Had an amazing experience!Staff was super friendly and genuine. We felt as if we were long time regulars. There is live music on Saturdays which was was nice surprise. The restaurant is clean and feels welcoming. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. No complaints 👌We almost decided against going inside because of the awning. It doesnt do the restaurant justice and I think if it was changed, it could bring new people in.

We stopped here for breakfast while in town for the Eagles and Cowboys game. The food and the southern hospitality were amazing. I highly recommend the catfish. Everything was delicious and the staff was very kind.

Toast had weird aftertaste, we mentioned it to the server. Only to be shown the bread bag. Biscuit and gravy, more like roll and white cream. The home fries were burn to a crisp. The chicken fried steak, was mostly batter no meat. The ice tea was great.

Been here a couple of times. Today they had a guy playing a guitar and singing. He was ok and certainly would not go to watch him. The food is good but nothing special. The wait staff is great. Make you feel comfortable and are welcoming. Over all I enjoyed the placed and will go whenever I dont feel like cooking at home.

We live less than 5mins from here. Waited at the door till a waitress told us we could sit anywhere.. thats fine not a problem but after we sat down at around 11am others walked in around 11:20 and were given menus, we are still waiting on anything being patient 11:30 still nothing we were told by a passing waitress she would be right with us earlier. And we sat right near the kitchen traffic area passed multiple times so no excuses can be said. No EXCUSES.

Good place to have center cut pork chops and eggs. The service is good but be prepared to wait when it gets busy. It would have gotten 5 stars but the Texas waffle was taken out of the menu.

Yesterday I went to The Texan Kitchen for the first time as suggested by someone else. I had never heard of it. The shopping center is run down and the outside of the building made me question what I was getting myself into. However once you step inside it’s very cozy and reminds me of a small local diner from my childhood. Everything is simple and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly. The menu is great especially for burgers and breakfast. I had the chorizo burger with onion rings. The onion rings were crisp and the burger was full of flavor and very moist. This was around 11am on a Saturday morning. They had a chill live musician playing guitar. Some George Straight, some Oasis, and more songs played in the background. There’s a bakery case upfront and a soda fridge and you pay at the register which all felt very nostalgic. It’s clean and I saw several families with children as well.

The ladies were very nice .. I had the chorizo burger. Excellent. Ill definitely be back.

Loved it! It has a real small-town, homey vibe. The food was delicious and I felt very welcome the whole time. Plus, the servers were very friendly and knew their menu very well. Highly recommend it!

Best comfort food in the Mid-Cities. First time there and the breakfast plates were HUGE. Excellent coffee as well. The exterior may not win any beauty contests, but go inside and the food, service and reasonable prices make up for that.

Me my husband and two smaller children ate here and loved it! Mrs.V (I forgot her beautiful name) treated us so nicely! I love how personable and sweet she was! Me and my husband love great customer service and we definitely got it here! We will be back!

It was our 1st and last time we had a very simple order and couldnt get i asked for sweet tea light ice for medical reasons and was brought a full glass i ask for onion rings and a side of okra did not get the onion rings

Had breakfast here and ordered 2 omelettes. They tasted really good. Large portions with the omelettes and sides. Our waitress was very nice.They have a stage for live music.

Service was great, atmosphere a little disappointing, but food was good. I debated 4 stars, so somewhere in between is probably right. They were out of sirloin, so I had the club sandwich, which was good.

The food is great. The staff is phenomenal. A great place for a really filling and tasty breakfast or lunch. The chicken fried steak is hand dipped on site, not frozen.

When we walked in no one was at the hostess stand, someone came by finally and said sit anywhere you like. Then after sitting for a while, we had to get up and let someone know we were there because no-one had come by. Its one big open room. It was not busy and it took FOREVER to get breakfast for 1 adult and 2 kids. The waitress called me baby girl repeatedly which was annoying and felt inappropriate. The food was not bad but not worth the wait.

Went for lunch today…haven’t been in over a year. The food was delicious and the service was great!

Great tasting chicken fried steak... you could taste the fresh homemade batter... tasted like fried chicken.... really delicious... and the gravy was right there with the batter.. the service was very friendly and prompt.. highly recommend this establishment...

My wife and I have tried this place a few weeks ago and we have been coming back ever since. The staff is fantastic, Vianey makes the place feel like home.The food is great and fresh, the hamburger is the best in the city, they have a singer on Saturdays for breakfast and lunch and he’s great a meal and entertainment.Great cafe it’s what you want in your to go place.

