Had a great experience. I didnt catch her name but the girl with the short straight black hair was super helpful over the phone and in person and very straightforward with me. They had a game that was scratched to hell and was their only copy so she showed it to me and asked if I still wanted to buy it cause it clearly wouldnt have worked. So I really appreciate that she didnt just sell it to me and let me find out myself. Plus the store was just a joy to look around and I found a bunch of cool stuff. Id definitely recommend this place!

I’m leaving right now and I just needed to say the young gentleman working in here was a god send. My little grandkids are coming for ten days an I had zero clue as to what I’m doing with video games , he was patient and helpful, asked me questions about them and if I was ok with different content for them about each game. Nice experience and thankful to have a few games for them to play while they are here

Sold me a faulty DS and they only offer in store credit. Kinda annoying that they either didnt check the DS first or actually tried to sell me this broken ds that scratches up games. Pick your poison

Bros and chicks, dont count out your console. Bought a game that was well taken care for the Sega console. I was thinking the console was bad but turned out the games had gone bad but console worked perfect. 5 bucks for sonic 2 and to know my original console actually worked. Preciate it yall.

The staff is great and they have a great selection. Although some of their prices can be unfair. Caught them selling a used PS5 game for more that it was currently new.

Small intimate store with smart and helpful staff. I do like getting games and my wife likes browsing the movies. Best part of this particular store is it will accommodate a wheelchair, wide isle and clean. The only thing about this story I dont like is the constant rotating staff, but a very good store overall.

They have a pretty good selection of movies, as well as games and hardware too. Staff was pleasant, didnt notice any odd odors others have said they apparently noticed.

Super rude, condescending sales girls. As I was picking up 2 t shirts to purchase today, one girl said to the other, I just folded all of those shirts! I decided to purchase anyway, but as I was checking out, one clerk was arguing with the customer next to me, and the one checking me out was arguing with my boyfriend. All around horrible first experience. We will never shop there again. I hope management ramps up their customer service training.

Zero stars!! This was our first visit to this store. We were told by an employee that we could bring back our purchase within 24 hrs for a full refund. Upon trying to take it back we were informed that we could only get store credit.We were sold games that would not work with the game system we bought. Additionally the game system did not work properly. We are pretty upset that we basically got taken for $150.Apparently the management does not train their employees properly, so I would give advise to anyone not to visit this location or this chain.

These people are helpful. Polite and I am a frequent customer. A used Xbox 360 controller priced at double its value and I needed it . I was not happy

Zero stars. Sold me a game for the Wii that didnt work and didnt provide a refund. Then on another occasion an employee was extremely rude and snide when I asked why their Pokemon games were so overpriced. $130 for Pokemon XD is OUTRAGEOUS. GameStop, whom they claim to beat on pricing, sells them at the standard $40. Thats a $90 price difference. And keep in mind, their copy had sharpie marks all over the case and artwork. Then they were selling Pokemon Soul Silver for $80 when GameStop has it for $60 and eBay for $40, and finally, Pokemon Platinum for $70 when GameStop has it for $50. They do not beat GameStops prices by ANY means. I have never been to such a bad retro game, let alone, regular game store in my entire life. Do not come here. You will be ripped off and scammed.

Smelled really strongly of vape and was pretty dim inside. Probably wont be back. They did have the game I was looking for, so that was good. Havent tested it yet.Update: Game did not work on any of my PS3s. Didnt really test it until way past the deadline to return it. Fairly deep scratch well hidden in the artwork on the disc. If I would have looked at the disc in the store I would have seen it. Oh well, lesson learned.

Retro game hunting store for all your classic game systems and retro games that have gotten discontinued you can find almost all games here Game accesories also like rock band guitars Xbox kinect (Nintendo Gamecube) which are now rare to find in retail stores.The reason why i give it a 4 star its because their gamecubes are priced at $90 i understand theyre rare to find but Amazon is beating their price.

Horrible attitude from the thunder c as a manager, instead of approaching us like an adult, she complained about all of the customers within the store loudly to her employees and threatened to call the fire marshal because there were 6 of us instead of five. She wouldn’t allow an adult in with a minor and yes, I stepped in with my 12 year old...while she sat there having a happy long conversation with her friend at the checkout. Wanted us out quick, but there were others there way before us. Definitely needs a more mature manager that knows how to think critically and problem solve. And maybe clean all of the items that customers touched instead of running her mouth.All other employees were as sweet as can be

My favorite store in Fort Worth... Strangely addicted - please help but not really. I cant stop returning. Prices are off the walls cheap and the selection is almost as good as eBay. Staff is also super nerdy knowledgeable and they treat you like a best friend. Love it and i recommend to everyone. Been all over Fort Worth and no place can compare. Definitely unique and once in a lifetime experience which Ive opted to experience dozens of times.

Went and sold a ton of games today and they got through the process pretty quickly and were very reasonable about the price that they offered me. Friendly service and the woman that helped me was absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be visiting the Game Exchange on Alta Mere again!

Great place for hard to find older games

The stock is always changing, helpful employees and great prices.

I purchased a used PS4 with a controller for about $40 cheaper than a brand new one because of the ninety day warranty. The controller was initially kinda rough but they replaced it with one in perfect working condition with no problems. Overall I had a super pleasant experience and would recommend this place to anyone. They also have a great selection of used movies and games, including retro thats pretty decent.

