Hi. i went here looking for a steering wheel for an older craftsman lawn mower. most places i went the parts were discontinued or on line. twice the price and 2-3 weeks delivery. the associate there looked at the steering wheel, went into the back for about 5 minutes and came out with a replacement steering wheel! half the cost for on line orders! these people are very knowledgeable, professional and courteous! I highly recommend A-1 for all your parts and maintenance needs! thank you.

Work was done in about 5 days, but over a holiday weekend so no problem there…. Price was fair but the office was very disorganized. They spent 20 minutes trying to find my ticket while I stood there holding my displeased toddler. Did not inspire confidence that they have things together…

DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE! This place is currently going out of business (as of late July 2019, from what I heard by a reliable source). Our John Deere riding mower was supposedly serviced by them a couple months ago, given a tune up (sic) for a couple hundred bucks this spring. Come to find out they didnt do hardly ANYTHING! Its currently sitting in ANOTHER companys shop, who told me just now on the phone that 1) the oil is tar & gunk, was NEVER changed like we paid for, 2) the spark plug is black and rusted out, when we paid for it to be checked or replaced by A1, and 3) various engine problems present (including a mice nest!) that would indicate that A1 Small Engine didnt do a darn thing to our mower, when they had it for 2-3 weeks this spring.Im disgusted and furious at the ripoff scam service, but honestly the red-flags/warnings signs were there all along. The owner has a combative blow-up relationship with his....wife? accountant? female clerk? and I heard rumors of embezzlement or something fraudulant last year with that whole relationship. I was there in person once and had the extreme misfortune of watching them verbally arguing and bickering openly in front of customers, very hostile and awkward to witness. So it wasnt any great surprise to me to hear theyre closing up shop, although I was disappointed to learn that we spent all that money this past spring, all for nothing. Im going to dispute the charges with my credit card company for sure, and file a BBB complaint. Hopefully A1 Small Engine doesnt screw over too many more customers before going out of business. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Treats you decent when selling you a part but do not have them work on your equipment. Wanted to charge me 30. And some change and still wasnt running. To my snowblower in to them, they said it would get looked at within a couple days, I called them 8 days later, still not looked at, this was before 10:00 a.m. he said they would look at it right away and call me back, this was 3 days ago. Must be they are only selecting the customers they want to help by reading these reviews. Will try another local business. Seems like this one doesnt want mine.

My Craftsman lawn mower conked out on me in the middle of mowing so I thought I might be in the market for a new one. Instead brought it to these guys and although they said it would be three weeks they had it done in less than two. It needed a number of things done to get it up and running but when I picked it up it was like a brand new unit. And I was very impressed with the charges, I expected to spend quite a bit more based on all they ended up doing. Ill definitely be back, although I hope I dont have to.

I brought my snow blower in 4 months before winter. They took 3 and a half months to fix it and kept it outside in the rain for 3 AND A HALF MONTHS. They said they needed to fix other things because it was more profitable. Now it is rusted as hell and they didnt give me any discount for basically destroying my snow blower. So it snows and the snow blower doesnt work. This place is a scam. Plus they made fun of me to my face for not being able to start my own snow blower when I picked it up. As it turns out there was no gas in it.

Completely unprofessional and irresponsible. They took 4 months to fix our snowblower. We didnt need it at the time, so it wasnt a huge deal. When we went to pick it up it was COVERED in rust. They had left it sitting outside in the rain for the entire 4 months. When we mentioned it they basically brushed it off and didnt seem to care that they had destroyed our snowblower. I would recommend you take your items somewhere else.

