Love the Harry Potter house goodies. The plush hay and carrot was so cute. Wish I got the same treatment as my friend who got to rub the heart on her plush and name hers. Seems like some employees care more than others

Love this store. It takes care of the child in me. My husband recently bought me Grogu for Christmas 2020. I love cute stuffed bears and things like it. I am so happy with my latest gift. Thanks Honey. The young lady stuffed it to my specifications and added a heart to him. I am happy.

My kids love this place. We have been 4 times since moving to New York. It adds up pretty fast but its worth the smile on my kids faces. The staff is super nice and helpful. Very friendly atmosphere.

I recently purchased the Animal Crossing collection and had a couple issues that needed fixing. Called up and was told both issues could be fixed at the store! My mother and I went to get them repaired, but since it was my first time ever going to a physical store I wanted to look around. The associate that assisted us was so kind, helpful, and did a fantastic job fixing the two bears. I ended up purchasing a Harry Potter bear with the Gryffindor clothing and beating heart. Im pleased with the whole experience, I love my new bears, and I appreciate seeing associates truly enjoying the job that they have. Thank you so much!

The experience was great up until we realized that we were completely mislead. We went in to purchase a bear for our nephews 1st bday, and were told by an associate that the bear would cost his age, or $1. Thrilled by this, we went ahead and got another bear made for our daughter. When we got the register , we were told that my nephew had to be present for the offer to be valid. It’s not so much that we had to pay the retail value of the bear, $14, it was how the staff handled the situation. No Manager to be found to rectify the situation, and absolutely no regard for ensuring a good customer service experience. Our first, and unfortunately last Build a bear experience.

This was our first time there my daughter loved it. There are a lot of different types of stuffed animals to choose from and so many outfits. Very clean and the staff was amazing and friendly. Would recommend to take your child there.

Do not recommend! I brought my daughter to build a bear for her first experience and I am very upset and disappointed that We did not receive the full service, such as getting a box home for the bear or get to name her bear (not even a certificate!) The store was unprofessional and rude and I can’t believe they didn’t offer this to me. I didn’t even know my daughter experience was completely ruined when other asked her wheres the home and the cerotificate! I didn’t know this was part of the experience until I got home and friends are asking what the bear name was and the certificate. This is beyond ridiculous!

This visit wasnt the best but its still a great place to go once with the kids. Little under staffed probably due to covid so this visit there was no bear. They do have big selection of stuffed bears that you can create. You choose your bear then you take it over and they will take you thru the different things you can get for the bear. Wide selection of cloths and accessories to go with bears. Also comes with a birth certificate for the bear after your done.

Customer service is terrible, I was here with my friends making a bear and it was 30 minutes till close, they told us to hurry up because we had to exit in 15 minutes. It was over 30 minutes till close, It really ruined the experience for us as we were having a good time making our bear, but we were rushed and it was an annoyance that should not have happened. If there is a different build a bear nearby I suggest you go to that one and hope they have better customer service.

Went in there to make two bearsUnfortunately we had an awful experience with an employee named Ash.He made the experience extremely uncomfortable as he yelled at my sister for touching the unstuffed bears, you know the ones that you’re supposed to pick up and bring to the stuffing station. Just ridiculous.

Love the store and the whole atmosphere of making a stuffed animal but wow, customer service is TERRIBLE. I was over charged and getting a refund was pure torture. I had to go back and forth via email and phone call with multiple service representatives who were without fail mean to me, spoke down to me, were short with me, didn’t listen to me, and were impatient. Pretty dissappointed in the consistency of low quality service representatives I encountered.

Spent a lot of money in this store was hoping to get more respect from the store manager she is very rude she said they were sold out and walked away but another person was able to go in the back and found the shoes its sad to be treated like this when you are spending money . Hope they switch management to more of a peoples person .

Disappointing.Be careful with information on salesThe employee Layla (if that’s how it’s spelled) needs to be aware of what items is on sale and isn’t on sale for the 2 for 35 . A simple honest mistake can happen. I only went for one bear and Layla was assisting us picking out the bear then mentioned the sale for the bears and was showing what other ones was on sale ... my son wanted a soft plush . I trusted the employee and went with the bears we picked out and didn’t mention the other option wasn’t part of the sale. My son was very excited with both bears . At the point of paying I had explained it The manager Keli of what happened and didn’t honor the sale price for both bears, when it was her own staff fault for misinforming. It’s disgusting how Build A Bear can’t honor a discount when it’s on them for messing up. If i could i would give it no stars. Empathy where ?I was canceling the transaction but it isn’t my sons fault he can’t have the bears he picked out where i took the time to make personalized recordings for so it help him with his tantrums.

