I just moved to the area was trying to find a good shop to service my car, definitely did not like my interaction with the guy working the front desk. That was enough for me not to even want to deal with this shop......yes I was the customer that said it would act up if u went past 80...I also stated that if u drove the car long enough it would start acting up. However, if u pushed it past 80 then it would happen quicker, instead of trying to help with the issue u got stuck on the speed of the car in acted as if that was the only way to acknowledge the issue with the engine. Then said youd charge me 100 plus dollars for a check engine diagnoses but couldnt guarantee that would tell u any issue with my engine. Seems to me once I said the speed u just gave up on trying to help in the matter.

My 15 year old Accord was draining the battery each day and unable to start. The electrical systems checked out okay but still problem persisted. They kept at it and found an intermittent drain and fixed it. Great work solving a very hidden electrical issue.

Great experience here! I took my car here because I had just purchased it and I was hearing some noises I was unfamiliar with. When I called and went in the guys I talked to were very friendly. They recommended I do a pre-purchase inspection. They looked over the vehicle in its entirety for 109.95. The 109.95 also comes with credits for four free oils changes. A slight cost for fully synthetic oil but its a great deal either way! Anyway. Turns out nothing was wrong with my car. It is not every day where you go to a place like this and are told all is good. I like the honest service because too many places try to get you to buy things you do not need. Recommendations were made based on mileage of course but no necessities. Thanks North Hills!

First of all they held my car for 2 weeks I told him it was a convertible a ragtop a 97 BMW Z3. Asked to keep it out of the rain. Of course they did not. All ll it needed was a fuel pump and they burned my starter up trying to to figure out the problem. it . So I was out a starter and a fuel pump do not go here.

I had recently had it checked elsewhere down the street and was told to “drive it around til it gets worse” .....North Hills checked as a courtesy, found a roofing nail, plugged the tire, efficiently and all without appt.Excellent attitudes and care.

I took my car in to get diagnostic test and decided to get an oil change...they put me on notice that whomever did repair on my car..put an after market sensor on it..as well put the wrong blend of oil in my car. Rest assured I will take my car there from now on...

Highly recommend this place! Honest and TrustworthyMy sister brought her 2007 Honda Accord here for a few concerns.1. Regarding a noise when she turned on the car - they explained the reason for this and said the sound wasn’t doing any harm to the car or effecting it’s driving . But to fix it would cost $1,000 bc they would have to take the motor apart and some other stuff2. Then they said the power steering was making some kinda humming noise , again wasn’t doing any harm and to fix that it would be $700.3. they said the battery was weak , so she did get that fixed for $150A lot of car shops I feel would say those expensive issues were a huge deal and would need to be fixed ASAP. She was very thankful and happy that they said those problems wouldn’t affect the car and that she would just have to be ok with those noises.So what could have been a very expensive trip to the shop over $1,850, she just took care of what they said had to be fixed and left paying only $150

Like many others have mentioned, North Hills is more expensive than expected. I ended up taking my car elsewhere for half the price. I am sure they do a fine job if you have more money than you know what to do with.

Had several older cars worked on here. They are very fast and did a fine job on my backup cars. They prove the saying, “time is money” by offering a shuttle service. My wife had to wait weeks to get her car repaired in NC before I had her bring it to North Hills.

Awesome experience to be had here. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the office is pleasant to be in, and the service staff are professional and accommodating. Highly recommended if you are looking for a more efficient alternative for Land Rover/ Range Rover. They also offer a oil change discount program for maintaining a full inspection on your vehicle, which is a little more upfront but definitely a deal in the long term maintenance of your vehicle.

