Great hardware store, well stocked, reasonable prices, helpful staff. I am from out of town, visit regularly, wish I had a place like this back home. Oh I just saw Hanah McDonalds review... huh?? She must have the wrong store. I have never seen any dogs in this store.

I have gone there for years. I started going there because their parking lot was a place to park during the cruise the gut days. The manager told the police we had his permission. Shopped there ever since. Always have what I need and always friendly people working there

Picked up some trash cans for my boss. The cashier was nice enough, but the guy who helped me get them out could have been nicer. The comments about my small car and his neglect in helping me finish loading were pretty rude.

I usually love this store but am absolutely shocked to see they are still selling Roundup. Such a dangerous set of chemicals from a multinational that could care less. Take a stand, True Value. Til then, no more biz. Its a shame.

I have no idea how this store has so many good reviews. Maybe the staff is giving some of them. The absolute worst hardware store I have ever been in in my life. It wasnt one or two or was ALL the staff that was rude. Rude to me, rude to the little old lady in line, rude to a guy asking about screws. To say they were condescending is a compliment. Had about 6 of the bolts I needed. What a joke. I will never set foot in that ratty store again.Oh, they also had about 4 or 5 dogs in the store GROWLING at people and other dogs. I mean really? Really? Some people are terrified of dogs. And allergic. So having one growling right next to you is not cool. I went in for bolts and left in a panic attack. I dont know why they just couldnt be professional and not so rude to their customers. I wasnt rude to them. Terrible place. Just like, really bad.

It is awesome. The way a hardware store should be. Reasonable pricing, great selection of what you need and definitely bigger than it looks from the street.

I have lived in this area for over 40 years. Some businesses give A+ attention to customers. True Value on Willamette gives A++. No matter what time of day, what month - I get the best, professional attention, and the finest products. And, I know how they do i! Excellent management, and excellent staff!! Thanks for guiding me in every project Ive ever done for the last 40 years. :-)

Always call because they probably do not have what you need. Half of the staff are extremely kind and helpful and the other half are unnecessarily rude, give bad advice, and need to be fired.

Bad customer service - went to get paint and they gave us the wrong gloss. When we were leaving to go exchange for the correct paint, one of the quarts fell and exploded open, causing damage to our clothing, interior wood floors, and exterior. They called us “hysterical” “liars” and threatened to have the police come for “trespassing” before they decided to call the manager for approval to exchange the paint. Wil never come here for household improvements again. Do not recommend if you enjoy being treated like a person.

This is a small hardware and kitchen ware store with a good variety of products. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Im so glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Lots of supplies and helpful staff. If you want to avoid traffic use the back parking lot and entrance, especially while construction on Willamette is happening.

If you live in south eugene it will save you a lot of driving. Unfortunately they arent open early or late and dont have that much stuff but thats what Jerrys home improvement is for. Most of the employees are quite knowledgeable and friendly.

The staff is shockingly rude. It would be laughable if it wasnt so deeply rooted. Plenty of other places to give my time and money to. 10/10 DO NOT recommend

It’s no Jerry’s. It was fine, it had what I needed, the store is laid out very nicely, the staff was okay - that’s the only reason it’s a 4 star, I don’t think I would choose to go here over Jerry’s if it wasn’t 20 minutes closer to my house than Jerry’s. It’s way better than Home Depot/Lowe’s kind of places though, it’s a solid hardware store.

This is a great hardware store. Extremely helpful and expert staff can answer most any home engineering problem. Prices are reasonable and they have a wide range of hard to find items.

A staple South Eugene hardware store. Good selection (for a relatively tight hardware store), very friendly and knowledge staff and fair pricing. Feels good doing business with them than going to Home Depot and NOT getting friendly, useful help.

Helpful employees keep the store stocked and the customers happy. We go there for almost everything from bug spray to electrical and plumbing supplies. Two parking lots and located near other retail stores to make the trip an errand ender.

Pretty much done with this place. My wife getting talked down to and ignored by the men who work here has gotten old. Shop elsewhere people.

