I took my car for repair because it was making loud sound. They told me it was the converter that needs replacement which they replaced and I was charged $620. I went to pick the car and there was no change in the loud sound that I complained about initially. The Manager then told me the loud sound was probably not the converter problem and acknowledged it was his fault that he could have diagnosed the car before assuming it was a converter issue. I asked them what they could do for me because I cant spend $620 for nothing and he said he will explain the issue with the owner and he will give me a call. I waited for days for the owner to call me and they kept promising he will until I went to the shop and refused to leave. The owner called me on my phone with a hidden number, he made a false claim about the issue and harassed me to leave his shop or he will charge me for trespassing. I was so embarrassed and surprised that people who provide service to the public would behave like that. I even suggested they remove their converter from my car and refund my money but he said they wont do that. I had to just leave and let their conscience judge because that attitude of the owner was a dubious one. Why did they refuse to give me his number and why did he call me with an hidden number if he has nothing to hide. The Manager named Ken was nicer because he took responsibility for his fault but the owner only cares about money and was very rude.

I took in my 2015 rav4 to get my 2 front brake pads and rotors replaced, after inspection they call and tell me both calipers are fused together and need to be replaced. Bringing the cost of the job from around $400 to $800. Knowing the symptoms of stuck calipers I called their BS and took the $67 hit for the inspection charge. I immediately brought my car next door to another shop where they inspected it and told me that my calipers work perfectly and only my pads and rotors need replaced. Meanwhile prior to me being serviced here at lentz, I witnessed them attempt to charge a lady $400 to replace an old battery.Needless to say, save yourself time and money and do not go here to get work done. They will take your problems and amplify them by telling you things need replaced that do not.

I installed outer tie rod ends on my 2004 Toyota Camry (a job I had done on this car before) and brought it in for an alignment. They told me they were not installed correctly and that I should have had the work done with them. When I asked what was wrong, the manager Brian stated something was loose but would not give me any more details when I asked. They would not perform the alignment, but proceeded to charged me 56$ to check my suspension. I then took my Camry to another shop for an alignment and they told me the tie rods were installed correctly and proceeded to do an alignment (for less than what Lentz quoted me). I believe the manager Brian took advantage of me for trying to save money and do some of the work myself. When I called back to inform them that another shop confirmed that I had installed the part correctly, the manager Brian became defensive and raised his voice with me stating it was loose, thats the bottom line! I would not recommend giving this shop your business.

My Son dropped his entire exhaust system on Monday night. We went to drop the car off, and Lentz on Mich was already closed. I looked in and saw someone cleaning up and knocked on the door. Brian Small, the manager, opens up and let us drop the parts in the garage instead of leaving them outside. He was very friendly, and even thou it was late, he really made us feel important. The car was fixed the next afternoon, on price and on time. Thanks Brian.

These days, its hard to find reasonable car servicing that doesnt put you in the poor house. I recently went to Lentz to have my leaking oil pan replaced and girded myself to pay a lot. Previously, I had been quoted at a competitor $400 just for the pan alone! Lentz replaced the pan and gave the car an oil change (with new filter) all for just under $500 - which included labor!Brian and the technicians there are super knowledgeable and always give it to you straight :)

Brought my vehicle in as it was making a loud noise related to the exhaust after hitting a pothole. The car is 12 years old, so I assumed something had come loose due to the jarring. I was told there was a broken clamp, and a hole in the resonator. That the repairs would be over $1600 and that they couldnt replace just the clamp and resonator everything had to be replaced so they had to replace the muffler too. After pricing out parts and researching that the resonator could be replaced on its own I decided to take the vehicle to another shop for a second opinion. The other shop looked at the vehicle only found the broken clamp, welded a new clamp and pipe on and was done for $100 in less than an hour.

Super friendly and they dont talk down to you like other repair shops I have been too. Although they werent able to fix the problem in-house due to it being a Ford specific issue that can only be fixed at a dealership, they didnt even charge me for running the diagnostics tests. Ive been charged over $100 in the past just to have someone look at the car and tell me something I already know is wrong with it. Will definitely be taking my vehicle here for any future maintenance.

