Very clean store. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful. The selection of certain item types is not overly practical. This location tends to carry more stock if the “fancy” and more expensive brands. Other Academy locations in our area have more selection of the “practical” brands. When you walk in it’s a feeling of a pretty store, but mostly aesthetics and less product. Regardless, we’re happy to have an Academy in our area!

Went here to buy some new running shoes and needed help finding what I was looking for. I couldn’t find ANYONE to help me and after 10 or so minutes had passed I finally found a worker named Meghan playing on her phone kinda hidden behind one of the isles. When I asked her for help she gave me so much attitude like I was interrupting something important? When I was asking for help and she was on her phone on the clock? The whole time she was helping me she was extremely rude and disrespectful. Please fire her I will never come to this location again, I have never EVER been treated so poorly by retail staff. If you don’t like your job you should leave it instead of being rude to your customers.

You lost an $800 sale. I went in to buy an exercise bike. The two poor employees there ( young) tried to assist me with the bike purchase, only to show me that the bike had a lock on it, to prevent use. I explained that I just wanted to see how it worked and really the quality of the screen image and programs included. When they radioed for help, they were told the lock should not be removed for any reason. How is one supposed to buy without a tutorial or view of the bike ON! Ridiculous! You have to peddle to start up the bike and screen!Management was no where to be found either.

This is the 3rd time I have walked into Academy since it opened and let me tell you each time I have been met by the rudest employees ever! I mean Academy hires nothing but the worst, literally! I understand that good help is hard to find but they should really talk to the employees. I will not be going back unless I absolutely have to go back with my husband!

I go to the Georgetown Academy quite often and always enjoy the experience. The store is well organized and kept very clean. They do a great job at keeping their inventory well stocked in spite of all the shortages these days. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Large, spacious place with a large variety of sporting goods.Limited firearms and ammo.

Usually music in a store is suppose to make you feel at ease and entice you to shop more. The Georgetown, Texas store has seem to forgotten that concept with them blasting hard rock music in your ear. I left after just a few minutes of entering the store.

Its a nice store full of sports equipment and clothing, all the way from baseball, basketball, soccer, hunting, etc. The store was clean, and although the employees could use better customer service, it was a pleasant shopping experience. The line to get to the register its kind of insane due to all the turns you have to go through,but at least they had enough cashiers at the front. Hopefully theyll have more variety next time so that we can visit more often.

Havent been inside an Academy in years and can say its definitely different...its improved. You need sport shoes? They got em. Need camping gear? Guns? Arrows? Yep! They got em.

Usually meet people in the parking lot for private gun sales and such. Good location for that kind of thing. Assuming everythings on the up and up with each party.

I recently purchased an Outdoor Gourmet Deluxe Pan and Basket set from Academy only to find out the box contained a pan, a basket handle, and some cool bubble wrap. No basket!I normally check the contents of a bag of food ordered from a drive-through window, and often count money in the envelope when making a withdrawal from the bank. Guess I should have opened this one prior to check out. My bad!

I really hate that I even have to do this but hopefully it will get the manager at this store to make some changes. On 8/17 I purchased 2 pairs of kid shoes, 2 packs of socks, and 2 packs of batteries. When leaving the front door alarm went off so I turned around and went to the young tall guy working the front post . He checked everything and did not find any tags that could of set the door alarm off. He then asks me if I accidentally forgot something in my purse? He basically called me a thief and searched my purse in front of everyone. This was a very embarrassing and upsetting event that should of never happened. Please train your employees better to not call paying customers thieves. You have permanently lost my business because of this

It whats my first time being in there and I loved it I could spend all day in there it had a lot of variety of everything I found everything I wanted very nice people that work there, its great place!

From the moment you get to the doors someone wants to help you find what you’re looking for.Ammunition is kind of hit and miss. So, online might be the best thing to do there. Nice people all the way around.

I did a online order for pick up and when I picked up my order it was the display product. When I opened the box NOT ALL the parts were there. I called and was told “sorry we don’t have the parts and can not find the ones that were in the box. They offered a refund but had nothing to replace it with and no idea when they would have any. My advise is check your packages before you leave the store. VERY POOR SERVICE!! I “use to shop” at this location at least 3 times a month spending no less than $200 every time. Needless to say THAT WAS MY LAST TRIP THERE! Sad but I will go to Bass Pro!

First time visiting this store as a new Georgetown resident. I was pretty impressed with their selection of outdoor cooking accessories (primarily what I was looking at). Its a nice large store with a great selection of items in every section. I scored a folding digital instant read food thermometer from AcuRite that is highly rated and a 40lb. bag of B&B hardwood bbq pellets, both at a very good price.

Big store, clean and organized. Well stocked. I found a bicycle that it wasn’t in display at Cedar Park store.

It had what I was looking for a sleeve arm youth protection. Helps to compress my arm. Not to pricey if you buy the youth sleeve. They have other adult ones run from $20 - $30.00. For basket shooters, or football protection. Not to busy for a tuesday afternoon.