Great experience with them and super kind people and love that they can drop me off at home and pick me back up. The only real issue is that it was incredibly pricey for a the break job. Ended up costing 500 dollars and some change. This was for a rotor machining for the front and a brake pad change for the front. For the rear it’s a drum brake and I believe they just machined it as well. It just seem really pricey because when I went to get another cars brake job at firestone it only cost me around 280 dollars. I’m not sure if drum brakes are just that much more expensive to work on but I just went with it because I was in a pinch and needed the job done. Maybe they use higher quality parts. I’m not sure exactly. This didn’t include any other jobs on the car. Great business they have but just know it is on the pricier side and I’m not sure if their higher prices are worth it.

North Hills always does a terrific job. I never feel like Im being taken advantage of and I always feel like they are honest and upfront about what they find. And, their customer service is top notch- theyre always happy to drop you off/pick you up.

Honestly, I dont recommend this place. Below is my experience with them and you be the judge. My wifes car had a broken bushing/cable on the transmission, so I asked her to take the car to closest North hill location in Augusta Road mainly because I saw some good reviews here. The average cost of repairing the cable should be around $162 to $183, and the quote we received from this location was $470, which is more than 2x. On top of that they asked for additional $640 dollar for a set of tires, because one of the tires apparently got flat when the car was parked there overnight. So, after receiving this quote, my wife asked about the details on the quote and the representative went to some kind of argument with her and at the end they said they dont want to fix the car at all. So, I had to go there, change the tire with a spare tire and drive the car to anther mechanic. This team also charged me $50 for diagnosing the issue, in the case that we actually knew what the problem was. I must say that one of the mechanics there was kind enough to manually place the car on the drive mode so I can take the car to another shop (without the need to wait for AAA tow truck). That was nice of him. I took the car to another transmission shop and they only charged me $190 for labor and part. I would never take my car to North Hill, I already told my colleagues about my experience there. If you dont want to pay a lot more than what the actual repair costs, avoid this place. They are saying that we were blaming them for flat tire, not true. I am extremely happy that they did not want to work on the car leading me not to get ripped off. For a repair that costs $190 plus $25 Patching a tire, they wanted to charge $1110. They say it was for my safety, but really they were trying to cover their overhead thinking that they wont get challenged (I say that as a Mechanical Engineer who work on safety for living). They also say that they fired us as a customer, so watch out, thats the language they speak.

My first time at north hills and it was nothing short of amazing! Staff was very friendly. My car was finished in a timely manner. My favorite part was the shuttle!! It really helped me tremendously. Highly recommend!

We have used North Hills for the past 2 years and have always been very satisfied with the friendly service we have received. They replaced a starter and when the new one began to not work correctly, they made room for us on the schedule and replaced it immediately. This is the only auto shop I use to get my oil changed and other routine maintenance. The workers are very friendly and helpful, and the waiting area is perfect if you have little kids. I brought my toddler and baby with me, and not only is the waiting area clean, they also had a basket of cars that kept my toddler entertained the whole time (plus coffee for me!). They also brought my car close to the door so I didn’t have far to go when I loaded up my kids in the rain. Thanks for making an oil change a pleasant experience!

I found myself with a flat tire on the way to a critical doctor appointment for my child. I called a few towing companies. They seemed unprofessional. The 3rd time searching on my phone, I recognized the beautiful building from the picture online. I called and the gentleman was professional and helpful! They fixed my tire and changed my oil all while their free shuttle service brought and picked us up from GHS for his appointment! I could not be more grateful to North Hills for the care and hard work.

I took my Honda Accord to North Hills for some emergency repair during December of 2010. North Hills was great about getting me in quickly and getting my Honda in working order the same day. The prices were definitely on the high side compared to other shops. I was new to the area, so I hadnt really shopped around at all. After paying my bill, I went to get my car and it wasnt out front. Asked the guy at the front desk and he mentioned that it was parked out back. My car was parked in the back of their crowded lot and I had to walk back there and find it. I have since noticed that as of March 2012 they now have more space on their lot after moving their used car business. Once in my car I noticed that although they had charged me for an oil change, no sticker was placed on my windshield giving me the mileage point of my next oil change. I think for the price they charge, North Hills could offer much better service. Ive found other mechanics that are honest and far more courteous at a drastically lower price.