You are a hypocrite,. So just to let others know you some how forgot to mention the money we took off your bill. This is just to let others know of your lying character. Our family brought in a scooter to be worked on and were told 1 week $50. My husband kept going in to see how it was going after a week and they came up with a lot of excuses. They are behind, had to fire someone, ect. We were told the carburetor had been taken off and was soaking. Finally after 3 weeks of it not getting fixed we decided to forget it and pick it up. His wife was rude and yelling in my husbands face that her husband is the best mechanic in this area. Sadly we have no idea since he did nothing to our scooter. We were charged $20 for it to sit for 3 weeks. When getting it home and looking at it it had not been taken apart but yet the wires were riped off of it. We called down to let them know what they had did and the wife simply hung up on us. This is just disgusting how they run there buisness and treat customers. Dont waist your time or money.

I was hoping to purchase a used snow blower for the winter season but I’ll just buy new at this point. I stopped by the business and I stood in their office for 10 minutes without ever being acknowledged. A woman and some other gentleman who worked there seemed to be pre-occupied with something else and must have overlooked my presence as they passed through the office. I could hear them yelling at one another about upcoming scheduled drop offs etc. - just very unprofessional. There was even another customer in the office with me and he made the comment he’d never have them repair his equipment. That was my sign to dip out. Go somewhere else for you small engine needs.

The owner of this shop is a thief. He sold me a mower that appeared to be a good purchase and told me that if I had any problems, to just bring it by and hed take care of it. In the first summer, I brought it back 3 times. This mower is a lemon. The muffler is gone, the front wheels keep breaking off, and that is all in addition to the problems that I had to bring the mower back for. The people who work here are rude and are liars. I normally give people the benefit of the doubt and I did in this case, 3 times! I was disappointed each time. Especially when I had to pay for repairs on a mower I just bought.

I have no problem typing a review of a good experience; I tend to stay away from typing negative reviews as I look at it as being a waste of my time and I have better things to do.From time to time I will make an exception. I called them to pick up my riding lawnmower that hadnt been serviced in over 2 years, I figured it was time for a tune up. They came and picked it up (for a $40 charge) which was no problem as I had no way to transport it myself. 2 weeks went by and I called to check on the mower and they said that it was ready and that they would deliver it the next day. I asked how much it would be, they told me ~$200 for a belt, filter, oil change and sharpening of the blades. Fine, sounded good to me. So the next day they delivered it. I had the check already written out. I got on the mower and tried to start it up and it wouldnt turn over. I told the lady that delivered it that I expect after paying $200 for a tuneup that it purrs like a kitten, she called someone on the phone and he told her because it was cold out that it may not start… Nope, sorry try again, Then he said that the battery may have needed replaced. That is when I started to get annoyed. At no time did I get a call from A1 saying, hey your battery is shot, its going to cost you $x amount of money, do you want to replace the battery?” 9 times out of ten I would have said, yes, just go ahead and replace it. But they delivered a non working riding lawnmower and when asked why the guy on the phone said that he was trying to keep the costs down. Which is nice and everything but I didnt send it in with the intention of getting it back needing another part. So I sent it back with the lady and told them to figure it out and that I was not happy. Come to find out it WAS the battery. They replaced the battery ($52 more) and delivered it the next day. It started right up and I cut my grass for the first time of the season. The next day I was going to move the mower from my garage to the back yard and it wouldnt start, wasnt even clicking. So I took the battery out and went back to A1 and requested a refund, she tested the battery and saw that it was a dud. She said that she would be willing to give me another SPARTON battery. I said, no thank you I would just like a refund of my money. All in all they cut me a check for the battery I ended up going to batteries + and I showed them a picture of the SPARTON battery and they said that it was a $32 battery. (they charged me $52) So I ended up getting the top of the line SUPER EXTREME battery for $45 from Batteries plus. The last thing that didn’t sit well with me, after sending in my lawnmower and paying $200+ for a tune up I would expect it to be cleaned in some kind of way, at the very least blown down. When I got it back it still had grass all over it. I wasn’t expecting a detail job of the mower but was kind of expecting to feel like they took ‘care’ of it. Over all I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not use their services in the future I know there are other places in GR. They may charge a little more but at the end of the day YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I wanted them to work out because I wouldve had no problem calling them year after year. But my business will be going elsewhere.