Order Lg Catfish plate it comes with two sides and a bowl of soup or one side and salad so waitress say we have no soup whats your two sides I had too read the menu to her before she said oh say you can have the sald instead. It also comes with commentary cornbread the fish comes with huppy so she only brought out the huppys I ask about the cornbread she said but. Here is the huppys but you want cornbread to my two sides were both beans yes I need cornbread. Had water one glass only got ready to go she seen this.( You need more water ) I smile and said yes and a to go box please. Food good just not enough help to make service good.

Had catfish & meatloaf, was delicious but too salty. Veges were delicious. The fried pickles were awesome. Wait staff good. Probably wont return due to saltiness of meat dishes. No alcohol served.

Such a great place to eat. Large portions. Low price. Delicious eggs, shedded steak and hash browns. I love the live music they had on Saturday morning it was so relaxing and way more pleasant than most diners that have the same 4 songs on repeat (the last one I went to played despacito at least 3 times in 1 hour). My waitress was so friendly and accommodating. The wait was like 40 minutes but I had the time to kill lol.

What can I say, home cooking is a wonderful weekend meal...Victoria is a great person to wait on us...she always smiling,does her best to remember the usuals..I recommend this place for a great home cooked breakfast and a great staff!!

Great food at a great price. The staff was very helpful and explained anything on the menu that we were confused about. All wait staff waited on all tables. The live music during breakfast was an added touch.

Just ate here for the first time today and the food was delicious! Im new to the area and was hoping to find a good breakfast place and I am pretty sure this is the one! Its also really close to where I live. I just wish they still had the waffles.

This place is really a very neat little joint. The servers were both very nice, and the one serving my table was super nice. The food was good and very cheap. Service is very attentive and my coffee never got low, which is important for me. There was a live guitarist playing, but not at an annoyingly loud level to where conversation is impossible. Definitely worth check out if youre in the area!

Today my friend taken me out for lunch, and this is the place that she chose. The waitresses were super nice and very informative about the menu. We both truly enjoyed our meal and will be returning back.

Hole in the wall thats got some really good food. The Southwest Chicken sandwich is exceptionally good. Burgers are 🔥 made with handmade patties. The breakfast is not to be missed as they serve all day. Great waitress, they even have a little live music on Fridays. Give it a try youll be back!!

Still the best peanut butter burger I’ve had. I’ve tried several places, experimenting with other joints burgers but nothing really comes close. Hell, this one Polski place came very close but it burnt down.

Was our first time at the restaurant. My husband ordered the burger combo and I ordered the seafood combo. They both were phenomenal. The two ladies that waited on us where fantastic. We didnt have to ask for a thing and we left taking a to go box. The only thing that I would comment on is my husband ordered a side salad it was a small saucer plate with a lettuce and a couple of tomatoes and they charged us 350 for that little bitty plate that was nothing but lettuce. That small of a salad should have been a lot less but we definitely will go back

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this great place. happy to tell that we enjoyed a fine evening and the restaurant was certainly one of the reasons for that strong meeting. The crew helped in a gorgeous manner, the meals were appetizing and my guests were so happy. We shall no dout come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

This place was really good a few years ago, now I never know when it’s open, the hours have changed dramatically. They have a few good items it depends on who’s cooking that day. They always have a soup of the day, and pies normally.

I had the sirloin and eggs, frankly I was surprised at how good the steak was, the grits were perfect, everything else on both the breakfast and dinner menus looked great, and HOLY COW OUR WAITRESS WAS SO NICE. Also, most of the staff I met was fluent in Spanish. My Spanish sucks, but if that helps you, thatll definitely help.

Amazing! I absolutely love the staff and chefs. The food here is delicious all the time. I love ordering the chicken bacon salad. The amount of food you get for the price is great. I would recommend coming here to anyone.

It is an established location with years under its belt. Time shows on the wear and tear. It was clean but a bit on the drab side in appearance. Food came quickly as things were a bit slow that day, but it was just ok. Flavors were not unique or even good. Pancakes, while they looked fluffy, had a chewy gummy texture. What made this a fair experience was the waitress did a great job with a smile. My omelet was fair tasting, good enough portions of food, just wish they had more FLAVOR! Sorry no photos available as I had a surprise breakfast date and left the phone in the car.