First of all, I have use them on multiple occasions in the past. I had a check engine light and some car troubles. I had them evaluate my car. Service fee to diagnose was $125 which would not be able to be put towards any repairs. I then decided to get quotes from other mechanics for the same repairs. North Hills was asking 25 to 30% more than the dealer service center! I have never seen a mechanic the charges more than the dealer service center. I went back to speak with associate at NH, he tried to explain why they charged so much more than the dealer let alone other mechanics. I let the associate know that I thought he was taking advantage of me, this upset him and he turned around and walked away ending the conversation abruptly. All that being said, in the past theyve done decent work. I now just wonder how much they have overcharged me for previous repairs. If you do use them please do your homework and make sure theyre not overcharging you

12/30/15--I went to North Hills at the recommendation of several friends, and it was by far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic. My car blew a starter, and North Hills was able to get it towed and fixed all in a day. They followed up with me at each stage, and were incredibly helpful and friendly. Whats more, the complementary shuttle service is very convenient and a huge blessing--I loved my ride with Hank. My best wishes to Jay and the guys. I will definitely be back, though hopefully not for some time!

These guys were awesome. I had picked up a screw whole driving around Greenville before my 5 hour drive home. The guys at North Hills Auto got me in quick and plugged my tire right away. Even though they were busy they got me on the road in about twenty minutes.

I purchased a 2006 Honda Odyssey from North Hills last month and could not possibly be more pleased at the service and courtesy. The car was immaculate, fine tuned down to every detail. They were quick and very professional except for the 4 prepaid oil changes we bought. We were under the impression that we were purchasing 4 normal oil changes. We took the vehicle in and they put in synthetic oil in it and wanted to charge us the additional amount. I said, thats not right, we bought the oil change assuming we could bring the vehicle in at no additional cost. They disagreed as if we somehow should have known that. They also said that if they put in normal oil it would void our warranty. I gave them a 4 star review instead of 3 because they didnt end up charging us. But I did feel like it was a bait and switch kind of thing and Im sure some people end up paying. I will not be purchasing this deal again.

Way to expensive. Equal to dealership rates or higher. Had a sensor replaced, an hour job they charged me $330. $257 has labor, ridiculous! Ill go to the dealership next time.

This was my first visit to NHA on Augusta Road, where I took my 2018 4-Runner for a 30,000 mile service after moving to Greenville in June 2019. The staff was professional and courteous, and they kept me apprised of the progress of the work while I waited. And, so far, it appears that the service work was done well and professionally.Although I would prefer a lower cost, I am comfortable that the work was done well, that the cost was fair, and that NHA will stand behind its work.

Great experience at ever turn. They were prompt, provided a fair estimate, and werent pushy with other upsells. Not only did they finish sooner than they said originally, but they were able to pick me up from the office to get my car. Ill definitely use them again.

Jay and his staff are great. We have had all our cars serviced there. They tell you all about your car, what the prices are and how long it will take. They let you decide what services you would like to do. They have a very nice waiting room that looks over the service area and they also have a service that will take you where you want to go and pick you up if needed. They are very friendly and do great work. Glad we found them!

I have a 1990 Toyota & was having a strange sound under my hood, so although they couldnt fix the problem they were very informative as to why they couldnt & why it wasnt neccessary to try & fix the issue. They basically said in a nice way it was time for a new car. I know if it could be fixed it wouldve been fixed. I recomend them to anyone!! They are very nice & have great customer service. I even love that they will come to pick you up if your car is either already fixed, or if you need a ride to work from dropping your car off with them.

