I went into Hornungs to buy a lawn mower. I was helped by Greg Nies. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the Toro 21 Smart Stow Super Recycler Lawn Mower. I ended up buying the lawn mower and I am very happy with the help I received. Greg was very helpful and friendly.

Very bad experience 2dy. I have been coming to Hornings for over 25 yrs. When thay were at Kline Village. I have a tree service and I am in there for saws and stuff often. 2dy I had 2 hedge trimmers to get sharpened. I waited patiently in line. There was 1 person at the counter. A Lady came to help at the counter, she took someone who ce after me. I asked if I was standing there for my health and was ignored. Thay took 2 more people who came after while I was standing right there like no one wanted to be bothered w/me. When I said something thay just looked at eachother. I lft and it will be a cold day in hell b4 I come bk there.

I rented a boom lift from them to hang christmas lights. Rates were cheaper than others around, the equipment was in good working condition, and they were very helpful getting me set-up. I would definitely use them again! Way better service than you get at Home Depot!

Be careful with misleading ads in this store. They put a price in a product and when you go to the store to shop the stuff you saw in better price and you find it, and go to the cash register to pay it, they said that they cant give you the stuff in that price (special price) because was an error printed in their shopper ad. The company forgot that a person can sue them for misleading ads. Sale dates: April 12,2021 end April 25,2021

Great service. We needed a hard to find air filter for our old lawn mower (searched at several big box stores & no luck), after some inventory searching & rummaging around in the stock room, the Service manager located the exact filter we needed! Give them a big two thumbs up & recommend them to folks looking for a great neighborhood hardware store!

We went in to rent a spray painter and the representative gave us excellent instructions, and told us everything we needed to know to get started, he helped us show the paint department and looking around we saw a huge selection of tools and equipment! Wonderful store with plenty of selection and help!

I was just there inquiring about 2 rubber washer grommets. After being sent to the wrong aisle twice I decided to leave and go to a store that is more interested in helping people than talking to each other while the store wasnt busy. Im very disappointed and wouldnt recommend going there. The true value in camp hill was awesome!

Rental is terrible, my boss rented a machine to complete a job. After only an hour and a half machine was throwing fault codes and wouldnt move. ( not to mention the trailer had no brakes) I was standing there when he made the call to find out about getting it fixed, the rental manager/service manager CY I believe his name is, was extremely rude.. used excessive profanity.. and threatened violence. His fix was telling my boss to figure it out ourselves.If I could give them less then 1 star I would, never will I recommend their rental to anyone, Ill do my best to steer any of my contractor friends away.

Good layout

Ok I know this place is the old time neighborhood hardware store. However, I stood in line for 10 min while both cashiers dealt with a mower repair and a rental that were taking forever. I feel that better customer service would be to just let me pay for my 3 items instead of making me wait so long to pay MORE than I would at HD or Lowes. I wont be going back.

Came here to get some nuts and bolts for my motorcycle. Had exactly what I needed. The drawers were a little bit unorganized, but functioned well enough for me to complete my task.

Not so good folks. We have rented there before, but this time we were trying to rent a mud buggy and trailer for our concrete replacement project, but the associates working in there that evening (3/13/17) unfortunately were not able to help us with this rental. First off the trailer was huge and the associate assisting us did not hook it up correctly to our truck (we learned that afterwards). I pulled around to the store and when I tried to load the machine on to the trailer it came off the truck trailer that is and it flew up into the air. No one was hurt and our truck was not damaged, but thank God the trailer came off in their parking lot and not while we were on the road. Guy working there apologized and admitted that he was not good with hooking the trailers. Working together we were able to hook up the trailer again and then we were given these chains and metal things to secure the machine, but once again associate was not able to assist in securing the load as once again we were told that nobody is there that knows how to do this. We lost just over hour and forty five minutes trying to rent, load and leave this store, but we were not able to do so. So I was just done...I called the Hornungs store over in Linglestown and they had the same machine there and much smaller trailer to haul it. Guy working at that location was super helpful and knowledgable and helped us load and secure the machine. We are renting over there from now on. Suggestion is just to give all the associate some basic training around how to work with the equipment that they are renting. It will go a long way.

Great rental center. Good people and great service

Rented a few chairs for an event and had to return following day during a lunch break. Front end of store was under staffed for a lunch hour and was working extremely slow. This was the first time I used this location and the directions for returns was very poor and then degraded to down right rude by the end. I typically use the location on mountain road and will not return to this location again.
