What a fantastic experience I had today with my sales rep Vince Tester and parts manager Josh Goss! I picked up a new Suzuki 2.5 hp outboard for my small bass rig and got treated like I was purchasing a quarter million dollar yacht! Super-positive attitude and great vibe from everyone there. Im really glad Ive found a spot for service and parts for my marine needs. Thanks guys!

This is the 1st review Ive ever written, but I have to warn people. They replaced a $5 inline fuse holder and fuse shouldve taken about 15 minutes; was charged 1.5hrs labor at $109/hr. If I wouldve done it myself an engine tilt and trim seals and o-rings replacement wouldve cost approximately $69 and taken about 1 hour to complete; they charged 3 hours of labor @ $109/hr plus $169 worth of unnecessary parts for a total of $621. If you have ever been robbed and you liked the way it felt this is the place for you. Otherwise take your business elsewhere.

Great experience with Randy Collier at Ocean Marine. I spent the better part of a year researching boats, and had my options narrowed to four boats. One Saturday morning visit with Randy narrowed my options to one. Randy worked his butt off to make this sale, and I am ecstatic with my purchase and the level of service that I received. I will definitely purchase my next boat from Ocean Marine!

My boat was down at this location for over a month. It needed a new power head installed on one of my yamaha outboards. It took weeks to get the parts ordered (I had to wait for a check to clear since its an out of state bank, so thats understandable) after the parts arrived they said it would take 1 week to complete the job. Two weeks later! I still didnt have my boat because they took all their employees down to boat shows in Mobile or wherever. This place is poorly managed. The staff might be the best in the business but the lack of customer service is sub standard. I had to call every few days to get an update and left my phone number every time I spoke with someone and repeatedly asked them to call and update me on the progress or could I just get a call back. Over the course of the month plus that the boat was there, I think I got 1 phone call from them and it was to say the boat was almost ready. I cannot rate their workmanship yet because I have not had a chance to take my boat out since I picked it up, but the customer service is horrible. When I picked up the boat there was no service tech that could talk to me about what they did to the motor and answer some general questions I had. The parts guy said he would have the Service Tech call me back to explain the break in process and also answer all my questions. Its been almost a week and still no call.

I struck a deal with Ocean Marine Group (OMG) on March 24, 2020 to re-power a 2013 Key West boat. This seemed like a good balance for me since I was a novice boat person and didn’t want the expense of a new boat but worried about an older motor. OMG explained to me that this was more than just bolting on a new motor – new control cables and new gauges had to be installed. We settled on a price and was told it would take about a week.A few days later, I was asked to sign the purchase agreement. As far as the gauges, I only saw a tachometer on the list and asked why. I was told that the other gauges (Honda gauges) would still be functional (except for the trim gauge) and that I could control the trim “by ear”. I explained this was not my understanding. We settled on the addition of the trim gauge. I now have 2 Suzuki gauges and 3 Honda gauges. I will eventually replace the Honda gauges at my expense. I felt I was misled.A couple of days later, I received an email from OMG about rebates that included the Suzuki motor I was purchasing. When I asked about it, I was told it was already included in the deal even though it was not detailed as such. I proceeded with the deal even though I am still uncertain whether this was really the case.Once I picked up the boat and got it home, I noticed that the motor appeared to have been previously mounted on another boat before mine. When I asked about that, I was told that the motor was taken off of a boat for a customer that wanted a different motor and my motor was “set on a motor rack”. The date on the motor was January 2019 – I purchased it in April 2020. OMG did agree to replace the cover which had a “blemish” – still didn’t feel like a “new” motor to me.All this to say that there were enough incidents that occurred during this sale to make me wary about future business (i.e., service) with OMG. While I won’t say OMG was dishonest, I can clearly say they were not transparent.

Went to get boat checked out because of an issue. Said it was this and that and ideas gonna be x price. Fine and dandy. Get there to pick the boat up, price goes up from x price at pick up. Alright? Take the boat out, having same issue it was having. Called them, they said we checked the boat out and it got what it needed. Obviously not. Since Im having same issue and want me to bring it back and charge x price again to have it looked over, again, which is what I payed for in the first place.

I bought a motor from them that cost nearly ten thousand dollars. Four years later and less than twenty hours on the motor (medical issues, then no fishing buddy) the float in the motor stops working. I take my boat to ocean marine and tell them my issue, they say its $125/hour to have a look. I thought it would take less than an hour to have a look and that i would be called before they did any work--wrong! They didnt call at all - i had to keep calling to see if they had looked at it yet and they kept telling me they had not. Two weeks later, they said it was a dead battery and the boat had no issues after they charged it and took it for a test, that will be $230 for their trouble. i hated being treated that way and had doubts about my issue being resolved, but i pay their price and go fishing--and Im stranded out in the water again--the float isnt fixed, i knew it wasnt the battery, the original issue recurred and Im beyond upset!! I take my boat back and say Ive already paid my money, now they are going to fix it right, its still the float and Im not waiting two weeks. They agree to look at my boat the next day, but say if its something they didnt touch the first time, they are going to charge the same shop rate! After two days and a weekend that i dont hear from them (again), i call. I tell them i dont care what they touched the first time, they will deduct what i paid from the actual repair once its completed and what did they see last week when i brought it back? They say theyll take off $150 from my first visit, not the whole amount and now its nearly $500 to fix the float-- parts & labor. They say it would normally be over five hundred dollars. If you add in the eighty i paid for nothing the first time i brought it in, it IS over $500!! They should have credited my entire first visit for treating me like an idiot that didnt know the battery being dead was the problem (it wasnt); for ignoring me when i told them it was the float--they never even looked at it the first time--they just hooked the boat to the computer and interpreted whatever they wanted from that; for making me come back a second time because my issue wasnt resolved the first time; for doing the work BEFORE calling me to state or confirm the issue, springing the price on me for work i didnt want done; and for failing to set the expectation of two weeks. My whole experience with this company is one of dissatisfaction, obviously, as they dont back their product, they just attempt to cover their ineptitude with either computer or their own knowledge as being superior to yours. My recommendation would be to find a better company with which to do business. Its too late for me, but you can still save your craft and maybe a little money going elsewhere.

I went to ocean marine looking to trade for a new boat. They looked my boat over (2 of them ) and gave me a number for trade in.Had me sign one of those dealer agreements to accept the boat and trade in numbers to buy.I signed and agreeded.Ran my credit.Left my boat as good faith deposit and waited on loan approvial.A day or two later got loan approvial...Then was told they inspected my boat again and decided that they didnt want it on trade.OK..what if I took the boat home and left 500.00 deposit instead..Then what !!!!! SIGN the little paper for them to agree and they back out !!!Whats up with that ?? SOOO much mark up on a new boat and they want to be greedy.I looked up dealer invoice on boat I was buying. Then now I got all those credits hits and lowered my score for nothing.Good news is that I went and bought a Yamaha SX210, GOT MORE ON TRADE !!! NEVER GO BACK THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