Most staff were friendly, however yesterday evening when I had stopped by to pick up a few things I noticed a product I had picked up was slightly damaged. As I was walking to the checkout line I had stopped and asked a shorter, partially bald, older man. I can’t quite remember his name but he was a manager of some sort. Whatever he may have been, awful customer service, when I had mentioned my concern, it was merely disregarded. I was told all about this wonderful selection and how amazing the store is, but I was left dry with my initial concerns. It doesn’t matter if you have an amazing store if you can’t service your guests properly.

Quick in & out with easy directions to where I needed to find camping gear. Friendly staff that helped check you out in a timely manner.

Academy Sports is a great store. There pricing is fair. Somethings are a little over priced but in all they have a great variety with okay pricing.

Employees were very helpful and knowledgeable of the store. Store was not crowded at all and the check out lines moved very fast.

I bought a grill and it was a super tight first in my car! Josh and Michael were incredible, got their personal tools to take of a part and put the grill in the trunk. What a great example of true customer service!

Not sure if management was lazy or just didnt want to deal with a customer with my situation. But, I went there to exchange some rubber boots that Ive bought at a academy not more than a week for some new ones. Long story short, they wouldnt exchange them because I bought them at a academy with a different location. Other than that, store looked nice and fully stock of items. Shame I didnt spend more time there.

I checked in fort curbside pickup and waited 20 minutes. I called in to see if they got my information, and I was quickly told, without verifying my details, Id be helped. 15 minutes later, I went in and asked for my stuff. I like this location overall, but communication and leadership seem to be lacking. Dont do curbside.

Dont expect Academy to honor their Price Guarantee. No where in the policy language does it say the competitive price cant be on-sale. It only says it cannot be a closeout or clearance price. I showed an associate the Amazon price which was cheaper because it was on sale, and was told they dont honor sale prices. I later complained via online support and they said the same. So the only way they will match a competitive price is if Academy is selling something for MORE than MSRP. What a joke and deceptive. So much for trying to shop local.

Was greeted as soon as I walked through the door which I like. Asked where to find golf shoes and the employee knew where they were at 👍🏼. Found a pair of Adidas I liked and went and played 18 with them.

Great place to find all sorts of things. For an academy it is very big and clean. I rarely dont find want I need, and I always find what I want. Staff are helpful sometimes but they are always all together on one side of the store so I never find an help if I need it.

An old white man working the door shouted ‘merry Christmas’ at me twice coming in and I let him know I don’t celebrate his holiday.He shouted again at my back as I left, despite our previous interaction less than 5 mins earlier. I could care less who says ‘boo’ to me, but an aggressive holiday greeter is not for me.The checkout line was well managed and clerk who rang me up was friendly.I’ll shop elsewhere.

Was next in line, then told to take a number. So the guy last in line made it to the number thing first and bypassed us all. And the employees saw him do it. I got over that. But I needed an attachment for an item I purchased there and they aren’t very familiar with the products they sell. Now it’s hunting season, and you’d think they’d be educated on the products they’re selling and what goes with them. Won’t be shopping here for any hunting materials again. I’ve never had a terrible experience here, but the attitude of the employee was an “ I don’t care, we have other customers “ type attitude. What I needed was an easy fix. He had one right behind him he could’ve looked at to see the piece I needed. But he said I need to leave and come back with it before he can help me.

Real quick trip. I had never been to this location but with how the store is organized I knew straight where to go. The cashier was very friendly and fast even with my fishing license. It was a breeze!

Just finished up some Christmas shopping at Academy in Georgetown....what an exceptional store!! Very clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful! And the parking was easy. ❤

Normally this is my go to store for outdoor equipment. I will no longer shop at the Georgetown store. Regular staff is great, but the short bald manager is horrible. He needs training on customer service and learning the policy of the store. He makes changes as he sees fit even when it is clearly written to be followed. The only reason I put 3 stars is because the store in Round Rock picked up his slack and did a great job. That store deserves great marks.

This is what is called a top 10 percent store. Which means they only carry what the top ten percent buys. For example in the shoe section very little choice in style or size. Hardly any wide shoes. Very little on sale even for back to school. I saw several groups of employees including the store manager standing around in groups talking. The men in the shoe department could not answer basic questions about their product. They did try to look things up, but no useful information. When I said my price range was $40-60 they showed me $100 shoes and neglected to point out the back wall were there were a very few pairs in my price range. On a more positive side there was a woman working in shoes who was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The manager was friendly. The store was clean and practicing covid restrictions. Will not be shopping there again. Recommend the 1431 near 183A store for verity and price.

I really like this store. Always asked by employees if I need help. Just wish the check out could go a little quicker. They did have 4 registers open and 8 people in line.

They dont carry wool socks for women or kids. They dont carry all sizes of girls jackets, and fall is here! I observed more than 5 staff members not wearing masks properly. When I mentioned the poor masking practices to the greeter on my way out, he lowered his mask so he could hear me better! And he didnt apologize, he just said OK. Maybe thats not his job. I left the store in a hurry after grabbing the 3 things I needed that were in stock, and I didnt bother sticking around to shop for a few other things that I wanted to have.

I bought a football to relive my olden days. Back in 82, I used to be able to toss a pigskin a quarter of a mile. Man I wish I could go back in time... Id take state.
