Great service. The manager was very nice, knowledgeable, and explained everything. The woman at the desk was very nice. Got front brakes and tires rotated and it took 75 min. Set an appointment as they were busy from the opening of business.

I was traveling from Mass to Florida when things started to go wrong with my Chrysler van ,I started calling auto repair places from the side of the road then realized it was Saturday. Finally I reached Lou and with one hour before closing he told me to bring it in. They ran a diagnostic on the engine which revealed a cylinder issue. It was fixed within the hour. They were honest and fair. I highly recommend this repair shop. Thank you to the guys for fixing all my issues. I made it back to Florida with no problems.

Aside from being a full service auto maintenance shop, this Meineke also serves as a state emissions and VIN verification center for the State of Connecticut. The process for this is very short and both times I have been there has been for less than 20mins to process the inspection. Per requirement from the state, it is cash only. Both times I have gone, I have not needed an appointment. In addition, when I completed my VIN verification, I was given a coupon for a free oil change. Staff are friendly. Waiting area is nice and clean.

After having numerous issues at Midas, I switched to Meineke down the street. Not only are both my vehicles running like they are supposed to, but I also now dont have any issues after getting them serviced. They actually do it right the first time. Larry is a straight shooter and doesnt bs and is an absolute delight to deal with.

Had them mount some tires for my mustang, the simplest of tasks and they could not even follow directions to use stick on weights instead of hammer on ones. Will not be coming back and would recommend you stay away.

Rick and his talented technicians @ Groton Meineke Car Care really took care of my family van. I badly needed new tires & rear brakes. He managed to took care of both that very same day. During and oil change I was told my brakes were 2mm in the front and 3mm in the back and urgently needed to be replaced. I took the car to the dealership where they told me the brakes were in excellent condition at 7mm and certainly did not need replacement. Unreal.

I love this car care center. My husband and I have been going to this Meineke for 9 years and we have never once uad any issues.They go above and beyond! The manager even gave me a ride home to help me out when our truck needed a few hours worth of work.They have always been fair, honest, and trustworthy. We would never go anywhere else.

Great experience with Meineke. I find that they try the least expensive but still good option first before trying to sell you what would be most profitable for them. I have had nothing but the highest quality service and care over the past year that I have been a customer.

I just called to ask about CT emission test and an individual name (LARRY) happens to answer the phone. I asked if they offer that service at this establishment and how much it will cost. Larry rudely spit out the numbers and the time they offer the service and simply hung up while I was still on the line. I was just shocked on how this individual can treat their prospective clients in such a fashion. Needless to say, I had additional question that was never answered but that just mean I should of paid attention to all the negative reviews prior to calling this place. I strongly recommend people to stay away from this establish and take your business where it is wanted.

Went in for the first time for an emissions test and was very pleasantly surprised on how very nice everyone was. My car was in for testing and done in less than 10 minutes!The woman at the desk was very nice and professional .I even had a laugh with one of the mechanics when I accidently stuck my elbow out lol.If you want good,prompt, timely service, I highly recommend this place.Thanks for making my routine emissions test a pleasant one.

Crew seems experienced and front desk was professional. Price for what I had done was about 3 times more than it should have been (a $150-200 service for about $450), but Im fairly certain they punch in whats needed into their computer and it spits out a price, not necessarily their fault.They were there for me when I was in a pinch, but youll very likely find a better deal at one of the local shops in town.

I went in with a coupon for a 24.99 oil change ...ended up paying 97! They also tried to tell me that I needed two tires which they said would be another 300.also said the brake caliber was locked and that would be another 400! Needless to say the 97 was enough of a shock so there was no way I was paying another 700. The brake caliber wasnt needed at all ...I went to a certified mechanic and was told it wasnt needed a d was told that if that were the case I would have heard a loud grinding noise and the car would eventually not move. The staff was pleasant enough but also out to make money. They even charged a extra $5 to top off the fluids which I always figured was included in an oil change.Have since been told that they try to upsell stuff to alot of people.will not go back.

This Meineke is always efficient, thorough, and very attentive. Appointments are honored; walk-ins are rapidly helped; and they are very up-front about additional issues, time required, and parts availability.

