Mesa balanced and machined the motor I have in my VW. The level of quality and service provided is unmatched by anyone. My Motor runs flawlessly and is coming out of breakin. Laz still fields my calls and give input and is a joy to talk to as he imbues knowledgeable information and takes the time to hear my concerns and always educated me further as to the practice of building cars. Met Laz today to discuss dynamically balancing an 11 blade Porsche cooling fan. Unfortunately he did not have a balance shaft small enough to fit the part. Regarding this, he was thoughtful enough to tell me this might be the case before I went to his shop. I like this guy. Seems straight forward about things and speaks as though he knows what hes talking about. Ill gladly speak with Laz again should the occasion arise.

Mesa balancing was recomended to me by a friend about ten years ago and I have no complains, Laz have done all the machining for me because he is .very knowledgeable and professional and at the same time a have learn a few things from him about machining.

I ended up paying more than double of the agreed upon price to Laz for an incomplete engine. (Which I originally accepted and decided NOT to post anything)BUT as I started to inspect his work my decision changed....If youre going to overcharge me by more than double at least finish the job.Upper pulley was left in-box disassembled?The motor was 4 months late, how could that be overlooked with that much time? No confirmation on what supercharger isolator was used? The wrong flex plate was ordered and installed? Upper hub was never drilled...$3600 bill on a $1600 job and I have to take the motor back apart now, remove the snout and blower, and put the upper hub on a drill press (that I have to rent) to install the Lingenfelter pulley and dowel pin.Im pretty sure I paid Laz to do all of the work to dissolve the margin of error...Its really unfortunate, I was recommended to him by one of his long time friends.Its safe to say we both we both were disappointed, I was not treated like a friend or a valued customer whatsoever despite trusting him with a ton of money.

The quality of machine work at Mesa balancing is second to none. Laz takes the time to explain what and why each machining operation is necessary. His do it right the first time attitude goes a long way when it comes to reliability. I like that I can drop off a project and get back exactly what I asked for. It is very difficult to find a machine shop you can trust fortunately I happened to find laz by chance and feel fortunate for that. I have known laz professionally for over 20 years and completely trust his knowledge/judgement and opinion. I have had many motors machined and by far laz has always produced the best product for me.