I got my truck back from North Hills this morning and I wanted to say Thank you for a job well done. I own a 23 year old truck with over 300,000 miles on it (new engine only has 40K) and couldnt figure out an odd engine noise and a brake issue so I took it to North Hills.They found the cause of both issues and informed me BEFORE they performed the repairs. They also informed me of a potential future issue without pressuring me to fix it right now.Good work, and good service. Thanks again

I did have a glowing review after my first visit until my truck over heated again the next day which was what I originally took in in for (unfortunately the heater also no longer worked when I picked it up and the tech said to get that working again I needed a new water pump) ...without getting into other details all I’m asking is that the manager get the techs who worked on my truck together and ask this simple question “did we miss something here” does a clutch fan and a radiator and water pump all fail at exact same time keeping in mind that the radiator and water pump were installed less than 3 years ago.

Great shop that provides quality work and honest quotes. They offer quality coffee, free wi-fi, and most importantly - free shuttles. I would take my vehicle here for almost all of my repairs. Ive used this location and their location on E. Butler Road with no complaints.

I had a slow leak in my tire; called; they told me to run by right then and it would take 5 minutes; they had mechanics working on lots of cars so the guy behind the desk came out and fixed it in 5 minutes and sent me on my way without charge. Nice, clean waiting room and restroom, free Keurig coffee that I did not drink in light of their many kindnesses. They are determined to give folks class-A service.

I found out about North HIlls Automotive through a Group On. The are very professional. I love that they have a courtesy shuttle service. I am able to drop my car off and they take me to work, when the work is completed they come and pick me up. So convenient and they do a through job and are always friendly. I have not had to have any major repair done, but I have decided that I wont go anywhere else for my oil changes...

My car is an older car, 1994 740iL BMW. I was in Greenville attending a Convention when the Water Pump went out, which caused some other issues. I called NH. They arranged the tow and repaired the car on a timely manner. They kept me updated on the status if the repair and when I could pick up my car.

I was a little hesitant after reading the negative reviews, but decided to trust my friends recommendation over the negative statements. Im glad I did. Im very pleased with the service I received and the job done on my car. Im grateful for the shuttle service back and forth, and a special thank you to Hank for showing me a quicker route than the navigation system in my car! Quick and professional as to be expected!

Took car in because it wouldn’t crank. They couldn’t re-create the problem still charged for diagnostic. A few weeks later the engine blows and we just bought the car. This after already getting a new starter from them from when it didn’t work earlier. They are above average for pricing but we went there for the guarantee, but that doesn’t help us when they can’t locate the prphlegm. We have made 6 or so visits with our vehicles. We have been misdiagnosed/undiagnosed twice. I just can’t trust them moving forward. They are nice people though.

I would not recommend this specific location based on my experiences with them. North Hills Automotive is a good business to use (provided you dont mind the high prices), but do yourself a favor and drive to any of their other locations. We regularly take our vehicles to the Butler Road shop and have been quite satisfied.

We have been taking our cars to North Hills for many years now. We always receive excellent, courteous service. They stand by their work even when our older vehicles give them fits ;) We highly recommend North Hills Automotive!

