My favorite place to shop, hands-down. Fabulous seasonal produce (all organic), eggs from local small farmers, and a surprisingly good variety of products for a shop of this size with new goodies in all the time. Youll never be bored. Try the juice bar!

Love this place..local health food with a large variety of the healthy foods and groceries I am looking for.

They have great vegetable chili soup in the deli along with two other soups. The vegetable chili is my favorite. I also like that you can refill big jugs of water for under $1 a gallon. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to keep and stay on a healthy diet.

A huge selection of spices and medicinal herbs, and all kinds of unique things. Very enjoyable. Bring your own bags or they have boxes. VERY MASK FOCUSED.

Best deli sandwiches in town!

Outrageous prices. Only place in town where they will not remove masks! Drive a few blocks and go somewhere else like Natural Grocers or Safeway.

I use to enjoy coming to this store, but with the Covid issues; I have a legitimate medical reasoning for not wearing a mask and the manager was extremely rude about it and when I ask for the owner’s number they just game me the store number. I’ll be sure to pass on to friends and family to go to the Natural Grocer from here on out. If your going to be an arrogant and rude business, then I don’t need to give you my money, a from a future potential customer. I understand protocol but working in 2 hospitals and still no virus and medical reason for not wearing a mask your fears are not a fact for attempting to force people to wear a mask. I’m sure you do just fine with out my business but Helena is still a small town.

This place is a great source for high quality vitamins. The knowlegeble staff can help you find the right thing for your ailment. Then maybe you wont need to go to the doctor🤗

I LOVE their salad bar/deli. Its a great place all around.. Had a truly disheartening experience with an associate named Julie awhile back. We shared the same name(Julie)and mentioning this offhandedly while asking for direction to the stores Primrose oil, this person looked at me like I had literally offended her by having the same name..Or mentioning it? I couldnt tell you but she was visibly agitated!Then there was the product I was wanting. She begrudgingly marched me to supplement isle.. I told her that I was looking for the small bottle of topical oil,, not ingesting it.. She said to me Ive never even seen that before with the blatant inflection that I was making this up just to anger her!I attempted to tell her that Ive purchased and repurchased this item here for years, but that the small fridge it was kept in was no longer there and had it been moved!?? But I was unable to get past purchased and repurchased here when I was interrupted with ... Then you should know where it is?.I left the store immediately and have not been back.Nor have I been for months. Sadly.But oh how Ive missed the salad bar and the OTHER friendly faced employees that know me.I should have told someone when it happened but I am so fully non confrontational ....Avoid an employee named Julie and youll wish you had discovered this gem before...LOL

Interestingly, still adhering to draconian mask mandate that is not value added - and likely harmful. But the mask is the unofficial sign of compliance in the City of Helena. Clearly not as alternative as the health food store once was.

I feel this is one of the few safe places to shop during the pandemic. Staff are great and good selection of items and positive vibes.

Over priced but Decent grocery selection. Have had a number of rotten vegetables purchased and don’t realize they are rotten until I cut into them (onions mostly).I don’t understand why they don’t sell any beer or wine. I would recommend they change this.It is appalling how much Saran Wrap is used on the to-go sandwiches...and how soggy the vegetable sandwiches are, why? Is it the red peppers? Very confusing and gross.Had a fresh vegetable Green juice once and I am pretty sure they added a sweetener. It tasted artificial. Do not recommend.Don’t like giving a bad review bc I appreciate the niche they are trying to fill in Helena but they need to do some work to bring the quality up.

Had a very bad experience in the vitamin and supplement section of the store. Female, Julie I think, I first had to chase down. She was on her phone and when I asked her to assist me, she was rude...acting as if I was interrupting her day. I asked her about basic one a day vitamins and she then acted as if this question was beneath her. I moved on to a specific root I had heard about that helped stiff joints and again... she acted like those employees at the Good Food Store in Missoula. Trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, I asked her about the deli. I thought I’d grab something to eat. I asked Julie what she liked at the deli (her favorite sandwich) and she AGAIN, acted as if she was too busy to answer my basic questions. I will Not step foot in the store until she’s gone. I will be telling all of my associates on FB and other SN sites.

This is a great place. Theres a very wide variety of healthy foods, from veggies to granola. Its a clean, friendly environment and the staff are always very helpful if you have any questions. The deli is pretty great, always a lot to choose from. You can make a sandwich sort of like subway, and theres a good selection of baked goods

A truly local business that provides healthy groceries, a friendly staff and a really great deli. I really enjoy the Mexican food on Tuesdays. Plus you can pick up a fresh cookie or snack!

Good selection, very good produce section, but overall prices seem a little high. Hot bar is always good. Great selection of chocolate, dried fruits, other dry goods in bins. I like this place, but I try not to get too much there cause it seems to add up a little quicker than some other places.

Fresh deli foods. They make sandwiches to go. Hot soups and salads. Everything was yummy. Love that they carry local non homegenized milk. I got a quart of half & half for $3.50. Some items a little pricey. Its local and adorable!

