The wonderful book section plus they always have gorgeous fresh cut flowers, seasonal gifts and things for you and your home. Its always refreshing to go shopping at Kiva!

A few days ago I was tipped off that the deli was serving a Croatian Sour soup. Intrigued I made my way down to purchase a bowl. It seemed a simple affair. Chunks of potato , onion, parsnip, and carrot - the simple signs of Fall - floating in a dark amber broth that released a full, rich aroma as I stirred it.It is no stretch to say that this was absolutely the best soup Ive tasted in a good long while. All of its components melded together perfectly. The broth was savory and had an addictive round sourness on the backend courtesy of tender, translucent threads of sauerkraut. Each of the vegetables held their own, spoon by spoon, firm and flavorful. It was gone too quickly and left me wanting more. A well deserved round of applause to the Kitchen. I will be doing my best to stash away as much of this amazing soup in my freezer as possible. My own horde of warm winter smiles in the waiting.

The Kiva is the best local grocery store! With sandwiches to die for.

Literally just drove into town to move my daughter to grad school. Decided to check out the local stores and buy groceries. This was the first store we walked into. I asked about buying tea and he said I could buy it but not drink it until I left. Fair. I pulled my mask down to smell the tea and was instantly accosted by a person yelling at me. I apologized and this person continued screaming telling me I knew better. I have traveled a lot but have never been treated so badly. I put down the lukewarm tea and walked out. Not the best first impression of Eugene.

How can this place call itself health/ environment conscious when it has tons of dairy products and not a single vegan yogurt.... it has generic conglomerate cow brands from far away too. All these animal products are destroying our environment and the store needs to wake up.

Visited Eugene quite a few times in the past year and now am planning on moving here. I cant wait to make Kiva one of my regular grocery stops 🙂

Began shopping at Kiva in 84 after moving to Eugene from Spokane WA. I especially love their deli sandwiches. You can choose from so many fresh ingredients.

Horrible and mean employees. I witness today they bullied a father from getting food for his kids all because they didn’t like his mask!!! It was crazy! They were hostile, bully, forceful and hatful, after he was already helped at the deli and the cheese section and walked around the whole store and even after he swiped his card they were chastising and bullying him the whole time and then they took his food that he was buying for several children and stopped his transaction and didn’t let him have food. They turned a father away from buying food because they didn’t like his mask. Definitely don’t want to support a business that feels so emboldened and hatful to police and abuse their customers and disrespect and make any parents life harder then it already is and allows children to go hungry with frustrated parents. Wow. Shameful!

I liked this place a ton. They have a cute deli counter with pre-made sandwiches available Monday-Friday. They have all kinds of groceries and a book corner. I got a garlic kale roll for lunch from their bakery section. Also they have all kinds of German gummies I havent seen in America. The kinds of stuff we used to get in Germany when I was little. The packaging was all in German. I would like to go back to this grocery store sometime!

Cool place, I little spendy

The employees have always been polite and helpful. I really enjoy the fiesta fajita and italian burritos they get from portland once a week that are made by the higher taste company.

I love the Kiva! They have all things good and healthy. Ear candles, natural health and beauty products, sage bundles, those fabulous incense matches, bulk teas and spices, supreme chocolate bars, their deli...

They have great salads and soup good snacks and yummy beer.

Great local downtown grocer. Has almost everything Im looking for at any given time. One of the best produce sections, amazing deli, helpful staff. Been a customer for 10+ years, look forward to being a customer for 10 more.

I love having the Kiva in town as an alternative to Whole Foods, its great to shop at an independent store with character and history. They have an impressive international foods section with great prices and I always like browsing their cold drink aisle for unique local selections.

I dont see what the big deal is about this store. Just like any corner market with canned and packaged food, nothing special. Although it is cleaner than most corner markets, so that is good. Whole Foods is about a mile away and the prices are about the same, which means this corner market is as expensive as Whole Foods.

This place is great! When I couldnt find what I was looking for, not wearing glasses because they fog up with a mask on, a very friendly store representative stopped what he was doing, and led me directly to the item. A bit later, I asked a different store representative for assistance, and they too dropped what they were doing and cheerfully led the way. A wonderful shopping experience. Highly recommend!

I am consistently misgendered at Kiva. Today I tried to correct a worker and I feel humiliated. But this one star is not just about today.

Great local grocery store. They carry a lot of local products, as well as niche health conscious or natural oriented foods. Pricey compared to places like Safeway/Walmart, but the cost is definitely worth the product

Ive been going here since I was a child and Ill continue to go here until the day it disappears. The food is all very organic, beautiful, and unique. The foods are majority local and fresh as well. My favorite is the dolmas and Pizza Rolls (although I havent seen the latter since the pandemic began).

Its the only place Ive found to get nutritional yeast so far but the last time I was there the cashier was not friendly.

They have some of the best local hippie food and produce around.

Staff is knowledgeable! And so easy going. Great selection of coffee, teas, herbs, produce. The deli has great sandwiches & soups. Ive been shopping at Kiva for over 40 years.