I will have to admit that the location is great and the staff that I interacted with were professional and courteous....that being said, in my recollection, we never brought in a vehicle that didnt have to be returned to the shop because it was fixed correctly. First car that we brought in was our Toyota 4Runner for new brakes. On the drive home we could see that it still had issues. Every time the brakes were applied it shook violently. We returned the car and they fixed it....well sort of....we still had a slight shaking issue for another month. Car #2....Jeep Wrangler with the AC not working this spring. We brought the car in and they had it fixed the next day and we picked it up. AC seemed to be working fine...but it was this spring and we really didnt use it much because of the cooler temperatures. Everything seemed great....but we quickly noticed that something seemed different with the shifter knob. It didnt feel like it was is in the same location as it was before the work was done. Driving it later that day it started kicking out of gear when it was placed in 2nd or 4th gear. I returned the car and told them that this had never happened before. They promptly had it fixed and told me to come pick it up. It was explained to me that the shifter boot needed adjustment and that they did nothing wrong but were happy to fix it. They didnt fix it.....so the car went back to the shop. This time they explained that the shifter boot was too thick and that if they removed it that this would work....and they asked me to come to drive the car to prove that this was the best solution.....Yea!...it worked...but now i have a big hole in the center console which looked ridiculous. I was frustrated and didnt feel like dealing with North Hills anymore so I ordered a custom leather shifter boot from England (Which fixed the problem). Seeing this company in my rear view mirror I was happy to move on.....Until the warm temperature started creeping up on us and I turned on the AC.....working great....but I started to hear a small hiss every thirty seconds....seriously? Back to the shop. I went to pick it up at the end of the day and it I was told that it was some paper in the glove box was getting caught in the air intake that was making the noise....easy fix...I felt a little silly for bringing it in.....until i left and heard the same hissing noise....i got home and totally removed the glove box to see if that was still the problem. Nope.....back to the shop. Called to see if it was ready and they responded Yes....i asked what the issue was...they told me that the AC worked great (i agreed) and that nothing was wrong with it....they checked for leaks and found nothing. They concluded that it might be a pressure relief valve and that it only happened in 1st or 2nd gear....my last question, before, I lost it was....so I just have to deal with this noise for the life of my car?.....Yes was the response....after my embarrassing tirade they told me that maybe it was time for me to find a different shop....this was the best advice that I had received in a long time.....thank you for that.....and nothing else

North Hills Automotive gets 5 stars from me.Im new to the area and wasnt sure where to take my van for service.After checking on-line rewiews Im very happy to report that this is the only place I would take my business.They fixed my van faster then expected, the pricing is good and the waiting area is clean with free coffee and tv to help pass the time.Thank you North Hills Automotive for doing what you do.

North Hills has always done a great job for me. Very professional and they make sure the problem is fixed. Not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for. Much better value than going to the dealership.

I have been going here for many years and have had great service. I can remember years ago walking in and getting a free oil change just because we were good customers. Today ended my recommendations of North Hills. I was charged $45.10 for an oil change, the most I have ever been charged there. I called Firestone afterwards and asked their price ...and the same oil change including checking belts and fluids would have been $28.

The perfect solution to my German car needs. I used to buy a new Mercedes or BMW every other year or so, selling or trading before the warranty ran out. Got smarter and have been keeping my cars - these guys are the answer to my out of warranty fears... They have certified Mercedes and BMW mechanics and their prices are MUCH lower than the dealerships pricing. Do yourself a favor and get your import serviced here!

5/13/13 I took the vehicle in for an air conditioner repair, serviced, and returned as repaired for $175. I had told them to check the radiator fan because the system didnt cool when the vehicle was not moving and I noticed a strain on the engine at idle when the compressor started. They said it checked out OK. On 6/11 I returned the vehicle because the AC was still not cooling until the vehicle was moving. They replaced the radiator (as I suspected) fan and I let them replace the timing belt at the same time for a total of $1998.77. The vehicle was returned smelling like cigarette smoke and greasy hand prints on the body of the vehicle. I let them know about the smoke smell and they said they had decided to change their policy.On 5/1/14 I returned the car for an air conditioner repair. They replaced a leaking hose, recharged and also charged me for replacing a lamp in the 3rd brake light. I picked up the car. It had a very strong smell of cleaning fluid and some cigarette smoke smell. They said, no one smokes in the car, but they put air freshener in the car and vents. Total cost was about $512.00. When I followed my wife home, I found the 3rd brake light tail light was still burned out.I went back to the shop, they opened the tail light cover, said oh it smoked the light again. Then he admitted they forgot to replace the bulb.At this visit I said the other man said they dont smoke in the cars, but do they smoke in the shop? He replied, yes. So if youre a non smoker and you want the car repaired correctly the first time, this is not the place to go.I have to say, everyone working in North Hills is very polite, courteous, and friendly. If thats what you like, then go there, but ignore the smoke smell and expect to return to have repairs corrected.Otherwise I believe the repairs will be corrected and they are honest enough to admit when they make a mistake.
