Good customer service this day. Bought online for customer pickup. Got there and found something I liked better that was not on their site. I had used PayPal on the one for pickup and I expected some confusion. Not at all. They applied the money paid by giving me a store card. Then with a couple of entries on my phone for their charge card, I got $15 off on the other item. Spend $30 less. 😊

Went to purchase a bike and pickup tomorrow. Lady at front told me to go online purchase and select pickup in store. Another lady said no you can purchase here today. Went over to tag bike gentleman said we cant hold this bike didnt you come prepared to pickup? Extremely rude. Was walking out and asked lady who was the store manager. Chewing her gum and rolling her eyes she said uhh. Doug I think. Whats Dougs last name.. uh Lee. Omg..I know retail is struggling but train your people to have a little decent customer service. I normally shop in this store but lately the service is horrible!

Some of the employees acted like I was unworthy of being greeted or being offered assistance.Especially the one in the handgun dept.He did greet me when I initially walked up.I was at the counter 10 minutes looking at the handguns and he just stood over midway the counter looking down at his phone(or something).No offer of assistance at all.Wasnt busy with another customer either.I had gone into Academy Sports to purchase a handgun on the recommendation of friends who raved about the great service they got when their handgun purchase was made.

I both 2 guns from this store and I had no issues. I try to get a revolver and the address on my permit was my old address. The sale associate told me I need a new permit which I did and returned 3 days later. Unknown to me he flagged me in the system and I couldnt purchase the revolver for 30 days according to them. I contact corporate nothing was done, talk to 2 managers still nothing was done. I chose my battles and this was not one of them so I took my business somewhere else. The only reason I can see for being flagged is Being black and not trust worthy and this sale associated took upon himself to flag me in a the entire academy database to make sure I don t into another store to buy the gun after he told me all I needed was a new permit matching my current address. And management didnt care and never followed up and I am sure not measures were taken to avoid thus type of incident and the future.

My friend is a first time gun buyer, he was nervous about the process so I went with him. He didnt understand where my friend lived and before the 4473 came out. I simply explained where he lived and the old white man working the counter freaked out and threatened not to sell him the gun. The old man was having trouble understanding so I simply tried to help. He also made my friend verify the serial number of the gun. Im pretty sure thats his job. Then he hid in the back so I couldnt get his name tag. Completely rude. I have been a long time customer and have bought many guns here but never again. Academy you should vet your employees for anger issues.

Shopped this afternoon between 4:00 -5:00 pm, not crowded, and store was stocked somewhat ok. Handgun ammo is almost nonexistent. Pool supplies were very low. Overall, good shopping 🛒

A adult toy store. Me and my wife walk around this place for hours catching deals and checking out new items. Cant wait to go back. Employees or super friendly and always ready to help

I cant speak for everyone,, but overall it depends on the supervisor you have. At any job there will be one of those difficult supervisor. The job is good overall. Just make sure you are comfortable and make your request known and heard. If you dont speak up, you can get used

Greeted at the store front and told where what I was looking for could be found.

I was able to return a pair of sneakers I received as a Christmas gift that were purchased online. This was my 2nd time entering the store so I dont have a very high opinion of it because I dont have much experience. From what I saw there are some really good deals and a huge variety. Some staff may need improved customer service skills.

Very frustrating to buy much with this company online. The employees at the store were friendly and helpful, but if ordering for pickup, or purchasing a few of one thing in different colors to get your BOGO sale, expect not all of your items to be in stock when you go pick up your order. I had to go find a different items so I could get my discount BOGO offer. But this was my first time, hopefully if I order from there again the process will go smoother!🤞

They advertise lowest prices but I have found same items for less. They do have a wide selection thoAs a follow up to my review... I participated in a survey after visiting Academy Sports in Greenville NC. I had some criticism regarding their military discount program. I received a call shortly after submitting the survey. Brian, the Operations Manager, listened to my concerns and we ironed out our differences. Now I am looking forward to my next visit so that I can spend the gift card that he generously sent.I am very pleased with the way my concern was handled; what more can you ask for? Great selection and caring customer service. Im changing my rating to 5 stars.

Best man store in the area!!! Seems like $400 is the magic number every time we go. They even have killer columbia deals regularly; just picked up a winter vest for less than $25! This place has literally every type of outdoor thing you could want from footballs to kayaks. Its good to have an all purpose outdoor store in our area now.

Absolutely terrible. we drove 2 hours to this place to pick up a bike that said it had already been built. got there waited 20 minutes just for soemone to come out and tell us the bike wasn’t made yet so just very frustrated that the communication was poor. we will have to drive another 2 hours on tuesday again but hopefully it’s built this time.

I got a gun cabinet the first safe was default. I return it got another one that have been return to store and resold. It had missing part and was damage on the outside. When to store return it again couldnt find information on transaction. They could care less about how long it took us get their. No friend at all will not do business with.them no more. Before this I had borrowed several guns from them. No more

It would be great if the staff could work faster than a sloth. Had my purchase permit and license to pickup a firearm I ordered and paid for online. Website said I could do a pickup. Sat out in the heat 10 mins after clicking button that I was at store. Nothing. Called and told to come in.There are three people back here. Young lady is very good but the other two just taking their dear sweet time. I would have not bought cold stuff that is now sitting in my car if I knew how slow this would be.

Walked in the store up to an associate asked if they sold metal detectors 1st answer out of her mouth was we do not . I walked around the store and found metal detectors near the fishing equipment.The store was in Greenville North Carolina
