My daughter who recently moved to Fort Lee as she attends a local college, has had some recent bad luck with her car. I found A-1 Towing & Auto Repair, checked the reviews and gave them a call to help my daughter who is far from home. These guys are amazing, especially the owner. He got my daughter’s car in immediately every time and she needed 3 major repairs within a month. They are honest and repair costs are honest too. The staff is awesome and friendly! They are our one and only mechanics now. Highly recommend 🤩

I asked for the price before the towing but they continue to ignore and change the conversation and did not tell me it was $550 FOR A TOW until we got to the tow lot and i said i did not have that much cash on me and they took me mcdonals for an atm. i told him let me call my dad to discuss the price because i was just inform of the price. mind you this was not even a 10 mile tow and they are charging me $550????!!!? and they threaten to take my car if i didn’t not pay right then right there. i told him give me 5 minutes let me call my dad and he wouldn’t listen and proceed to leave me in a random parking lot and taking my car away. then i told him i’ll pay the $550 which is an insane price from 10 miles!!! and he just left my car in a random shoprite parking lot??? not even in his lot! and when he was towing my car he damaged my number and just rip the tow cap off and completely damaged my car tire, an 1 inch rip on it! horrible business!!

I had Abe he came out to tow my SUV that was flooded in the basement of my building garage. For 5 days I couldn’t get anyone that was equipped to remove it because of the low ceiling height and it wasn’t drivable. He got the job done without a Complaint. He’s very kind and considerate of my feelings. I highly recommend them for any service that you might need.

TLDR; I would suggest these guys to anyone in the area. Abe was honest and honestly cared about me as a customer. Great rates, great service, dont let the small crowded garage discourage you.On my way to work the engine on my car died. I was overdue for a oil change and little did I know my oil was low. To make matters worse sensors didnt pick it up until it was in its death throws. I was a fool and had to suffer with it and learned my lesson too late. I first went to conglomerate tire shop down the street. They looked at it shrugged and said new engine $4k.I needed a tow and was going to store the car at my workplace until we could figure something out. I called A1 for a tow but Abe asked what the problem was and said he wanted to take a look. He towed the car over and tried the next day but he couldnt fix it without a replacement. Lucky for me though, he then proceeded to find me a replacement for much less than what the other location wanted and with less mileage!Not only that, he was extremely patient with me getting everything in order as I kept him up to date on finding the funds. I was shocked as to how much trust he put in to me as a new customer. After I had left the car sitting there for a while, they topped off all fluids under the hood and it is running great now.

Towed a car not only without informing the price beforehand but charged an extreme price. Also during the process the car was damaged and left in a lot with no care. Not the way to handle a situation.

This is the second time we had to get the car fixed in a hurry, before embarking on a road trip. These guys went above and beyond to get the car ready in time for our trip.Their recommendations were really honest and trustworthy, and never pushed for more than what was needed. On the contrary, they even pushed me to get my annual done at the dealership (because I get it for free) and not there.

They ruined my brothers car and didnt even apologize for it, this was a traumatizing experience for him, i hope god forgives you for what youve done

Recently, while driving in the express lane approaching the GW Bridge, my car suddenly started making a loud thunking noise as I was dragging something. Luckily i got off at the last exit before the bridge in Fort Lee, and pulled into a gas station on Lemoine Avenue. A-1 Towing & Repair was right next store. I walked over, met Avi, who immediately made space in his schedule for me. Within an hour my problem was solved — evidently my mechanic hadn’t secured my car’s aluminum bottom panel during a recent service and it was partially down. Avi’s guys removed it and I’m having it reattached by my mechanic. Not only was Avi very professional and efficient, he was so humane, offering my physically challenged husband a place to sit in his office. When I asked him how much I owed him, he left the amount up to me. So…no price gouging, no drama, just a good guy who helped out a fellow human being in distress. Avi, I hope you’re reading this because I want you to know how much your help meant to my husband and me. Call the guy for tow using USAA app. They’re the most rude, unprofessional, towing company I ever had the displeasure of using. These guys somehow think they’re Gods gift. Not only did they not come but they also cursed me out on the phone for calling them for a update. I’m telling you now don’t use there services

I had an incredible experience on Friday when my car broke down & started smoking a couple of blocks away from this shop. I also need it to file a small claims suit in the Bergen County courts:I had my 07 Jeep JK starter replaced here over a month ago, but the car continued to give me trouble - it would not turn over. When I went to pick up the car, the owner/manager charged me $485 CASH, and said he would email me the receipt.I kept having the intermittent starting issue, so I went back, and he told me that next time I had this issue, to put the car in the neutral, and start it, and come back. Then I said that I still had not gotten a receipt from him, to which he assuredThe issue continued, so I took it to another place who said it was NOT the starter, but a RANGE SENSOR issue (inside gear shift box), and had it fixed.I need to deal with this issue with the Russian gentleman at A1 Towing and Auto Repair, but he has still not sent me the receipt. I shouldve never left without a receipt, but the owner was very trustworthy at the time, so I did not think about it. Buyer beware, I guess.

