The shop is under new ownership, and unfortunately they are not going to honor a commitment the former owners made to me. Will likely need to get some counsel and nobody will end up happy.

Amazing work. Very nice and honest about the work being done. Said a few weeks and it was done in 3 weeks to the day. Answered all questions I had even the stupid ones.

They do horrible work, they have messed up countless block without reimbursing any of the customers, have completely destroyed me and my buddies 2j block and many of my friends blocks. DO NOT GO HERE let there business die along with there horrific machine work and business practices.

They installed the pistons BACKWARDS in my buddys K20 shortblock, in the process ruining not only the ARP studs but also locking up the motor, which wont even turn over by hand.when confronted with the issue, they refused to provide a refund for either parts or labor and took NO responsibility for their mistake.stay far clear from this hackjob shop

The staff is knowledgeable and endlessly patient when I have any questions. If you need automotive machine work,do yourself a favor and go see Carl at Southworth.

I have been a devoted customer for 25 years and my dad always used Southworth as well. They have always done a great job on all my stuff. They also have engine parts and gasket sets for very good prices. I have known many people that made the mistake of going to Caldwells in Springfield and many can tell you- Jeff, is an a**hole. Go ro Southworth and get the expertise on your build whether its surfacing a flywheel or a race built big block for a dragster. A+++++!

What a joke. After a week of my parts being at the shop I had to call in to find out they havent done anything and just decided not to call me and let me know they couldnt do the work. Super dissapointed since so many people had good things to say. I on the other hand have nothing good to say about my expeiance with Southworth.

DO NOT GO HERE! They will not stand behind their work and will destroy your motor. I purchased a motor from these guys about 3 years ago and today I am having it rebuilt again. Had to pull the heads because it smoked and they said it was an intake gasket even though I had it replaced 3 times and then they said it was the carb. Today I found out they use cheap thin guides that leak and the seals were too big. When I pulled the heads the side that didnt smoke had the reference/guide pin to make sure the head is aligned properly slightly crush between the block and head causing an oil leak I noticed but, couldnt find. The heads are so bad Im thinking Im just going to pull the whole thing and have it done again. Oh yeah absolutely do not trust their mechanic they send you too! He will break things on your rig to make you come back or mess up a job and then try to charge you twice to fix it right! Rip off city!