The staff are so friendly and super helpful. The bulk selection allows me to try just a little of a tea (VERY large selection of teas and coffee) or just the right amount of an exotic spice for a recipe for super prices. The bulk grains, nuts, herbs, etc... are awesome! The deli selection of salad bar items and hot bar, and soup varieties keep me coming back. I could go on and on about their supplements, cute hats, yummy olive tapenade, rare and fun fruits and veggies. Real Food is my favorite place to shop and dine! Highly recommend.

Best bulk selection in Montana?The amount of bulk goods these guys have is amazing! Baking goods, snack foods, teas, herbs and spices, its all there. Stuff I had never been able to find anywhere but the internet and it all looked pretty fresh and was reasonably priced. Their produce was really lovely too - I didnt buy a ton as I was just passing through town but what I did buy was very good. Hope Helena residents know what a good theyve got here!

Eating here for lunch is always great. They have a great selection of food you can place on your tray or go-box. The staff are friendly and can make you a sandwich that can be very delicious. I love going here as the food is usually healthy and helps you not make poor choices. The prices are also responsible.

YUM! The Deli is wonderful! One of my favorite places to eat! I appreciate that the music is never blaring (like most places), they have a nice sit down area, bulk foods, great kombucha on tap, friendly checkers, and always have chocolate on sale!

Excellent selection of organic and locally produced groceries. Their deli (hot/cold) bar is fantastic. They update their hot item everyday and their salad bar is one of the largest Ive seen. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch!

Theres a lot of great organic and local food options at this grocer. And a variety of natural goods that you wont find anywhere else in town. A hot food bar, kombucha on tap, bulk goods, and tons more can be found here. It really is one-stop shopping, if a bit pricey.

THE place for good food and good service! Discaimer, I know the owners. During my last trip to the store, employees didnt know this. From checkers to stockers, everyone has a smile and happy to help you find anything. Food quality and selection, off the chart. Looking for the perfect - fresh spice, they have it. Awesome coffee, grinding station; they have it. Feeling down, take a walk through the store and be refreshed by smiles. A must visit and staple for your pantry needs.

Good food good quality fair prices organic food they dont try to take it to the cleaners. Forks in Helena seem to be careful, but not like Californians. Prepared food is tasty.

They have one of the best lunches in town. I eat lunch here as much as I can. Theres no doubt they have some of the best organic fruits and vegetables in town. Their customer service is A1. I dont go for the essential oils, the vitamins, or the supplements but if you do they have a great selection. Ive never bought their meats but I hear great things about those as well. If you live in Helena or are just visiting and you dont know about the real food store you should stop in and take a tour.

Best real food selection in Helena. Sometimes the prices can be a little high, but they always have great sales and specials. Parking lot is shared with other businesses so I try and patronize during off peak hours.

A true local establishment in Helena and probably the best choice for a healthy hot meal.Has many good options for organic and healthy options. The food court is also very good. The regularity with which they run out of items and no restock them in a timely manner can be frustrating. Thats the reason for the knock of one star.

I spotted their sign when passing through Helena, Mt. Its a grocery store, a herbal shop, and a cafeteria. Also a deli. Inside dining tables and tables outside to sit and enjoy your food outdoors.

The luncheon buffet is outstanding. Fresh vegetables, fish and meat. Most of all the staff is courteous and helpful. Recommend

The Real Food Market & Deli for a long time was the only health food store in town, as a gluten-free girl this was the only choice for me in terms of food choices. Unfortunately, as many Helenaeans have seen, the store has truly become a monopoly with OUTRAGEOUS prices, that are not worth the product themselves. Laughing Water, the half owner of the store is also something not worth your time. He is overall a cruel man, who looks down on others because theyre not to his standards. Overall its sad that you can see the obvious stain in the store, from the employees to the prices. Cannot WAIT for Natural Grocers opening on Montana Ave, hope its not such a disappointment as the Real Food Store.

With an elitist store owner that looks down on anyone that is not within his social circle and forms opinions and stereotypes everyone, the Real Food Market & Deli is a tough place to work.The upper echelons of leadership in this store as a whole is unorganized and completely unprofessional. As a capitalist, non co-op organization, only set out to make money, it is hard to gain the owners approval unless you are already in with them. Tried and tested ideas that work and are taught as basic business practices all across the country are thrown right out the window here. Original ideas or suggestions are not considered. As a former employee its very much his house, his rules.Employee treatment is very state and federal minimum with no healthcare or retirement plan that is officially recognized. Store policies are lax, with a lot of grey areas. Employees that follow these policies are still reprimanded from time to time because the translation of these policies are up to Laughing Waters discretion.The prices are most often double what you would pay at any other health food store and with the only leverage being bulk bin items (which is a current health concern for many), and a full meat department, there is not much stock in this stores success.For the most part, socially, this store has employed great people and generally the customer service is slightly above average. Albeit not very efficient when it comes to timely or quality service, its almost always service with a smile.As a former employee with a year and a half at this store, employment and patronage at the Real Food Market & Deli is a toss up. For those that personally know the management or have been shopping there for decades it is a great place, but for those that are looking for a quality natural food store to work/shop there is better.
