Thrift shopping is an art. Its a hunt. Its always an adventure that I enjoy. Community aid is my favorite place for thrift safaris . Yes some prices have gone a little out of whack lately but others make up for it. Pay attention to the tag colors (different each week) and take your time. Shop senior day (tuesday) if eligible. 50% off Wednesdays are a little different with tags.I have done most of my Christmas shopping at community aid for 3 years in a row. Everyone delighted with the gifts. This year it is definitely a good time to shop smart. Shop thrift. Visit community aid.

Great store! Good prices, large selection of clothes and household items, especially dishes. Jewrly, sporting goods stuff, electronics, books, furniture, bedding, lots of childrens clothes and toys! Vacuum cleaners to tools! A little bit of something for everyone. Remember, its a thrift store so it depends on what people donate. Always different stuff. Employees are very helpful, friendly and congenial. People love the store and the great deals too! Best thrift store around.

Cashier was very nice. I got some great clothes all brand name for $13.00 today. So, that is awesome. 2 stars because of uncleanliness of store. What is sad is how utterly filthy this store is. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting as are the fitting rooms.During these times (pandemic) would be a good time to change this up.Just because people are looking for bargains shouldnt mean they should have to shop in filth.

Im always there on Wednesdays. Can you believe I bought those Nike shoes for $6 and the other pair I only paid $3. Today blue tag items were a dollar green tags were excluded from sales and then every other tag was half off when I left I paid $27 and I got two pairs of shoes and about five or six shirts.

The 3 stars are for the shopping experience and good prices. This store had been there for me many times when I couldn’t afford a thing. But since the pandemic, I have tried on 3 separate occasions to donate items and their drive up donation center is closed. Unbelievable. Once, I thought ok I understand. But two and three times.... that is getting me ticked off. I had items to donate like glasses and housewares that will be destroyed if thrown in the big stand alone drop off bins. Each time I went and the drop off lane was mysteriously closed, I drove right down the street to Goodwill and donated my items without stress. Goodwill has staff that will assist you during the hours they say they will and they keep the donation center open for reasonable hours. No sudden closing early without online notice, or closing at 3PM on a Saturday. Was trying to give back to the store that I have adored for so long. Frustrating.

I truly like this store very much. The prices are realistic not like other second hand stores with sky rocketing prices. Which is crazy considering the items were donated & people need help during these extremely difficult financial Times. As I see it Community aide is exactly that their for the community. I travel from Hampstead, MD. to come to this particular store. There just is none like this one near me. I love the color code changes weekly & the fact that I can buy an item for $1.00 with that color. Also that their are family days & Senior citizen days where things of all colors are 1/2 price . Its wonderful. Not to mention most of the staff members are simply some of the nicest people you will ever want to meet & very helpful if you have any questions. It has a great atmosphere & its a place where you simply want to come back again & again.

This was my first time here. I was told about this place through a coworker. It is kinda like a big Good Will. There was a ton of stuff but not a big selection for plus size women. Prices werent bad but I wasnt too impressed. Drove 30 mins to buy 6 shirts and paid $36 for all of them (not terrible) but was under the impression it would be cheaper than Good Will. Still, I would come back!

Community aid went down hill since the pandemic. They get all there clothing and goods by donations. The prices went up and half off days arent half off its what tag they decided for the day. Its sad that we give them everything for free and then they mark it high. I get it they have a business too run but there getting greedy with the prices. Today we saw a pair of used nikes for 40.00 that they got for free. People that go to community aid want to be able to get items that are cheaper then department stores. At this point Id rather donate my stuff to good will. They havent gotten greedy. Just sad.

The people running this thrift store have lost their ever loving minds. I just saw a Fred Flintstone drinking glass with a $10 price tag on it! I have been shopping at Community Aid in Hanover, Selinsgrove and most recently York, PA since they opened. The stores are well organized, clean, and the employees are kind, friendly and helpful. Until recently, I would have said their pricing was fair, but with their recent change to no discounts for the color of the week, I cannot say that anymore. I am disappointed in this corporate decision that the NEW items are no longer included in the 50% off days. Prices too have gone up considerably, which doesnt make sense either. What a shame....unless there has been a BIG increase in utilities, rent for the buildings and/or hefty employee raises, the inventory in your store is acquired mostly by donation drop-offs and therefore prices should remain low. Changes were also made to their community outreach $$ to non-profits in that they no longer give $$ to non-profits with a low budget. Corporate Community Aid: give back to the community like you used to. Were still here shopping at your store, keeping you open.....appreciate us!

I used to go in there 3 times a day and buy jewelry ,handbags and glassware at reasonable prices. I now go maybe once a week and walk out empty handed. I guess now they think they are a boutique the way they have raised their prices. I have seen some jewelry also at kohls on sale cheaper than here. I used to see long lines at the registers. Today i went and there wasnt even a line, few days before christmas.Even ran into a group of 4 people discussing this that i joined when i heard them. It appears goodwill is getting more donations now. I have been going to goodwill instead. Time for district mgr to rethink what he is doing to this store The free donations dont need to be priced retail.

This store is getting just as bad as the other community aids. $40 for any used Columbia Jacket, $30-40 for used shoes, basic jackets $20. $20 on used video games. Basically if it has any brand that they think is worth a lot, they will price gouge. Oh and now you can no longer get items they put out this week for any kind of discounts. The items have to sit until the next week if you want a deal. Its not like they are getting these items for free or anything. Its truly sad what the Community Aids in this area have come to.

A pretty good place. It doesnt have as much diversity as other stores, but thats probably due to it being in Hanover. Things are always organized appropriately and have a neat appearance.A great place for kid clothes, because theres no reason to pay $20 for pants that your kid is going to out-grow in 3 months. Most of the womens shirts are pretty stretched out in the front though, even the smalls. The girl with the long, dark hair who usually works in the back is a miserable person and I think she needs to take a good, hard look at herself. I have had three interactions with her, and I formally complained once. She has lied to me about store policies, caused me to almost lose an item I had paid for an hour before hand (the store holds big items that you pay for, for a short period), lied to me about not accepting umbrella strollers, and once stalked me when I was at the donation bin out back and demanded I show her what I was putting in (childrens books). She is quite miserable. Ive seen her there for 2 years now. I guess she does something valuable for them that they like to keep her.