I take my cars here for emissions testing. Theres never been a wait, the location is convenient, and the testing process runs smoothly. They get you in and out quickly and for something like an emissions test, thats greatly appreciated.

So I went there bc my car was bucking and had to leave my car there for a few days and the lady at the desk gave me a ride back to my place. Good customer service keep up the good work.

Came in to get my emissions testing done as well as an oil change. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The first turnoff was when Larry snapped at her because she was too quiet. I also wanted them to check out what was causing the noise in my car. Larry then snapped at me stating it was my brakes. I politely told him that the noise was occurring even without braking. He was still rude to me after that. I left the store and not even 20 minutes later he called stating I needed 1,000 dollars worth of work done. Regardless of whether or not that was an accurate quote, I declined his business because of his behavior and treatment towards me.

So impressed that they had a coffee bar and play area while we waited.

I have been here for many various reasons and never had an issue. The staff is always smiling having fun and willing to work out any issue that may come up.

Went to get the highest tier oil change for the tire rotation and balance. I mentioned that power steering fluid needed topped off to make sure they paid attention to it. I sat and watched the process. Not one tire was taken off the car, they said it was against policy to rotate damaged tires. Not sure where the tires were damaged. Then I asked about the balance and he said he did it. I did not see them attempt to touch 1 lug nut on the tires, and said there must be some new technology out for balancing tires I havent heard of. He lowered the cost $20 to the middle tier. When he realized the job was not done. I got the car checked the steering fluid reservoir, what do you know its at the same exact level as when I drove in. I went in and said it needed to be topped off. The guy came out and said you must have a leak somewhere. I watched under the car as he filled it and saw no leaks, and asked how it could have leaked back to the same level I drove in at in 15 minutes. By this point he realized I knew what I was talking about. Pretty sure at this point I have a reused oil filter.It is always extremely difficult going to get the most basic car service done when you are a female. This was outright ridiculous. I have worked on engines for several years and know my way around more than most women that have probably been in there and taken extreme advantage of. To say Im pissed off would be an understatement. I am warning coworkers and friends to stay far away.WOMEN STAY AWAY.

Been here before for emissions. They claimed I failed because my obd port was broken. Funny how at home it worked and at another shop it worked. Also sitting here I hear the manager telling an older couple to fix there blinkers it will need a new pcm for 1200$ then he comes in and tells me you have a nasty exhaust leak is that something you want me to check? I said no he comes back five minutes later to tell me I failed. So he gets my 20$, this place is a huge rip buyer beware you trust the meineke name just for them to rob you

Surprised at the negative reviews, maybe a different staff at the time. Came here to get an oil change and have a few things checked out (brakes, struts, etc.) and probably the best and most honest service Ive ever received from an auto shop here in CT. Very helpful and friendly staff too.

They are inexperienced and do not know what they are doing. Customer service is really bad. They told me to replace completely new, 3 months old tires.

The owner, Larry, aggressively yelled at me and is dishonesty and the girl is equally rude.Larry had my car history faxed to him from New London, because I had a warranty through the New London location. However, the New London facility is equally dishonest and said that I needed rotors on my less than two year old car (although I was at the dealership this week for a recall and they checked my rotors and said theyre fine.)When I declined the rotor service with Larry along with the brake service because he told me it was going to be over $100 for labor, he went off on me - in front of other customers - screaming at me and pacing around the store in an aggressive manner. Honestly, it was terrifying.I calmly asked him to not to talk to me like that and he interrupted me and continued to tell yell at me.Ive never experienced such customer service in my life and meineke should shut him down*** I went to Monro in New London, where Ive been going for years and have always had wonderful service and Bob said that Meineke centers are forced to uphold Meineke warranties, but to get away with not upholding them, they tell customers upon purchase of brakes that they need new rotors and if declined, then they keep that on record and deny all warranties for not accepting suggested services.Larry, from Meineke, told me just this, that the next time I tried to get brakes, I wouldnt be able to because he was putting it in my file that I need rotors

