I have been a customer for years. When I dropped by to pick up a friend whose car was being repaired, I saw two customers effusively thanking the man behind the counter, as though he were the surgeon who had saved their mothers life. I saved A LOT of $$$ accepting, and paying for, what they did, as opposed to what the dealership service shop claimed I needed and was going to charge me for their work! These guys are honest, friendly and knowledgeable. There is a reason why they don’t usually have appointments until 3-5 days after you call. They may not always be cheapest but they give honest feedback, no unnecessary pressure selling.

Century auto took care of my much needed repair quickly. The service is always great and the cost is more than fair. I stopped in a few days later when my check engine light came on and they looked at the car instantly, explained what was going on, did what was necessary and I was on my way -- no cost. Very professional service center. Have been using these guys for years on my vehicles. I recently bought a Tesla Model S and had been doing my service through Tesla since it is an all electric vehicle. I hit a pot hole and needed an alignment quickly since my car was pulling to the right badly. Decided to bring my car to Century to do a 4 tire alignment and was super impressed. They gave me a pdf of the service that was preformed via email with a read out of the alignment before and after. The car drives amazing now. Customer service has always been great here and they continue to impress me. Will continue to be a customer and refer my friends.

I have been going to Century Auto for over 25 years. I would go no where else. The service is excellent. I am loyal to Century Auto because of the honesty and integrity of the personnel that work there. Marty is very awesome and treats each customer, including me, as though I was his only one. My experience was good, great service and friendly staff. I took my car in and got an estimate in less than two hours later. Parts order and delivery was quick. Next day before noon my car was ready for pickup. They even gave a chance to re-using one of the existing parts. It turned out that it was working okay which significantly cut down the bill total amount. I recommend this shop.

Had them add grease to the cv boots for my car. Purchased cv boots that came with the grease. They over charge and tried to keep the cv boots I payed for that thay did not use. Also coincidentally noticed a flat head sized tear that was not there before the service on the passenger side cv boot the day after. Also they did not apply a coupon that was offered. Said it would be applied the next time I came back. Beware.

These guys are the best! They take the time to make sure I understand what work needs to be done and give me repair options when appropriate. They alert me to when maintenance needs to be done. For instance, the front brakes are fine for right now, but they need to be looked at in three months I feel that they are attentive to how I drive and tailor a maintenance schedule to fit my needs. They make me feel like a member of their family.

Our go-to guys for our two cars (now a 2010 model and a 2001 model -- its reassuring to know that we can spend a little to repair them rather than a lot for a new car) since we moved here in the late 1980s. Never too busy to do their best for a regular customer. Marty has carried on the Mike and Marty are always there for you tradition, and i often express, to old the friend who recommended them to me but has now moved out of their service area, my appreciation for her letting me in on this Germantown Gem.).

We have been bringing our cars to Century for 5+ years now. This is one of the best businesses Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have done a great job of keeping our cars running with reasonably priced scheduled maintenance. When we have needed work done, their prices are reasonable, and they always work with you to do only what you really need done. Why put a new, factory part on a 10 year old car when there are 3rd party or rebuilt options? But whats great is I dont have to suggest that - they do it automatically. They are very clear about what they are working on and what it will cost.Weve recommended Century to several friends, and everyone has been very pleased.

Century has maintained/repaired a pretty eclectic series of wheels for us over the years: Volvo 240, Ford Bronco, Jeep Cherokee, Honda Civic, Subie Outback and now Nissan Frontier. Ive used Century a few times, but this morning really showed me what great customer service they have. I needed a quick Maryland Safety Equipment Repair inspection and sign off and I stopped by to have them do it for me. I could tell they were very busy this morning and Marty even said that he really didnt have the time right then to do it. If it werent for the fact that I was down to my last day to get this done, I would have said, No problem, Ill come back another day. But even without me saying it was my last day, Marty said he would make the time and immediately did my inspection and I was on my way. I know how I feel when I get interrupted at work, so the fact he made the time for me was awesome. Great, great service and I appreciate it so much!!!!

I have known the personnel at Century Auto for over 40 years. The quality of their work speaks for itself work on various vehicles owned by me, my extended family and those to whom I have recommended their work. Recently I survived a very serious auto accident and fortunately had my vehicle towed directly to Century. The insurance company (for the party causing the accident) initially provided me with a rental vehicle and authorized all necessary work. Unfortunately -- for me -- the insurance company stopped its direct payment of the rental vehicle and then refused payment for some of the repairs to Century and the body shop to which my vehicle was transferred. I had to file papers against the insurance company to recover the monies I had to pay out which were withheld by the insurance company. It is only because of the explicit documentation and timely pre-authorization and quality of the work done by Century Auto that I finally got won my claim against the insurance company. Unequivocally, in my book, Century is second to none. They take care of their customers like family by their actions and stand behind everything they do . . . at a fair price.

