Got an Avengers Infinity Wars themed cake for the anniversary with custom fillings and toppings. It was perfectly ASSEMBLED! The best Carvel ever!

So I ordered a cake in person yesterday. The woman who was helping me was beyond nice and went out of her way to help me. She told me that since she would be hand drawing the image on the cake, she did not need to charge me for a picture. So I paid then and was texted a receipt for proof of purchase when I picked up the cake.Today I went to pick up the cake and was being helped by a man who’s name was “Mohamed”. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. He argued with me about the fact that I wasn’t charged for the image, when I had nothing to do with that aspect. Finally he basically threw the cake at me and walked away. At that point I yelled out that I wanted to get a small ice cream also. When I told him what I wanted (kids cup, half cookies and cream and half mint) he pointed to a sign and said “can’t you read this?” in a rude tone. I explained nicely and calmly that Ive had this exact combination before and that I was under the impression that the sign didn’t really matter. He continued to be rude and dismissive until eventually I walked out.

Five stars for cleanliness and 1 for customer service. This is the ONLY location I’ve ever been to and the soft serve serving was way different than the advertised photos when making a purchase. When I received my order all orders were poorly made. The heavy set guy with glasses was indifferent to my concerns even while his co workers were more considerate to who they were serving. Passing on any further visits to this place.

Looks like there has been staff turn over or perhaps new ownership. The register is plastered with multiple signs - no $100 accepted, no gift cards accepted, no outside food. Staff seems somewhat dry. Not the most inviting location but the Carvel products are always excellent.

I normally never leave bad ratings. I do not like to do this because 1 poor rating can really hurt the reviews for this business. I’ve been in this shop a total of 3 times since moving to the apartments close by to this shop.Warning—— if you come here… taste your food on the spot and make sure it’s correct. They will not correct it for you once you leave. There is one girl who works there and is the sweetest person. She was only there my first time entering this shop. The man I am about to write about is who you need to me aware of. The gentleman is very short with customers and not so kind.My 3rd time entering this shop was to have the shop correct an order. It seems trivial, and I probably wouldn’t have brought my “Carvelanche” (basically a blizzard treat) back I’d I lived further away…. But since I’m walking distance why not. I purchased a Heath sundae and a Carvelanche last night. The Carvelanche was supposed to be Reese’s cup with marshmallow, peanut butter swirl and chocolate sauce with crunchies. I received Heath with caramel swirl. I got home threw it in the freezer and ate it around 9 pm. It was gross. I put it back in the freezer knowing the store was closed. I went back just 20min ago to talk to the store employee. He had such an attitude. He remembered me from last night and I brought back the full Carvelanche. He said there was nothing he could do and I could buy a new one, I made the mistake and told him 2 Heath. I would never do that. He finally (after me explaining that I lived in the apartment next door and I came back so he could fix it) took my ice cream chucked it into the trash and made a new one. His body language and verbal language was rude. He was kind of rude last night… but I just assumed a long day and he was tired. I will never come back here.

It was a delicious birthday ice cream cake. We choose the Oreo cake. Thank you

I never really put reviews but i had to this time. Whoever worked at feb 19, 5:30 pm (a male) charged me wrong and i could obviously tell after i got my drink. Charged me for a chillatta when i got iced coffee. Im not going to fight over few bucks but it is very unprofessional. He did not even give me a receipt to hide it until i asked for it before I left. Nice try though

Employees are extremely rude and don’t care about their customers overall experience whatsoever. Instead of each employee helping one person (like a store would normally do) all three employees could only help one customer at a time. Store seemed kind of dirty and products were not fresh.

We loved the cake it’s was so delicious and beautiful. The cherry on top for such a special day for my girl.

No complaints with the place. Its a cute place to stop and get some good Carvel iced cream.I stop here with my son as a reward for tolerating Home Depot. The staff are nice and iced cream is always good.

Phenomenal service! I live in Canada and I wanted to give someone a photo ice cream cake gift to someone that lives in Hackensack area. Noticed they deliver via Uber Eats, but this delivery service doesnt specify photo cakes. So i called Carvel up direct, talked to Amsa and she was incredible. Knew what I wanted, communicated with me very well. Showed me that the cake was ready, I then plugged in the order into Uber Eats and got it picked up and delivered. Definitely will come by when I visit the NJ/NY area. Support this place, they go above and beyond.

One star may be too many. Ordered Butter Pecan ice cream and it was practically inedible. It had an extremely strong rum taste. After asking if it was mislabeled for butter rum ice cream, I was told they don’t carry that flavor. The sever then went and tasted it, with no reaction or response back l to me. I wasn’t offered another flavor, and left very disappointed.

Yet another carvel who’s soft serve machines are “not working” 30 minutes before close. Yet there were people at the table finishing there cones.

The Carvel ice cream is good but the quantity and price at this location is the worse. These place is so cheap compare to other Carvel locations, such as Lodi. This is my second time here and I will never come back

The Cinnabon was not fresh. The employees ( the owner and his wife) do not believe in gloves. Very cheap. They have the cinnabon sitting for hours and hours outside. Instant stomach pain. Just stay away from this place.

I always get a carvel cake for everybodys birthday. These cake taste so good and their cake decorations are too cute 🎂 💕. The owners of the place are sooo nice to me and even made a quick conversation which is actually really sweet. Never had an issue with anything and will continue to come up here.

I have been going to this location for years and have always loved my visits. I had an ice cream cake made for my sisters 25th birthday and it came out absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this location!

By far the worst Carvel that I have ever been to. The staff doesnt know the difference between small medium and large if you ask for a large cone I expect a large amount of ice cream. If the person puts a small amount of ice cream or medium amount of ice cream in a large and for almost $7 It should be accurate . You cant make me a medium ice cream cone and tell me its a large. Also the ice cream does not taste like regular Carvels ice cream and the color is beige like french vanilla which creeped me out. Ill drive the extra distance to go to a place that knows what theyre doing.

Carvel has great ice cream and the staff is amazing. They are always giving out free samples and occasionally they will give out ice cream for free. In addition, they accept discount cards from the local schools. I highly recommend going to carvel, especially on Wednesday as the ice cream sundaes are buy one get one free.

Love Carvel ice cream. We almost always get the kids ice cream birthday cakes from here.

Awful location with the worse customer service. Ice cream was melted and the employees weren’t looking to help. The Cinnabon is also all stale garbage.

Is amazing how some business try to rob their costumers. This Carvel prices are higher than others, e.g. the one on Submit ave in Hackensack has better prices and the portion are bigger. This location is cheap cheap cheap. I got a junior size cup and the ice cream was not even touching the wall of the cup. I wanted to go back but that required driving a distance to do a u-turn. Shame on you Carvel dont go here.

I tried the Cinnabon and some coffee. This place has the worst coffee imaginable and the Cinnabon was “cold”. I guess they should remove those items and simply focus on selling ice cream, which is also mediocre, at best.

The restroom at this location is constantly out of order. The staff uses it, but it is not available to the public. It is a health code violation. The manager was rude about this situation.

The person treat customers very bad. This place is terrible. He has attitude problem.

Poor service, poor knowledge of product.Tried to order Mocha Freeze. Girl working June 8 at 6:30 did not know how to make it. I asked her if she can look at the recipe and try. She then got distracted and answered a phone call.The other guy working tried to help with my order, however he didn’t know how to make it either as he was training. Both employees didn’t know how to make my drink, nor offer a solution to something they know how to make.I didn’t feel like waiting for the girl to get off the phone. Left the shop.

Finding a Carvel is like seeing the Loch Ness sea monster. The stores are disappearing so enjoy it while you can
