left right after I had seen their outrageous prices.

I love this place. Especially the deli counter. The ladies there have seen me come in for the last 15+ years. When my son was a baby I would go there and grab lunch, and they would also talk to me, and to this day ask me how my (now 14 year old) son is and they would talk about how cute he was when I would bring him in. They make me feel like family, not a customer.

I love KTA, they have The best grass fed local meat on the island! The best fresh fish selections, the best local coffee and local cookies, marinades are awesome. Cakes and pastries are good too..i defiantly recommend KTA for meats and fish.Mahalo

We went here to but groceries while on vacation. A little more expensive than Walmart. The cool thing was a large assortment of already prepared foods from cheese called to Korean takes out. That was great.

The staff are very happy and helpful. They make it a point to offer assistance many times but are not pushy people. They tend to hire local people early in their career.

Youre Someone Special at KTA! A slogan they live by. I have seen KTA change with the times. They have grown to be a local owned supermarket/grocery store that has everything you need at an affordable price! Their deli serves the best affordable breakfasts, lunches and dinners for those who just want to grab a quick meal but not fast food! They have a wide selection of poke, seafood and pulehu meats for busy people or last minute gatherings. Great store & comfortable atmosphere.

Its a local grocery store, with prices lower than Safeway most of the time, certainly without the Safeway membership card.It offers some freshly cooked, hot dishes around 11a (lunch) & 3p(dinner) at reasonable prices. Breakfast items are also available at the deli, though they run out of menu by 8a-9a. So does the coffee runs out by then.

Best Hilo store for local groceries. Never have any problem here and staff is typically nice. Good poke.

Better than Safeway because youre staying local with the overlords. Im very much a fan of this store though I rarely go here because its further than the smaller one in downtown where I get most of my regular goods. You can even get fishing and boating supplies here.

Yummy food throughout the store, help whenever you need it, almost always at affordable prices for good quality. Never had experienced bad costumer service. Common down falls during peak hours crammed aisles of people and wagons and fighting the parking lot, but what store doesnt have that?

I am appalled at the quality, I recently purchased 90% grade hamburger in the Hilo store. Started to cook next day and it was slimey and horrible odor. I will never buy meat at any KTA.s ever.

Some prices are good, but need to be selective. In Hawaii you cant just buy at one place. Store is busy and isles are narrow so maneuvering is sometimes difficult.

Just remember this is an island, the supply ship only comes in every couple of weeks. If you grew up here you know that and buy your month supply of whateva when it goes on sale. Get there Early!

Kta has local products that you just cant find any where else. I love this store.
