My A/C stopped working on Friday night during the hottest heat wave of the century! I called Energy Smart on Saturday after trying some DIY methods…. I could have had a technician out on Sunday for an emergency call (at a reasonable price), but decided to save a few $$ and waited until Monday. My technician, Tim came out by 11 (quoted time from 10-1). Within 20 minutes he diagnosed the problem and in less than 90 minutes my A/C was back in action. I had called other places in town and could not get scheduled for 9-11 days! Energy Smart took care of me in my time of need. Tim was courteous and professional, as well as friendly and knowledgeable. He let me know what was going on each step of the way. Best of all, he had the necessary part on his truck at a great price. I will sleep good tonight in my cool house. Thanks Tim and thanks Energy Smart!

I used energy smart for 2 projects; a solar system and AC duct system replacement. They were very helpful. They walked me through different financing options and their prices were competitive to other guys in the market. Solar system was delivered once I got approved for a loan and installed in the second day. They took care of all the paperwork and other county formalities. Solar experience was 5 stars. However it was kind of rough with AC duct system. After installing I wasnt happy with the outcome. When I expressed my concerns the manager himself came and discussed what I need to change. They took care of the changes as I requested. For the manager to promptly address my concerns and do what it takes to satisfy me as a customer indicates good customer service. Highly recommend using them.

My experience with Energy Smart was amazing! In the middle of summer my air conditioning system stopped working. I was not sure what company to select but when Energy Smart responded to my inquiry so quickly and had such an awesome customer rating I knew that I was in good hands.They were out my house the next day and my technician Jacob was so efficient and thorough. He explained everything so that my family and I understood, I appreciated that. Jacob made all of the necessary repairs and ensured that the unit was functioning properly. Energy Smart is a great company and lucky to have Jacob. Thank you for everything.

Last year...Guy showed up with no ladder and not enough tools. Had to leave to go get what he needed, twice. We waited hours for him to return. Couldnt fix it. Replaced HVAC and they caused a leak which damaged ceiling. Cant get it fixed because its through the home warranty (which we DID NOT renew) and they gave us the runaround. The PVC pipe running from unit to vent pipe was placed so it sloped back towards unit. I do not recommend this company. This year we hired another AC business to replace our other unit. The difference between these two experiences is night and day. I DO NOT recommend using Energy Smart.

This company was hired by my parents home owners insurance to put a new AC unit on their home. The guys were over a hour late and didnt call my parents to let them know they were running late. I feel that is bad customer service but then they were finally on their way they messaged my mom they were on their way. The guy wasnt rude but he wasnt overly friendly - then again its so crazy hot that I guess I wouldnt be super happy either.

Needed multiple visits to get the job done and many calls due to poor workmanship and inexperienced techs. The unit kept failing after they fixed it. Also office staff avoid calls and are borderline rude. Would never use them again.

Tim serviced my A/C repair today. Outstanding service and fixed it right up. Got a quote for +$800 from another company and he was able to charge me $80 for a pound of refrigerant. All the other stuff was covered with my home warrenty.Highly recommend!Thank you Tim and Energy Smart!

Trust me they only got one star cause you can’t leave any less otherwise I would have. Energy Smart came out to our house to service my A/C after it stop blowing cold air. Gal who serviced the unit was nice and knowledgeable. Told me they would be notifying my warranty company American Home Shield that same day of repairs. It has been 8 days since they came out and the warranty company is still waiting for their report. Every time I call Energy Smart the girl on the phone keeps telling the advisor is working on it and they have 48hrs to turn in report. Um..... it’s been 8 days! She keeps telling she is so sorry and that she understands... um no you don’t! It’s been 105+ degrees everyday since then and unbearable to sleep at night. Company is a flake to do not call them for service.

Do NOT use this company. They are rude and unprofessional. We have been working with them for over a month to do an air conditioning replacement. FINALLY they scheduled us for installation. They scheduled us for last week, then rescheduled us for Tuesday of this week. On Tuesday AFTER their scheduled time to be here, they informed us the wrong unit had been delivered (why did they not check that before that morning, especially after rescheduling us?). They rescheduled us for today (Thursday). They called us yesterday and told us that they would have to reschedule us again because they overbooked and the other clients on the schedule had been waiting a week. They wanted to schedule us, once again, for Tuesday of NEXT week. We have been working on this for over a month! Anyway, tired of waiting for air conditioning in this HOT VALLEY WEATHER, I called and asked to speak with a manager. AJ answered but said that her manager, Amy, had left for the day but that she was capable of helping me. I told her that I was very upset and that I did not understand why they had not given us priority considering the circumstances. She said that her manager would have to help me even though she PLAINLY had just told me she was capable of helping me. I told her that I was growing more upset and that, while I understand that she is not personally responsible for the issue, I really want to speak to a manager. She proceeded to interrupt me then explain why they had to reschedule (repeating all of the above, and admitting it) then she added their explanation for not knowing it was the wrong unit until the day of installation. She stated further that the reason for rescheduling us once again is that the new unit had not arrived-directly contradicting the reason given to my husband by Amy. Because of her propensity for speaking over me, I asked her if she was finished so that I could tell her why I am questioning all of this. She told me I could speak so, after listening intently to her explanation, I KINDLY told her that I realize she is not personally responsible but we are trying to just get this done and what would it take. She said she could not help the situation and that I would have to wait. I told her that I get that she could not help but could she please relay our dismay to her manager and tell them that while we get that they are busy, it seems to be a particularly boneheaded move for the company and that I know it is not hers to fix but that I did not understand why they would not check to see if the unit was correct BEFORE scheduling us. She flew OFF that handle, told me that she is not a bonehead and hung up on me. End of discussion. Obviously their staff is not trained properly in customer service nor in active listening. A company that operates this way AND has such horrible customer service should not be in business. There is no way I would trust them with my home. We are taking our $8,000 service elsewhere.