Ive taken my 2007 Pathfinder here several times as its close to work. Everytime Ive been satisfied with the cost and the work but didnt think anything special of it. Last week I took my car in as I was told by the 10 minute oil change place that my oil sending unit needed repair as it was leaking. So off for repair it went. Fortunately it didnt end up needing any work - seems to have been a much easier fix and after some cleaning all was well. Im writing this as its not often you take your car in and they call to tell you it in fact doesnt need repair. For all the bad reputations auto repair places have I was very pleasantly surprised that they did not perform unneeded work and in fact that didnt even charge for the clean up work they had done. Will definitely be back for the next inevitable repair as well as will recommend to anyone who asks!

I brought my truck in for an oil change and inspection. Brian looked over my car and found a small problem that had been overlooked at the dealership in the past. Because it was under warranty he said I should take it there to have it looked over. When I did the dealership scoffed at the idea they could have missed something, but due to my persistence, they looked it over. Sure enough the exact problem he told me about was there and they had to repair it. They asked me how I found this issue and I told them that my mechanic found it. No question, if I need work, I would rather have Brian and the guys at Lentz look at it than anyone else. They do a great job, try dont over charge (considering he told me it was under warranty and to go get it fixed for free) and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Ive been taking my car here since the Saturn/Suburban dealership shut down and I could no longer get my Saturn serviced there. Brian, the manager, is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Every time Ive called them Ive been able to get my car in that day, if not almost immediately after getting off the phone with them. Several times Ive taken it in for things that turned out to be small and he ended up not even charging me for them. He said Thats one of the perks of being manager--I can make decisions like that. :-) Another nice thing about their location is that the Grand Coney is right across the street so you can go grab a bite to eat or something to drink while youre waiting if you cant leave while your car is being worked on. And the best thing is that theyre only .2 miles from our house :-) Thank you Brian and crew for being there when people really need you.

We scheduled an appointment to have them do a vehicle inspection on a CRV, and they didnt have us on the schedule. However, they were still able to get us in. Afterwards, the guy at Lentz was like theres a hole in the catalytic converter and the resonator is leaking, thats roughly $1,000 alone. I was like no its not. i can buy the parts for $200 online, recyle the old convertor and get $80 back, take the parts to muffler man and theyll put it on for $100, so its only a $220 repair (this is what i did with my other CR-V).Then i asked him to give me an estimate on the oil leak and the rack and pinion leaking, and he was like why dont you go to muffler man? After him throwing a temper tantrum, he takes down my phone number and was supposed to call me back with an estimate. They never called me back. This employee clearly doesnt understand customer service or how to handle confrontation. Will not do any business with them in the future.

I took in my recently purchased 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE, knowing the car is old with 240xxx miles on it, for a simple clutch replacement. Beforehand the car started and ran almost flawlessly given the needed replacement to the clutch. All said and done the repair/replacement cost me $750, which I had no idea if it was worth that being an inexperienced car owner, but out of my pocket came the money. After the clutch was replaced the car wouldnt start. They continued to tell me other things that needed replacement or repair for starting the vehicle, finally. I gathered that the car is now totaled. Whats more, they had NO idea what was going on with it. It went from, oh, your battery is dead, to, your vehicle is dumping gas, to, the tensioner may be worn making the belt loose. Bottom line: Go ELSEWHERE, or call around FIRST.

I went to Monro Muffler and Brake they told me I need brake pads and rotor $350 for the back. My front brakes were 15% but didnt say they needed servicing. I always get a second opinion. I went to Lentz, didnt tell them what was said at Monro. I was told at Lentz I needed pads, and rotors for the front and calibers for the back. So, I asked them do I need pads and rotors for the back as well? they said yes, only after I asked. I told them what I was told at Monro and I find it odd Monro never mentioned I needed calibers and that they never said I needed front brake work. I asked for a print out of an estimate they said $35. I told them never mind. I took my car to Meekof for a third opinion. Meekof told me I needed what Monro had said Rotors and brake pads on back (for $75) less than Monro was charging and my front brakes were at 75% operable. So two repair places never mentioned calipers why did Lentz see a need for the calipers and front brake repair? I find this to be strange. Did the other two repair places not notice this? Being a female we often feel taken advantage of and less trusting of mechanics than our male counterparts. This is why. Mechanics, please, stop taking advantage of customers, get a reputation of being honest and your customers will be your best advertisement, you will do a great deal more business. Oh by the way, Monro told me last year I needed brakes, that was the first time I had gone to Meekof (friend recommended) Meekof told me my brakes were good for at least another year. SMH Im not saying Lentz was dishonest but I would have been out of at least 700-1000 dollars but I got it done for $275 .