Oh wow way better than Movie Trading Company I was in video heaven once I walked in. They have everything you want the people that work there are nice they will also check the discs to see if it’s been scratched. I would highly recommended going here if you still love collecting discs.

I can always find old and classic games and they give u a 90 defective warranty if the item was some how damaged before u bought it u could get store credit to get a replacement. Only thing Id change was some of the games are overpriced for how long theyve been out. I understand old and rare games are expensive but ps4 and xbox 1 games that hav been out for a long time being high is still kinda sad.

Friendly staff, good collection, easy to find what Im looking for and the prices arent too bad. Though its hard to get somebody to help you when theyre busy, they only staff a few people, so service isnt the best in certain situations. Id say early morning and afternoon are the best times. Other than that the place is great, and theyre one of the few places you can buy retro games at anymore, so thats a plus.

Movies and games good prices

Prices are good, customer service is good, no inventory system at this time means he cant see if he has something you need, its a hunt, they might be able to find it for you by knowing where to look but when I asked for a specific movie, they were to busy with customers to look with me. But they had a good inventory of products. Only had one worker, needs two. They dont repair systems either.

I didn’t buy anything on my visit, because I didn’t find what I was specifically looking for. I do have to say, though, big selection of movies and an okay assortment of games old and new. Prices are pretty acceptable, too. You’ll probably find some really good deals here!

Was happy they had what i wanted.

They TRY to compete with gamestops, prices. But their selection of gaming systems and the quality of them, combined with slightly higher prices leaves them lacking. On the plus side, their staff is friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable. I have been in sales for years and was impressed with the sales assistants resistance to reduce the price a couple of dollars to make an upset customer happy. It is because of the way the sales assistant handled himself that I give this rating for stars instead of two.

Simply love this place great selection that takes me back to being a kid the staff has been helpful and friendly every time I have visited. have yet to run into a long line or wait at this location PS4 selection leaves room for desire so bring your games in and lets make that change but all in all this is a hidden gem in gaming from the tranquil environment to friendly service and quick check out so I highly recommend you at least stop by and check it out

This place is better on prices than game stop most of the time. They also give decent in store credit for items you sell to them. We go semi often to look for games or get ideas for games we want to buy from eBay or Amazon. We like Game xchang and plan on continuing to visit for a long time.

Lots of classic stuff here. Cool snacks like meiji chocolate mushrooms and different ramune flavors. They have shirts, Blu rays, dvds, and of course games and game consoles. Everything seems well organized and clean. Seems like they actually care unlike places like Movie Trading Co. and half price books. Helpful staff.

Best way to buy games for any system, especially older ones.

This place is cool. Its a great place to get DVDs and video games at a good price. It also is a good place to sell media items when you want to clear some space at home.

I was blown away by how great this place was. Most game stores are way overpriced and have very little selection to choose from, but this game exchange has so many games and movies, and the prices are incredible! I think I left with 3 movies and a video game for like 12 bucks. And its not just retro games, although this is where they shine, they also have recent games.

We payed 40 dollars for one new controller and one used they won’t even give us a refund and when they did it was six dollars they over charge and have rude cashiers I don’t recommend this place unless you want to play 60 dollars for an off brand controller and get no money back

Great store, one of my favorite retro stores here in Fort Worth. They have a great selection of NES, SNES, N64 and many other systems. Staff is friendly and always willing to help.

I want to thank you all at this location. Im not a electronics person by no means and dont even know difference between games or gaming systems etc. I walked in and asked for something old school with multiple games for my brother-in-law for Christmas. I didnt want to spend an arm and leg. They showed me a few options and showed me one that came with all the stuff needed to run the system. So I didnt have to go to another store and looking like I didnt know what I was talking about in more than one store. My brother-in-law loved it! And he said hed been wanting one of those for years. I still have no idea which system i bought him. Lol. All that matters is he loves it! Thank you all for humoring a non gamer and electronically challenged person like myself. Dont sell your cards here!!!!!!! They wanted to give us less than 3$ for cards well worth more than that. Had multiple cards worth 10$ and multiple worth over 30$ all mint condition and thats not including the dozens of $1-$5 cards we had.

Good place to shop for games, accessories, and movies. There are some deals to be had on certain items, but they know whats up so expect to definitely pay retail price on most retro stuff. Definitely a good alternative to Gamestop.

Game selection is decent, but customer service is dreadful. I found a few items I wanted and took them to the cashier. After waiting in line more than 15 minutes, while the clerk dealt with a customer who was apparently trying to buy DVDs with a stack of prepaid debit cards, I gave up and left. No effort was made to even acknowledge me and others waiting in line. There are plenty of other places in DFW to buy used games, and I wont be back here.

Eh, for what its worth, this place is pretty decent, I frequently shop here for random stuff I cant wait on Amazon for or random hard-to-find games. This place isnt perfect, the employees are awesome and informative, prices are okay, and so far, its the best option around (trust me, LameStop and Hollywood Video are beat by Game Xchange). Fair warning, do not a cash refund on your purchases here, youll only be offered store credit... of course thats posted in the store and employees tell you that at the register. Company policy. Having said that, people will still expect a cash refund and get mad when it doesnt happen.... fun little experience if you ever catch it. Lastly, I do find it funny that some people mentioned their encounters with the District Manager, Coy. Hes certainly a character.