Have been a TrueValue customer for over 20 years and always enjoyed the convenient location. Having a long time local hardware store has been worth the increased price for decreased selection, until a recently bad experience makes me doubt their professionalism. Most products in stock can be found at other nearby retailers for lower prices. I do not plan to shop at this retailer again.

Save your time and money. The selection here is limited you could probably get it at Walmart if they have it and at a better price. The service is far from that, rude employees both times Ive been here. Unless its an emergency and Im right there I wont be back

It always seems well staffed and they are friendly and eager to help! There are technically two floors to the place and theres a cashier on both floors. They have a front parking lot and back one and it seems they also have all things you may need all year for a property/home.

Helpful staff and most everything you would need/expect to find in a medium size hardware store. Convenient in South Eugene, so you dont have to go out to the edge of town to get something you forgot for a project. A great store!

This is a great local hardware store. They are conveniently located in South Eugene and are easily accessible by car or bike. They carry a good selection and the people are pretty knowledgeable about plumbing and some electrical. It is a much quicker trip here than to one of the big box stores.

Eugene hardware has been serving Eugene for over six decades that I can attest to. One of those disappearing one time staples of a community... a hardware store where there is a staff that knows their product and are willing to help you. Even if it is only a 14 cent screw or something much more. Has an excelent selection of canning supplies and household items as well. Cannot say how much I have appreciated having Eugene Hardware as my neighborhood hardware store

Love this place.

It’s my “go to place” when I need a variety of parts for plumbing, electric, canning, storage, and the like. I am sure someone there has an occasional bad day but they have always been cheerful and positive when I’ve gone there. They’re a great local store. Sorta like Quakenbush but a little smaller.

Hit and miss service. But also a very convenient location that has a surprising amount of inventory. Prices are decent. I wish they were open later.I have had a few pleasant experiences here as well as a few down right rude interactions.All in all-- Im happy its in my neighborhood but there is some big room for improvement on the service side.

Always a good time at the hardware shop. Good sense of humor from the staff. Pretty good to get it in south Eugene rather than making the journey west.

Good local store

I have been shopping here since I was holding my fathers hand to go up the stairs, now I am a grandfather. This is the best, most amazing hardware store around. I have an 80 year old house, and I restore antiques as a Hobby and this store has almost everything I ever need. An impressive collection of nut, bolts, and fasteners. Sure once in a while there is something the cant stock due to the size of the building, and I have to go to the big box, but its a small store and I accept that. I support this store and will always come here first. Thanks for being there.

Hardware stores are among my favorite places on the planet! This one was no exception, with a friendly staff and great inventory. They had exactly what I needed, at a reasonable price.

I love that this is a neighboohood store where they take the time to get to know their customers, work to find the best product for your needs, bale you out of your DIY mistakes and are just the nicest people ever. Ive been shopping here since 1975.

Sometimes that Amazon Prime shipment just cant get to you soon enough. Luckily, its during those moments that you have an excellent resource in the True Value off of Willamette Street. A staple of old-town Eugene, youd be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable or friendly staff around. Seriously. The cheerful women and men working those countertops know their products and services like no other. Theyve guided me out of being stumped on many home improvement projects. Sure, the prices arent the absolute lowest, but when you combine the excellent service and wide variety of tools & goods it more than justifies the extra buck or two.

Great location. Has everything youll need. There are a few employees who are wonderful, warm and helpful. But on multiple occasions there are some employees who are just plain rude. And its the same people every time.

Top notch customer service and a very good place to buy a barbeque. I have been doing business with them for close to 50 years. I have found Eugene True Value Hardware to be the best of the small hardware stores and Jerrys Home Improvement Center to be the best of the large hardware stores. I used to drive from NW Eugene to SE Eugene to shop at Eugene True Value Hardware now we live in the area and come here first then head for Jerrys for the larger volume items. We are probably 50/50 between the two stores.