Such a nice experience getting birthday bears for my godkids! The prices were much better than I remembered and the process was very hands on. it made me feel like a kid again! You pick the bear, outfit, message, and even get to stuff it and fill out a birth certificate. Definitely bringing them when theyre older to do it themselves.

Its amazing All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Had my daughters 7th birthday they had so much fun seeing there bears come to life. The host was so patience with all the kids. Would do it again.

Me and my best friend wanted to make bears for each other before we went to college so we decided to go to the build a bear in the mall. The door was half way open and there were about 8 costumers so we went to go in, as i went to the push the door a worker shook her head and waved me away. Confused, we stepped back and waited for her to come to the door. Instead of asking us to wait or telling us anything she closes the door in our faces and says nothing. So we decide to wait. A family of 4 walk out and hold the door for us to go in, she then tells the family to not let us in with no explanation. Me and my friend are now confused because this lady is not letting us in. More people start leaving and she still wont let us in. We then watch her talking to another worker, she takes off her masks and it looks like as is she is yelling or lecturing her about something. We couldn’t hear but it looked as if she was yelling at the other worker. She then comes to the door with her headphones in and says “we are closed for cleaning so you cannot come in. And i told u guys this and its going to take 40 min” . I tell her that she did not tell us that and had us waiting for no reason. She then says “i did tell you, so you should leave”. She was rude to us the whole time and had no type of courtesy to her customers or fellow workers. Ive never heard of a store in a mall closing for cleaning in the middle of the day. I understand the circumstances with covid19 but the way it was brought to us was unacceptable. I dont know who this lady is but i will never go in there ever.

It was me and my son’s first visit to Build A Bear today. I came in with my neices because they wanted to but new outfits for their stuffed animals, and my son decided he wanted to make his first bear. The young lady who assisted us was very helpful being that it was our first time. She was very warm and sweet to my son and assisted him every step of the way to create the perfect Black Panther Bear that he chose. We had an excellent first experience at Build A Bear.

This is a happy place! Kids absolutely love it here. I dont think Ive ever seen an unhappy face at build a bear (aside from a few impatient parentals🧘🧘🧘). A bit pricey but well worth the experience. Keep up the great job guys! The team was very upbeat and happy to help the eager little ones waiting to stuff there animals with love and cotton! Such an awesome idea! The wait was a little long but there was a birthday party going on at same time so we understood. It was so nice watching the kids happy and frolicking around, we didnt mind waiting. The birthday kids were thrilled to pieces! Highly recommend for an afternoon of fun and laughs with your little ones!

What a horrible experience. Was in the garden city NY store earlier today with the family. Managers were rude, disrespectful, and are dishonest (explanation forthcoming) we are a family that has members with special needs. The managers made us feel singled out, uncomfortable and most of all unwelcome. Immediately got on the website to call customer service. On the phone for over 45 mins, tried to offer me gift certificates (that we never wanted) promised a call back from someone “higher up” (we will see) tomorrow. Was told the details stated by the store manager (which blew my mind). Completely fabricated the actions my child was doing in the store. I advised to review cameras if there are any because those were 100% not true. Really at a loss and don’t know what to do. Almost 1am, still thinking about how a place my kid loves to go to and we use as a reward for being good could ever make us feel this way. If there’s any advice from fellow parents in the community, we’d appreciate it. Thinking training for employees might be a pipe dream. (Especially knowing that they will lie about the actions of a child to avoid getting in trouble.) Visited this store, with multiple past purchases and never have had any issues in the past. Used to think the employees were so friendly. Not sure why this has happened all of a sudden.

My kids Always Love it here. My only issue was that during a party 2 weeks ago, there was only 1 line for the stuffing machine, and the party attendees were given priority. Which held up the customers there w/individual purchases. Eventually some1 complained and another employee went 2 tend to them on the other machine (which shouldve been opened initially knowing a busy party were scheduled). Otherwise, a good visit!

I recently took my 8 year old niece for her birthday and the fun started the moment we walked in the door! Granted she was wearing a birthday crown full of bling, a birthday girl pin on her shirt, and I myself had a big goofy birthday hat on so we were kinda hard to miss! She was greeted with a big happy birthday and the first associate we met stopped what she was doing to make her a sticker with her name. Then Chris helped us through the whole process, showing my niece all her options. She even left to go find a bear my niece thought she may have wanted but had none left by the display, yet Chris looked around and found one for her! In the end, she went with a different one but I still thought that was so thoughtful while she could have just said sorry were out! Chris was so patient with my niece as she smelled all the possible smells and helped her with the foot pedal to stuff her tiger pillow! And the routine she went though with the heart, having her rub it on her face, her heart, her belly, making a wish and kissing it before stuffing it in was just so endearing! Chris may have to do this a hundred times a day but she acted with enthusiasm to make this event so special for my niece! She proceeded to give it a bath, type up a birth certificate, and she walked out with such pride over what she had just created, hugging it throughout the mall and the whole way home!