I have been shopping at the Kiva for at least ten years. The crew has changed, people I adore have come and gone, but the quality remains. Whoever does the hiring knows whats up. Most of the people I know and love have worked there. I feel extremely fortunate to have the Kiva to shop at. Not to mention the items at the deli are supreme. The sandwich and salad chefs are the best imo. I always say I would starve without my kiva. And the best Borgia in town. No question. Id say keep it up Kiva!, But the shop doesnt know anything but quality.

The store does not honor medical exemptions for not wearing a mask. I am going to post a picture of the lady that physically pushed me out of the store. So if you are medically handicapped this is not the place to spend your money.

Kiva has grown on me. I disliked it for the longest time but when I started working downtown I found out about their made to order sandwiches and soup. Ive now gone in twice this week because the soup and sandwiches are so delicious.Kiva stocks some hard to find food items but I dont recommend coming here to do all your shopping. If youre looking for a few specific items to spice up a fancy meal, Kiva is a nice spot to stop. If youre looking to grab a quick sandwich and some soup you wont be disappointed. Unless you dislike waiting a few minutes (lunch can get pretty busy with people ordering sandwiches).

The Kiva has some of the best customer service in grocery. Their staff are always being helpful and doing nice things for you. They also have some really delicious deli food. The sesame noodles are one of my favorites. #kivarocks

Kiva is a small downtown Health Food store that is the only one of its kind within walking distance of the Eugene Library. There is a surprising amount of variety and high quality for such a small place. And the staff are more friendly and personable than the average shop.

This is absolutely my favorite grocery store! The produce quality is wonderful! The people are awesome. I Love the magnets, the greeting cards, the books, the ceramic mugs, little finger puppets, essential oils, ear candles, shampoo & conditioner, gosh, they have a lot of great stuff!! Wish they had more of Synergy Kombucha though. They only had one flavor when I was there last.

Great organic produce and groceries. During the pandemic they are open 10 AM to 6 PM. They are also offering deliveries, as well as curbside service. Convenient downtown location.

This is a great little market and the staff is very friendly and informative. Their prices are fairly high but their selection is pretty good and they keep a lot of things on hand.overall Im very happy with the product I purchased there and I would return when Im in the area.

Local grocery forever

Comfy little downtown health food market. Good deli, great coffee, awesome selection of cheeses and breads. They also make a decent sandwich and have local donuts for sale. I especially enjoy buying from their bulk section- anything from seasonings to honey, hot chocolate, coffee beans. You name it they have it in bulk ;). Theres a little bit of everything in this store. They have a dairy section and a produce section as well.

Amazing variety for a relatively small space. Well stocked and well curated. Best cheese selection Ive come across in Eugene. And the deli sandwiches are premium quality at a reasonable price. Nice assortment of loose leaf teas and bulk spices. Classic Eugene vibes, highly recommended

Great little market downtown. Lots of organic and vegan options. Local pastries. Dynamite deli but its super popular so have patience but definitely worth the wait. Cute little book nook too.

Great healthy, organic selection. Best hidden secret:The deli in the back creates made to your order sandwiches that makes you wonder how you didnt know about this place before. To try: roast beef with cream cheese, avocado and havarti cheese. Mmmm!

Lovely market with an excellent selection of wine, cheese, meats, fresh produce, and an extensive bulk area. One of the rare places you can buy Market Spice orange-black tea, which is a total bargain here.

I love coming to this store. The chefs in the kitchen have it DOWN. Im always interested in what they do with kale or beets and the cashew curry chicken is insane. Be picky with the produce for the freshest, but good finds overall. Sweet people, nice books and fun novelties.

Majority of the time going to Kiva is a very unpleasant time. The staff are very unprofessional and discourteous to customers of various ages. Despite having to deal with unfortunate events around their location, the staff should be reprimanded for their unprofessional actions towards paying customers. Walking into the store and watching the cashiers just stand there staring at you with NO casual introduction is a first step to bad customer service. Th deli counter is the worst! 2 year orders a sandwich and the same person who took the order looked at the child and places the order out of reach. Staffing replies consistently to customers questions about the food with a sour attitudes. The Sandwiches that are made are often dry and staff that make them have refused to accommodate the special orders correctly.

This store reminds me of a local natural foods store that was in my area where I used to live (it has since closed), and stepping foot into the Kiva reminded me of that store, only bigger and with more stuff, like a deli and a produce section. One wouldnt expect to find this type of store downtown. For a small store, its impressive. They have a little of everything. When I have more time, Ill have to be back.

Great stuff if you dont care what anything costs. Stopped in for a 10 item soup recipe and gave up after half my list put us over $50. Cold and unwelcoming vibe for such an old fashioned market. Big $$$ date night treats and cheeses. Guess Ill take my family back to Whole Foods?

Im always amazed by the beautiful produce here. The prices are super reasonable, the quality of the products are high-end. The sandwich shop in the back is stellar with great vegan options! Its always just fun to look in here because theres so many things jammed into a tiny place. You will literally find just about anything you need here.

I enjoy coming to this shop because the customer service is awesome. They also have really good produce.

Great location right across from the Eugene bus station. Prices arent horrible the selection is alright.