Very disappointed in the service I received from Energy Smart. They said they fixed my AC and it wouldnt turn on because I have an electrical problem. I had 2 electricians come out and they both said no problems with my electric. Finally had another AC company come out and they advised me that all the parts they replaced were installed incorrectly and some not even hooked up. So now its been 2 months without AC and we are in the middle of heat wave now. So disappointed in customer service with pretty much everything they have put me through. I just hope the new company I have coming out is not dishonest like Energy Smart.

My home warranty company sent these people out to my house. I called them to try and schedule, which took 2 days, 4 phone calls and finally driving to their business to schedule in person. They do not answer or call back. After the diagnosis, (we’re at a week without a/c), they still will not return my call about replacing the unit. I think they were under the impression that I was going to do what the warranty company recommended, when all I wanted was the warranty to pay the cash out option so I could replace the whole a/c unit. But... since they wont return calls, we went with another local reputable a/c company. I wouldnt let someone work on a main component of my house if they cannot figure out how to operate a telephone.

My AC blower quit working and I called American Home Shield to schedule a HVAC contractor to come out to my house. The HVAC contractor, Energy Smart, sent a technician (Randy) over to diagnose and repair the problem. He quickly diagnosed that the circuit board containing the relays (for the fan motor) needed to be replaced and a new one had to be ordered. Once they had the new part, I scheduled an appointment for the installation. The technician (Frank) came over (on time) and quickly installed the new circuit board. My AC now works again blowing cold air on these hot days! Thanks to both Randy and Frank whom I thought were knowledgeable, friendly and courteous.

Frank from Energy Smart was beyond helpful. He was extremely knowlegable about our HVAC unit, but was able to explain the issues/parts in a way we could understand. He carefully diagnosed the problem and was able to come back the next day to fix our unit. He was respectful and friendly. Great experience. Highly recommend them. Thank you Frank!!!!

0 stars as I called them on August 3 and today is the 14th and my AC is still not fixed. How can you say your a great company when you cant do your job right. My warranty is still waiting for the report so they can send out another company that actually knows what they are doing.

The professionals at Energy Smart have been amazing to work with. They were able to diagnose the problem w/my HVAC unit quickly (in the middle of the great heat wave of 2017). They worked with my home warranty company, and took the hassle out of it for me. Within 5 days, I had a brand new top of the line HVAC unit on my roof. Works like a dream! They have also been very easy and pleasant to work with on the business side. GREAT company! I will ALWAYS call them first!

I would NOT recommend this company for AC replacement. I have been patient and have called several times a day for 5 days trying to get them do complete there notes so my Home Warranty company can move forward. Apparently I’m asking for to much! I am told repeatedly that the notes will be done and everyday they are not! I have a Great Dane who is suffering terribly being in a hotel because we had to vacate the home with high temp in the 104-107 range. We almost lost her! Pleading with Energy Smart begging them to complete there work and let’s get an order in for a new AC has not helped. If you don’t want this to be your Situation then I would not work with Energy Smart Engineering Inc! Trust me, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemies.

I wish I could give ZERO stars, but it isnt allowed. Frank from Energy Smart came to my home after I filed a claim with AHS when my furnace quit working. Frank spent about 20 minutes in the attic before telling me that the entire unit needed replaced. He showed me blurry pictures on his phone of rust and cracks on/in the unit. He said the office would call me the next morning. Ten days later.... I get a call from AHS saying that our out of pocket expense for this repair would be $1900. I asked for a list and prices of what exactly I would be paying for. One of the items was the cost to pull the permit for $400. Since I know nothing about HVAC, I decided to start with the basics and googled the cost to pull said permit. I contacted a department in the city of Sacramento and was quoted a price of $220 to pull the needed permit. Now , I work too hard for my money to just write someone a check for $1900 - especially since the first item I looked into - the permit - I was being overcharged for. I asked around and a family friend who runs his own HVAC company in Stockton said he would come down and look at the unit. After completely inspecting the unit, he said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. There was no rust, there were no cracks, and he said that it was obvious that no one had even opened the unit up. He informed me that sometimes, especially after a unit has sat for long periods of time without being ran (mine hadnt been turned on for 8-9 months) - that you have to manually reset the ignition switches. He did this - and the unit turned on no problems and we have had no problems with it since. Aside from this review, I will be contacting AHS (who needs to know what kind of people they are contracted with).

I called Energy smart .. after I have been played by 3 different so called big contractors a friend of mine recomnded them to me .. and a Guy name Sar showed up wearing a shoe cover ( I was very impressed by that ) and got inside the attic and walla my AC is fixed .finally every one else were trying to sell me a new unit .. the guy was very nice knowlagble and polite .. I really cant be more satisfied .. I highly recommend them

It has been two week since I called for the service of the air conditioner. The technican showned up after one week !! The higherest temperature in this area has been over 105 degree. I waited for the whole week for Engergy Smart to send a report to my home warrenty company to get authorization to replace the compressor. Two weeks after the inital service call, the report is still not sent, and my tenants are suffering in the 105 degree heat!