Century has been our local go-to shop for nearly 10 years. First with my wifes 2005 Mazda 6 and then with several of my cars for work I dont want to bother with or cant do myself like alignment on the 2002 BMW 330i. Great communication by phone, email, or in person. Never an issue with any repairs/service they do.

My family have been customers of Century Auto for about twenty years and there is no other mechanics we would consider going to. The gentlemen are professional, trustworthy, and very friendly. We have never felt that they performed unnecessary work or over charged us. Even friends that I have recommended have come back and thanked me because of the service they received.

Great business practices. I can call and even get questions answered over the phone about any problem that I may have. Prices are well below any dealer. I have sent many to Century and they all tell me how great the staff is and the price is right.

After being told that another local Germantown mechanic shop would charge me $150 just to look at my blown light, I began looking else where to get my light fixed. I knew it was more than just the light bulb as I had changed that myself and that there was a short or something else going on.I called on a Friday afternoon and was told to bring my car in Monday morning. The gave a rough estimate based on the information I gave them which was MUCH cheaper than the diagnostic cost the other auto shop was trying to charge me.On Monday, I came in, they took my car and told me it would be ready by the afternoon. The total cost was $15 dollars more than the quote but that was ok as the initial quote was an estimate. Overall the cost of REPAIR was cheaper than the diagnostic the other auto shop and for that I am grateful!!!I had been driving around with this issue for month not wanting to pay $150 just for someone to look at my light. In less than a work day, it was fixed and now I have 2 working lights!The service was great, the attitude of the mechanics wonderful!!!I will definitely be back!Thank you Chuck and the team!!!

They do great work! My car has over 200k miles and I have always taken it to the dealer for regular service and repairs. At this age every issue is becoming a major one.I went to Century Auto Service and have been very happy with their work and I was most impressed with their commitment to customer service.In one instance they did not meet their standard regarding some work done on my car. I didnt have to twist their arm about it, in fact the owner proactively reached out to me, took accountability for it, offered to get me a rental car, and fixed the issue once and for all.There is always anxiety when it comes to car repair; not only quality of work but with customer care, integrity, and accountability. Century Auto Service excels in all those areas, so long as I have a car that needs work, they will always have my business. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

While doing the MD State Inspection for an 04 Accord we bought in VA, Marty and his shop found severe misalignment of the rear end suspension parts, as well as a bunch of brand new front suspension parts recently installed.While CarFax didnt find any record of a vehicle accident insurance claim, apparently the prior owner did enough out-of-pocket repairs to pass it off as a trade-in.Century Auto did heroic measures to try to salvage seized up rear adjustment parts and minimize the overall repair costs. I even asked about replacing a $200 part on the left side just to make it the same as the matching right-side part that was damaged. Chuck said we should wait and let the alignment results be the verdict. In the end, I saved the $200 expense of a needless repairs.Now all the previous road vibrations (even when the car was on smooth roads) have gone away. Car rides and tracks almost like a new vehicle. Chuck even invited us to bring the car back in a month or so to recheck the alignment to make sure everything is staying put.I was so worried I had bought a lemon, now were really happy. Took my car in for the 100K maintenance and as usual Century Auto performed the required maintenance as promised and on time. I had to wait about a week to get the appointment because they are busy but that was expected because they are honest and fair. I have been using Century Auto for almost 20 years now for 3 different cars and will continue to use them in the future.

I had high hopes for this place because of the high ratings. My car ended up stalling in the middle of traffic a few days after I got my car back from them. The new mechanic I had it taken to stated problems that Century said nothing about - specifically an extremely rotted/rusted cross-member (a pretty important part of the vehicle...) and he was pretty blown away that someone (Century) had just looked at my vehicle and missed this. Although this didnt have specific relation to the reason my vehicle died on the interstate, they should have seen this and said something to me. Its extremely dangerous and unsafe to drive around with a cross-member in the condition mine was in. If they honestly didnt notice how bad it was, I would question their skills. If they saw it and just neglected to tell me, well thats another issue. Either way I did not have a great experience at all and felt it needed to be said because the only ratings of them currently are all 5 stars. I had a significantly less than 5 star experience. They do, however, get 5 stars for customer service and friendliness - I just wish that was also the case for the service and care taken for my vehicle.

This shop is the best auto service store in the Germantown. I have been here couple of times and everytime I come here I get a fair service and a genuine advice. Even if there is something they cant do, they will tell you an alternate place where you get absolutely what you want. I have tried other bigger names and places in Germantown but I have always been disappointed with them.