Bought a loper and returned it within a week as it seized up and quit working. While I was waiting for my refund an employee standing with the cashier took the tool and worked on it for a few minutes. He stated someone really did a number tightening these screws. I said it must have been the factory and the employee said I dont know that. I repeated it must have been the factory because I did not touch the screws. He had the audacity to repeat I dont know that. I dont have to take this sort of abuse as there are other places to take my business.

Eugene (especially SE/S Eug) is very lucky to have this family-owned & operated hardware store. I lived1 mi from them for 11 years and soon found how knowledgeable & helpful they were/are. Once, on a very cold 4-day holiday wknd, I was stuck in a tricky predicament where my kitchen sink (freq used in my place!) was leaking. I was having to dump water outside & wash my dishes in the tub. Fun, huh? My jerk rental prop manager, Bill Nelson of R& R properties, refused to give me an emergency # (isn’t that illegal?) so I had to tackle it myself (!). No, I’d no previous plumbing experience before that! Well! the nice employees (some are relatives of the owner) in the hardware section deciphered it was a custom job & helped me figure it out via a semi-dark camera pic (I had to go back to the store ~5x over 3-4 days to ask for help every step of the way). Now how many places would be so willingly helpful & patient as that? Not once did they treat me like I was a bother & each time gave me the time I needed to help me, no matter how busy it was in the store. From that point on I’ve been a loyal customer, even tho I no longer live near the store. Oh! and when a plumber came to fix a different problem at a later date I asked him what my repairs would’ve cost on that repair had I been able to call a plumber vs doing it myself. He said with it being a holiday wknd & the custom job it was, it was minimum of $400! (R&R prop mgmnt had the gall to reimburse me only $41 for all the parts I’d bought & needed even tho it’d taken me 4 days to fix! Grrrrr! Special tools were borrowed from a handyman neighbor because R&R said they’d only reimburse anything if they approved the repair [after-the-fact, meaning you could risk R&R unethically denying it & get reamed with an exorbitant bill!].). Anyhoo, True Value Eugene easily gets a 5+ star rating.....and R&R Properties gets an exponential negative rating!

I needed to make a small cover for my crawl space. I asked what to buy and how to do it and the guy helping me went ahead and built it in about 5 minutes. This is not unusual they really go out of their way for customers.

Im shocked by the number of positive review for this place. I have been shopping here for ten years and I could count on one hand the number of positive experiences I have had. The only reason they are still open is due to a lack of competition in the area. Sorry, but being local doesnt make up for rude tellers. My kids and I wont check out down stairs when the older female teller is working. She always seems so miserable, and scares my kids.

I went there today...I was looking for a zero gravity patio lounger, a coworker had told me the store in philomath had them and they were a great price, the Eugene store finally got someone to help me only to have the person be obnoxiously rude! Needless to say I will never go into that store again!

I have been in here many times. Always ask if I have rewards. I said no, no one even asks if I want to join. I said to the cashier this morning that I didnt even know what it was, she laughed and ignored the topic. Then I came back and you dont carry sprinkler wire or sprinkler heads. Waste of my time. Try to shop local and this is what I get. I couldnt even get 3/4 pvc elbows yesterday. Im done with this store.

What I like is that if I need only a couple of screws or bolt, I can get it (not like Home Depot or Jerrys where they sell an odd number in a box). The guys who work there are also helpful if I need help finding something. Only wish there was a True Value in Springfield.

Extremely disappointed with how management handled my return of a $20 item. It didn’t work for what it was advertised for (home electronic repair), tried to return within hours after buying with with receipt, original packaging, and everything it came with. I spend thousands of dollars here per year, will be making the trip to Home Depot instead from now on.

They work hard to weasel out of their warranties on garden tools, hoses and probably other things, so be very carefulthis place has changed in the last few years and most of the better and more knowledgable staff are either retired or have flown the coop

The store is very organized for its large size. Their products are seasonal so they might not have what youre looking for depending on the time of year.

Great variety of merchandise; very helpful and knowledgeable employees; friendly and efficient cashiers.

Its worth noting that even some four star reviews mention poor service.
