It is rather difficult today to find a good dealership that one can not only trust, but also has great customer service. Overall, they were a very friendly, no pressure customer experience which to me is very important as many dealers only care about pushing sales and can be very aggressive. They were very upfront about the vehicles condition, and had no issue with me taking it to have a pre-purchase inspection. My experience with John and Sons was very positive, they were willing to work with me setting up a time to look at and later purchase the car, and did not sell it out from under me as other people were interested, which many dealers would have done. Overall, I would recommend and would buy another car in the future.

Bought a suv a week ago check engine light already came on,weird vibration noice has occured sounds by the transmission,also a buzzing sound that wont go away,now mind you i test drove it for close to 20 minutes none of these issues occured until the first full day of driving it

I purchased my 2005 toyota sienna from john and sons auto sales about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to be able to drive the vehicle for a while before giving a review of the vehicle and my experience with the dealership. After 2 weeks of driving, I can say that I am very happy with it. Furthermore, my experience with John and sons auto sales was top notch. My wife and I was helped by Luis when we arrived. He was very cordial and answered my questions regarding the vehicle. Luis let us inspect the vehicle as long as we wanted and let us take it for a drive. I never felt rushed the whole time we were there. We drove 2 hours to purchase our sienna and would go back again.

Shady and trying to sell vehicles as is that jave more problems then they say they have. Always test drive! ALWAYS! i was trying to buy a car and found one I liked, they said it ran fine but it a broken tail light, back hatch, bad steering, and the brakes were about done. They do have decent deals on these cars, they just need to be more upfront.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. When I wanted to get the car checked out by a mechanic, he was willing to bring it over and pick it up for me. I needed to replace the front tires so he dropped the price for that. Ive had the car a little over a week now and its been running fine for me.

Their vehicle descriptions seem to be pretty thorough and honest as well. When I came to see the Escape I was looking at online, I was not disappointed. It was as described. I just bought a Mazda CX7 from them today. It runsgreat and looks awesome. The only downside was that there was mold in the trunk and the car smelled. Easy fix, washed it out with bleach water.

Bought a Grand Caravan from them back in 2015. Heater Core went out on the way home getting coolant everywhere. Had to get it towed from from Grandville to Grand Haven . Mechanic then discovered there were no AC lines, no muffler, and timing belt was barely there. Resulted in repairs almost as much as what I bought the vehicle for. Avoid this place at all costs.

I bought a car from there, they knew the transmission was broke and rebuilt at 60k and didnt tell me, the car lasted a couple thousand miles before the transmission needed to be replaced which would have cost more than the car, cant trust these guys. Also had a man with no certifications working in the garage. THUMBS DOWN!

I had no idea this dealership existed until just recently. These are truly wonderful people who have the customers best intentions in mind. They are definitely not your average sleazebag car salesman trying to make a quick buck off of you. You can tell by the way that they respond to the negative reviews. We got a great deal on an already good deal that was already marked down. I have never felt obligated to write a review about a car dealership before. But I really have to let West Michigan know about these guys. All I can say is we will look to these guys for our next vehicle and so should you. :)

Initial experience was great. Just looking for a reliable older vehicle to replace another reliable older vehicle. Unfortunately, we needed a vehicle relatively quickly and could not find time to schedule with our mechanic in a reasonable time before purchasing the vehicle. Within a week it was leaking differential fluid. No problem. Talked to our mechanic again about getting it in. Finally had it in for a thorough inspection (after purchase) and the mechanic said he wouldn’t touch it/wasn’t worth repairing because it had a cracked frame and we shouldn’t be driving our 2 year old around in it. Stunning. Called John & Sons and they pretty much reiterated their policy and gave us the name of a welder and said to try a repo sale. Wow. We would have happily negotiated something to still work with them but I guess they only stand behind their vehicles while they are on the lot. We’ve had better luck on Craig’s List. Really too bad.

This place is great, they specialize in finding good cars under 8k.Ed, the 3rd generation owner found me halfway under a Yukon that I was interested in, checking for rust. We had a brief chat about the vehicle and I took it on a test drive. It was well worth the $6000 price tag, so I went to the bank on the way back to the car lot.When we got back Ed asked how I liked it and I told him Id like to buy. Hes the least pushy salesman on the planet and answered every question to the best of his knowledge.There are 1 or 2 bad reviews on here and Id take them with a grain of salt. This place is great and Ill be back when my son has enough money saved to buy a car.

Great cars and very nice people! Ive been looking for a low-moderate mileage car in great condition thats reliable, safe (ABS, traction control and FWD at least), has minimum rust, good gas mileage, no check engine light or strange noises, a/c if possible and one thats good in the snow. Ive looked at countless cars in the $2000-$3000 price range for over a month driving as far as 30+ miles sometimes and it was long, difficult, annoying, and even expensive. I finally found a car that met ALL above requirements (even working a/c!) at John and Sons, and let me tell you, thats very hard to find! Im very happy with the car and service!

I purchased a 2007 Mazda3 from John & son last week. On the way home,about 120 miles north of there, the engine seized up. This was something that could not have been foreseen. I called to let them know what happened. They generously paid half the price of a new motor even though I turned down the optional insurance that was offered. They didnt have to do that. These are very honest and good people.

Bought a 2004 4door Chevrolet red Impala about 6 weeks ago. (Salesperson was Jose.)Barely made it home. Hadnt gotten it checked out cause I needed to save up money. Finally had it checked out. Needs a torque converter. It has snow tires on and Jose didnt mention it. Now I have to buy tires also, otherwise they could blow. Also needs tie rods; and engine is leaking oil. Also had to buy new battery cause battery was dead and Jose didnt mention that either. I would not recommend this place at all. I called and Jose said he could do nothing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

I never write reviews for anything. But I have to for Jon and sons. Me and my wife bought a suv a month ago from this lot. And a month later the engine goes out for low compression. We got a oil change and a tune up when we bought it!!! We understand we bought it as is...but a month!!! And they refuse to even help with repairs???? Dont not buy from these people, they do not do inspection on their cars!!!

Bought a rather old but very reasonable vehicle here back in July, 6 months later and we are still going strong with very minimal additional work. All the staff and sales people were great. I was in and out keys in hand and road legal in under 45mins. This is a small dealership with a limited selection but if youre looking for a reliable car on a dime and youre not into the Craigslist runaround, I would highly recommend it.

A car I bought from them had some unforseen mechanical issues shortly after the purchase. I informed Jose of my situation. He relayed the information to Ed, the owner, and they reimbursed me a fair amount to cover the repair.(despite me having declined the warranty, and signing the as-is purchase agreement.)So even with the repair issue, I still feel like it was a good buy, and was pleased with how they handled everything. Wouldnt hesitate to buy from them again in the future.

I recently bought a 05 chevy equinox from here, everything was great with customer service, the guy I spoke with was kind and upfront on preexisting issues, or so I thought. I after my purchase i took the SUV to my mechanic to have the one issue that was disclosed fixed, I found out that there was lower engine issues that require the engine to be replaced. So now Im stuck with a block of metal. Do Not Buy from these people!
