Please DO NOT use this body shop. The worst paint service ever. waited for 45 days and got my car back destroyed after paying a ransom to Robert. He told me it will take him 5 days to do the job and asked for a deposit Wich I gladly provide without hesitation (big mistake) it took 6 weeks. Pictures talk for itself, 6 weeks after the agree time and having spent $4,500 in car rental, he keeps telling me the same thing as the other review (below review for the black truck), buffing isnt going to solve the problem and now another reputable shop quote $2,000 just to get rid of Robert failure plus $1,800 to paint it again. If you want to throw money to the trash go with Robert, he will make sure to put the lowest quality paint and clear to your car.Im out of $6,200 and a car that looks like a 1970 John Deere tractor thats had worked all his year under the sun.

PLEASE READFirst of all, I almost never submit online reviews, but this place is a borderline scam and I felt compelled to warn others. Also, I had to cut out a lot my terrible experience to meet the character limit on this review. I bought my truck while in Iraq. When I got back to the States I started looking for someone to do a full color change paint job (white to black). I asked around but couldn’t get any recommendations. I found a couple shops including Robert’s (Stretchs Autobody). Robert seemed to have decent online reviews (which after my experience I have to question their validity). I went to his shop for an estimate and he showed me another vehicle he had just painted. The quality seemed ok but ultimately I chose Robert because he said he could start right away while the other shops said they were backed up two months or so. Robert said it would take him a week to finish the job. I thought a week turnaround was quick but I figured he knew what he was talking about. A week went by and I didn’t hear from him so I called. He said the vehicle should be ready in a few days. Once that day came I again didn’t hear from him so I called and he said it wasn’t ready but should be in a few days. Long story short this went on for five weeks. A deadline would come and go so I would call him and hear a fresh round of excuses with no end in sight. During this time I heard every excuse in the book: the rain delayed him, he ran out of materials, he didn’t have any help, his tractor broke down in the way and he couldn’t move any cars. At one point he said something about a doctor’s appointment, and the list goes on and on. Perhaps what was most annoying was that I was always the one who had to reach out if I wanted an update. I dealt with Robert off and on for over two months for him to complete a job that he originally said would take one week, and during that time he never once picked up the phone to call me, even after he missed his own deadlines repeatedly. After five weeks of this nonsense I got heated with him on the phone and honestly I think that’s the only reason he finally got around to working on my vehicle. I told him I was going to come and pick it up the following day in whatever condition it was in. I got there that day and he had JUST finished spraying the truck. Obviously I couldn’t drive it away, so I had to wait to pick it up. I later brought the truck back for the final wet sand which also took longer than was quoted. I finally got the truck back and after washing it I saw the state of the paint that you can hopefully see in the pictures. There was a haze and scratches on practically every surface. The runs in the paint were still there as well as the dimples. The orange peel was evident in many places. The white stuff you see is the compound he didn’t buff out. How do you miss white compound on black paint? I immediately took the truck to a paint correction place as I was done with Robert at this point. I ended up going to four different shops and talked to a handful of guys about it. They could hardly believe this was the finished product that he gave to a customer. They all told me that the issues were the result of him cutting corners in the prep stage. I’m now waiting for another shop to fix his handiwork. It truly does look much worse in person, particularly in the sunlight. To sum it up, I would strongly advise that you avoid this place at all cost. I’m not sure if Robert is lazy or incompetent or both. I originally thought he was just unprofessional for missing deadlines and not keeping me posted, but I found out he does shoddy work too. If you’re looking for a shop to paint your car, DC Customs in Inman came highly recommended. If you need body repair, Custom Collision Cycle in Taylors is a good shop. I found these places the hard way trying to fix Robert’s mess. I really wish I went to them first.