I would not even have given them this start they are horrible I had got a flat tire traveling and they were the closet they didn’t have my tire size so they and my spare tried rim was cracked so they stated the will take the rim off the spare and use that not once did they mention that it was an extra 20 dollars so when I went to pay for the flat tire which was 20 I proceeded to get into my car the owner runs up to me and ask me multiple time oh did you pay oh did you pay and I yes I did I paid 20 dollars he questions me and go are you sure I said yes I paid the lady 20 dollars he mentions to me on no sorry we had to do and extra step it’s now 40. While waiting there were two other Costumers waiting for them to look at repair the shop had already repairs but is still not working I don’t recommend Anyone to use this place they own machines don’t even know the prices for half the shot people ask in this place

Had a tire blow out at 11pm and needed a place for two truck to drop off my car. I looked on Google maps for a place that may help. This place was said to be 24 hours. I managed to make it here and place was closed. Lights were on, so I tried calling. I got an answer but person said no one is at the shop. They should update their hours. I would have gotten a tow to a different place if the hours were accurate.

I got a flat tire. The owner charged me $30 to take off the flat tire and put on the spare tire. Thats crazy! Then I handed him my card to pay and he put my card on his dest when he was done with it instead of handing it back to me all while his fingers were covered with flavor because of the chips he was eating! Horrible!The mechanics on the other hand was great!Never again will I go to this shop.

Ive been trying few auto repairs in the area during the last two years, and found them either not-trustworthy and/or overpricing. Since I found out about this place I never had to consider another garage. Great and kind service, very trustworthy owners, and highly profesional work, and with very fair pricing.

Unfortunately I have had to have my Honda Pilot towed twice in the last three months for separate issues. Both times Abe made the experience quick and efficient. As well as the quick response time if you need towing the repairs are just as prompt. We have been very happy with the service we have received from A-1 Towing and Repair.

I am so happy that I stumbled across this little gem in Fort Lee! I had previously gotten my car assessed elsewhere and was told it would cost me $700 and two days. At A1, I was told $135 and a few hours. I was even given a ride home. They’re kind and helpful. I love that this place is skilled in fixing problems and don’t just jump to replacing everything so they can make more money. My car is doing great and I look forward to their help if I need it again.

While customer service side wasnt the best, this mechanic is a very honest man. He could have easily charged me for a full transmission replacement as I was certain it was blown. But instead he found a much smaller problem and saved me $1,000. My only complaint was the communication leading up to it. He had the car for just shy of 3 weeks. There was also a muddy mess in the back where his dog had been in the back of the car. There were little muddy footprints everywhere all over my leather.

Co-worker told me about A-1 for good service and fair prices. I recommend it for great price and terrific service. Man I paid a little over 1/3 what my dealerships been charging me for Exactly same parts and labor, then having to wait, wait, then wait! My car warranty covered every last nickle. Couldnt care less that my dealership serves free coffee and doughnuts. Bought my mini-cooper in 2014 (83 miles--sweet) and always to dealership for servicing and repairs, assuming car warranty wouldnt cover me otherwise. For a simple oil change dealership outrageous. From a mechanic at the dealership I heard FTC holds illegal that a Warranty require dealership repairs.Turns out to be true. Not only was the service fast and inexpensive, the manager, Abe, brought me to the bay area where he and the mechanic showed and let me know in plain English what needed to be done, how long it would take, and how much. Twenty minutes later the mechanic brought over 4 empty can Pennzoil Plat, my old oil filter and two 12 corroded (faulty) wires. Everything aboveboard. Not much to ask--at all.

I have been going to this shop for over 10 years for my regular car checkups and oil change, as well as for repairs on dents, flat tires, and paint. The shop has always serviced my car quickly ans professionally and were able to get my car repaired within two days at most. The thing I appreciate the most, given I know nothing about cars, is that they are extremely honest and professional. I regularly consult with Avi the owner on car problems before even bringing the car to his shop and he gives me reliable advice even if it’s not economically beneficial for him. Call Allstate for a tow no problem match me w/ this company 1.5 hour que time. 1.5 hours passes, oh another 1.5 hours longer no call or anything. If all your tows are busy why the hell would you accept a tow contract from all state, oh that right because ur greedy AF. If you call rode side assistance and they match you with this company, call back and ask them for a different one.

A1 Towing is a life saver! My car died in the middle of a road while driving due to alternator damage. I kind of panicked and called to bunch of different mechanics in the area. Dispatched by the insurance company, they said 1 hour wait. guy from the company calls almost an hour later says he’s 30 minutes away.. ok fine... 2 hours pass by i call the insurance company and the guy no one can get in touch with them. no show. at least tell your customer you can’t do the job don’t leave them waiting. i wasted over 4 hours until i was able to find someone else on a sunday night.Edit: in response to owner.. added screen shot with phone number in a text from my insurance company. yes company name is different united towing but same phone number listed as a1 towing. if you google the name it all points to a1.

Spent 2000 at the dealership to fix a rattle underneath. After picking it up and driving it to work, STILL A RATTLE. Found Abe and A1 during my lunch break and went over after work. Within minutes they knew exactly what the issue was and did the work cheaper and correctly first time around. Saved my torque converter too! Thanks guys

My son and I were traveling from Albany, N.Y. to Baltimore, MD before heading home to W.V. He is a crook he ripped me off for over three thousand dollars. He did nothing to fix my car my car was in his shop for almost two months and it was in worse condition than when I dropped it off. I took him to court and the judge knew he was lying but since I didnt have a BMW expert she couldnt honor my case. Dont trust that guy

A Plus all around. Went in with a massive safety issue that I thought was a heater core leaking. It was actually a bad resistor and a fan motor that nearly caught the car on fire. Immediately diagnosed. Gave very fair price and fixed same day. You really cant better service or value for the mighty $.