My wife took my son to build a bear today and had the worst experience in front of my son one of the associates there told my son that he could pick any beer in the store because it was his birthday so he went to the he pick the bear went through the process of doing the ceremony For the bear I was actually on the phone talking to my wife and my son so when it was time to check out a different associate said that that they told us the wrong information after the process was done and everything they called the manager and the manager wouldn’t let my wife explain that one of the associates told her that the bear was in for free that she had to pay the regular price so the associate called the manager over and she wouldn’t let my wife explain what happened and told her no and force my son to pick another bear after he had his heart set on the one that he picked the manager gave my wife a very bad attitude and my wife told her you don’t care is my son’s birthday she nodded her head and my wife just asked for corporate number and phone numberThis manager should not be working around kids Or with the public

Birthday Party Review. Pros: every kid gets a bear. Cons: Hoo boy. Have you ever chased a kid around a toy store, trying to keep them out of trouble? Imagine doing that for 2+ hours. A bday party here is essentially waiting in line while a dozen other kids have their bears built at the same time. There are no chairs to sit in. There is no party room. There is no outside food allowed (including cake). Its just you, a dozen bored / impatient kids, and 1 harried party hostess trying to cram stuffing into bears while the regular customers complain about how long they have to wait now, too. It was, in a word, unbearable. [sad rimshot]

It was really fun but when the days are close to holidays it gets hard to find a parking space. Me and my friends went there and it was so fun to chose your own outfits and accessories, while I was there the staff treated me and my friends kindly and answered our questions fully. I also advise you to get ready to spend a lot of money on this shop, the clothing is a tad bit pricey in my opinion.

This place is a money grabber . They put the price for the bear in the top and put a different bear in the bottom.andWhen you go to pay for the bear they have a different price. They don’t like to honor the price . When you ask for the manager is a waste of time. They want to put there own policy. The managers are very arrogant. They don’t even want to honor the coupon.

My daughter had a blast here, might seem a bit pricey to some,but its the experience and the look on your kids face as theyre helping the lady build the stuffed animal that they designed.The employee named Gabrielle was very helpful,thnx.

When it gets busy, expect to wait a long time to get your doll fluffed up. However, the staff works as fast as possible and there are always one or two on the floor to answer questions and provide assistance. The kids have a blast here, and taking home a specially picked and built doll is a plus for the kids.If youre getting bored in the wait line, maybe send someone just outside of the store to get some pretzels and Auntie Annes. But thats just me.

Rude sales lady, one of the sales lady told us it’s 2 for $40 but when we are going to pay for the bears the heavy set sales lady said it was not part of the sale and wag a finger at us. There’s only 4 of them working that day and they don’t communicate. The lady that greets customer will tell you it’s on sale but the other one will said no it’s not on sale. By the way it’s the Star Wars bears that we ended up buying both just because I don’t want my daughter to get disappointed.

I went to this location today for there pay your age day. Although we frequent this particular location often, my niece and I were extremely exicited for today. The lines were long but we arrived at 9 and expected our wait wouldnt be long. When we next on line a woman walking pass with her son asked the b.a.b worker if she could basically skip the line. The worker handled the situation very professionally and kindly told her no. The customer then proceeded to say I have money. I dont need to stand on a line with ppl who NEED a discount. Imagine.. being on line with a bunch of children and a person says something as mean as that. Some parents had all of their children there and perhaps this was the only time the were able to do something nice for them. The b.a.b worker( who was visibly upset by the comment) kindly told her that she would either have to get on line or wait till tomorrow to shop. Needless to say she didnt get on the line. I just want to thank her (I believe her name was Chrissy.. she is maybe 54, late 30s early 40s and a delight) for sticking up for the kids and parents who arent able to shop at b.a.b all the time but today they were able to. Not all super heroes wear capes. Some wear blue vest.

I ordered a talking thir build a bear because all the stores near me stopped selling them. I recieved it in a timely manner and recieved all the accessories he was supposed to come with. Overall they did a good job but i give this 2 stars at best because the bear is already falling apart straight from the box. The arms and legs arent fully sewen on with visible openings where the limbs should be securely attached. I have purchased things in the past from them at the store with no problems. I would recomend any purchases be done in store so that you can inspect before purchasing.
