Really cool foreign exclusives for Pokemon items, havent seen them anywhere else.BUT Extremely pricey Pokemon card prices, its becoming an exclusive luxury item and it used to be a really affordable hobby. Upsetting that its not accessible anymore even from local places like this, I was hoping they wouldnt succumb to the scalper problem but they seem to be contributing to it.

BUYER BEWARE: I purchased an item from this store yesterday for my 6 year old daughter. When I got home I realized the item was defective, she was super disappointed. Today we went in to return the item. Instead of exchanging my item that was obviously defective, the worker at the store told me I had to reach out to the manufacturer of the item, to get it replaced. Its a simple 80 slot card holder, two of the pages are upside down. Cards fall out because its upside down. He would not replace it. I have to now reach out to the manufacturer to have a new item given to me for my sweet disappointed 6 year old. So much for trying to support a local business... Super Bummed.

This company hosts a free tournament for Yugioh on Tuesdays. Given the time and climate that is insanely cool and unheard of. Not only is it free, but they give out prize support to the players. They additionally have a wide range of boardgames and various nerd/gamingproducts for sale inside and are a flashback to a well ran early 2000s comic book shop. Felt nostalgia being inside there. Great place

We are moving to Keller soon so I wanted to check out Sci-factory as it will likely be out new LGS. I was pleased to see the robust offering of miniatures, table top games, collectibles and a decent space for events. And, as is always crucial, a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. If you are looking for an extensive offering of modern board games, its a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, what they do have is often hard to find outside of a LGS: some great big box games and true hobbiest favorites you wont find at target. On the other hand, its a bit limited, maybe 2-3 standing shelves for board games, and Ive found there were often expansions for games when there were no base game or core sets available. Its a bit all over the place, in terms of what you could expect to find, with expansions for renowned big box games like Nemesis available (no core game but thats hard to come by for anyone) but other more common games were entirely absent. However, if you are into wargames with miniatures they have a great selection! An entire back wall and then some is full of sets of minis, tools of the trade for those who enjoy the painting aspect, and they have multiple raised tables for playing on. I stopped by on a weekend day and the place was packed with people playing. It seemed divided evenly between TCGs like MTG and various miniature based wargames. In fact, Ive not seen an LGS so lively in a long time! Its clearly got an active scene which is wonderful if your looking for people to play with. That brings me to my only draw backs: I think they may be in a renovation period, but there were some large piles of stuff just thrown together on the floor or sprawled across tables. It seemed surprisingly messy, but other pictures online show a much more put together store, so Im going to chalk that up to a redesign of the space in progress. There was one issue that kinda puts me off from making this my LGS home base: the weekend I visited with multiple events going on it was a bit ripe in there... I had visited other days and not noticed anything like it before. This is not a problem the store has full control over and one that is unfortunately notorious among the various hobby scenes youd expect to find at a LGS. However, it was very noticeable and a bit of a turn off. Not something the store itself is responsible for, but it is a consideration nonetheless. All told, sci-factory is a medium sized LGS with a good offering of table top games, a great offering of wargames and miniatures, plenty of goodies for those into collectible trading card games and the occasional hard to come by gem you wont find elsewhere. It could use a spruce and while the event scene seems lively, some of those attending might consider freshening up a bit before a day of gaming fun.Im hoping to visit often and make my boardgame purchases locally rather than online. If some of the concerns are amended I will be sure to up this review from 4 to 5 stars, as sci-fi factory has 5 star potential.

I very much appreciated them allowing me to get some back issue comic books for my daughter at a discounted price. Pretty cool store, does a good job of trying to stock things for all kinds of tabletop gamers.More than half of the space is dedicated to having tables for people to play on. Its a cute little shop but I wish there was more of a D&D selection. The customer service needs work. I browsed for a bit and really wanted to look at the dice in the case but the employee was busy ringing people up. No biggie, I waited. When he was finished, he walked right past me and proceeded to help a buddy select cards for the magic tournament. When he did finally notice that I was waiting on him, he told me to wait until he was finished helping his buddy. I finally got to look at the dice I was interested in but because he clearly had no interest in selling me anything, I decided not to buy them after all.

I guess I looked like I didnt know what I wanted in the comic book section, a nice man came up to me and asked me if I was trying to find something. I told him I hadnt read any comics and was looking to get started in something (preferably from the beginning), he took a minute and gave me his favorites with explanations for each. I walked out of there with a 4 pack. ;)Inventory: This place has everything. Board games, card games, and things that are both and neither, most of which all looked interesting but Id never heard of.Community: The Sci Fi Factory has regular game nights and tournaments throughout the week. Most of the games are complex, but everyone is so passionate about their games theyre usually all open to explaining them.Fun Tidbit: This place has 30-40 different board and card games all opened up in the corner for anyone to just waltz up to and try out, they have tables set up for you to bring a group to try something out.Come again? Absolutely, Ill be coming if I ever need something interesting or different. And, to get the next comic in my series!!

Come on Tuesday and youre guaranteed to have fun. There seem to be events every night of the week. Some nights there are Magic Card battles and others there are Pokemon. If there isnt an event going on that youd like to see going on, if you just ask, their friendly staff will probably help to accommodate you and start one up.I have noticed that on major event nights, it gets a little crowded for everyone else that just wants to shop there. That said, if someone was to ask one of the staff for assistance, they would have help finding whatever they need.I noticed that some reviews say that they werent greeted, but I believe that was probably because that staff might have been busy at the time. I know on Tuesdays there are sometimes 30 people playing various board games and the staff is pretty busy. Even when they are super busy, the staff is very good about keeping an eye out for customers that come up to the counter. When asked, the staff is very accommodating and will help you find whatever you need and answer any question to the best of their ability.