Im so disgusted with the service and the lack of customer service skills here. Im not gonna get too much into details but long story short I went in to get oil change and tire rotation. I found coupon online to get basic oil change ($19.95) , and get free tire rotation with purchase. So walked in told them what I wanted, they proceeded to offer me either the middle of pack oil change or next one up and get free rotation. I believe it was $39.99 and premium was $54.99. Anyway after them telling me couple times I couldnt get free rotation with basic oil change purchase, I pulled phone up and showed them coupon for what I wanted. Lets just say they were not happy and even though I was very polite and respectful I was given a attitude righy from jump street. Right then I knew I was gonna have problems with rest of visit. Sure enough after asking them to rotate tires and I also asked then to put tire I had in trunk on in front drivers side for me cause I knew I had a much balder one in back I needed off car. To wrap this up he told me he couldnt do rotation at all due to his opinion my tire was soo bad tp rotate. So I told him I knew it was bad, so please o need that one off car and please put one in trunk on. Then all of a sudden now he said there were two bad ones so he didnt feel comfortable rotating them. So they basically refused there service due to a made up, bullshit excuse he was worried for my safety. So I walked out of there so incredibly upset and frustrated. So I took pics of my tires and I will be letting every person I know not to do business there. Very unprofessional,cheap, unreasonable and very very poor customer service skills. By way girl at desk was very nice, the older gentleman in back was one who cheated me and made my experience there awful. If they dont reach out to fix this I will continue and continue to let it be known how awful my service and experience was

I brought my car here to the groton area and the man who assisted me, Larry, was extremely rude to not only me, but a customer who was in front of me as well. I should have known right there and then not to have my car repaired here. I brought my car in thinking either I needed a new altenator or a new starter, and I was told I needed a new PCM and they would have to ship the part down to Florida in order to have it rebuilt. He told me it would cost about 700 dollars to fix. I had a hunch that something was not right so when I had asked for my keys back the following day on a Friday, was told no because they were closing up shop soon and it would take them a while to have it put back together to have it towed, and also that I had an outstanding balance to pay for diagnostics. I had to wait an additional 4 days to get it back as they were closed for the holiday weekend. I took my business elsewhere, found out it was the starter and that they at meineke didnt look further into it like they should have. Thankfully I didnt have them do it over there or else I would have paid hundreds more. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Very Bad Experience !I visited your Groton facility today to get the oil Change Service done on my car. I had an appointment for 3:00 PM today. I reached in time, checked in my car. The car was pulled in around 3:40 PM .. and then to my surprise for the first time I was told that there is a plastic pan below the engine of my car which is held by screws and Meineke would charge extra $10 labor to remove that in order to reach the oil filter. I have had this car for more than 4 years, and no one ever has asked me any labor to unscrew that flap and put it back while doing an oil change. My car has been services for oil change at Honda Showroom, VW Showroom, Midas, Expertire and Valvoline and no one ever mentioned such thing to me. This is the first time I was visiting Meineke. I had so much suspicion that may be as the next step I would be asked to pay for unscrewing oil filter. I called off my service and drove back after wasting 50 minutes. I am NOT visiting meineke again, ever !

Told me my axles were leaking, but saw them put grease on them before they came to bring me into the shop. Beware, not a trustworthy shop

Amazing service

I have waited awhile to post, because I wanted my anger to subside. We visited this location on November 1st to have an estimate, and hopefully a repair on a few issues. We had a noticeable fluid leak of unknown origins, noise from brakes, and needed an oil change. We were told our fluid leak was a $200 fix for a hose from our transmission, a caliper was warped, our pads were shot, and fluid saturation was our main brake issue. We were quoted over $300 to fix. We got an oil change, and decided to get a second opinion. The next shop we visited charged us $20 to replace the $2 hose that caused the leak, said the front brakes were fine and the fluid had never been able to leak on the brakes, discovered our noise was from a rear brake, and did all this work for less than $100! Was it just because our van had Iowa plates or do you take advantage of everyone?

Oil change was done fast!

Horrible service. Told them the problem and they still decided to give a 106 dollar diagnostic test . Then went in to tell them we didnt want to use them and the manager wanted to bargain and take a hundred dollars off without looking at anything and that was the second time he lowered the price.

Came in for emissions 2 people ahead no problem, receptionist was unpleasant and turned away 2 people while waiting for oil change saying “were kinda busy”. Clean area quiet place, don’t think I would come back for regular maintenance again

I had an oil change at Meineke recently. The service was very poor and the guy at the front desk had very bad manners. There were many hidden charges, so my oil change cost almost twice as much as advertised. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
