Major Market has THE best Meats, Fish, Produce, and Delicatessen in North County! Their selection of goods, including imported preserved foods is formidable. The Bakery has a beautiful and delicious variety of pies, tarts, breads, and pastries. Always a pleasure to shop there....they stand behind their products 100%. Employees are helpful, knowledgeable and kind. A real pleasure to shop there --- I buy from them at least twice a week. Dont forget to visit their cold soda aisle..the variety of nonalcoholic drinks is fun to browse. My favorite soda is Dang Butterscotch Root Beer.

Stopped in for a couple fresh sandwiches. Didnt disappoint! Ham, turkey, salami and other cold cuts are top quality. The choices of sandwiches on the specialty menu offer excellent value and selection. The bread used was from their own bakery and was still warm.The staff was patient with our order and attentive. Will be back for more...

I was definitely profiled by the cashier. There were other patrons in the store, wearing backpacks but I was asked leave mine at the customer service counter because of shoplifting issues.

Major Market is a place I go to find unique, hard to find items. Like hot cross buns for Easter that I couldnt find anywhere else. They have a bakery counter with cakes, tarts and gourmet items. The deli is really good too. They may not have all of the things the big names have but thats okay. It feels like your neighborhood grocery.

It is pricy but each item I have ever bought at Major Market is great quality. Their meat and seafood selection is amazing, today I bought some fresh ahi tuna that was out of this world and just caught this morning! The gentleman helping us at the seafood section was very knowledgeable and gave us some recommendations as well. A couple of my favorite items are their fresh fruit tarts and their tri-trip sandwiches available on the weekend.

Love our local grocery store. Old school grocery with old school values...Seems like they treat their employees right, when you treat your employees with value, they value the customer. Thats how easy it is...

Their selection of items is truly inspiring, and the people that work there are super nice and helpful. But Major Markettends to be pricey thats why I only go there when Im looking for a specialty item. Today it was fresh halibut, which was reasonably priced.

Ive only been to this store one time. I was looking for a specific type of hand soap because I had just gotten a tattoo done and couldnt find Dial Gold anywhere and I wanted to take the tape off of it so I could show my friends the tattoo. I had looked everywhere in town, and couldnt find it. Didnt find it here unfortunately but decided to buy some gloves since I hadnt seen those around much either.Cashier was super friendly, interested in my life. Shocking, isnt it, a cashier who cares in 2020? He asked about my tattoos and even gave a few suggestions for alternative products to look into. Very nice person. I felt like I had made a friend.Even though we will never meet again, cashier lad, thanks for being awesome. I probably wont be back, but every time I pass Major Market on my way home from work Ill think about you and the great experience I had here.

Had lunch at the deli. The young blond girl something with a K who made my sandwich, she really took her time and made it with elegance. So eating it tasted that much more delightful. I will return. Thank you Major Market, for having such great taste in ur employees, along with the sandwiches.

Major Market is located in the Felicita Town Center at the South end of Escondido off Centre City Parkway.Major Market has a really good bakery. I really like their fresh bread. The Meat Department often has really good deals, and the quality is great.One of the things we like about Major Market is when they set up a tent in the front of the store and bar b que. The food is delicious and well priced.

Good range of international products. Fresh deli, fresh seafood are well stocked. Bakery have above average selection. Vegetables are fresh and again a large selection to choose from. Local produce is often featured. Staff are very helpful. Even though this market is often packed, the try to have all the registers open to speed you through the checkout process. Minus one star for crowded and busy parking lot. I believe the parking lot is too small to cope with the popularity of all the stores.

Id give it a 5 if they kept the McConnell ice cream toasted coconut with choc & almonds stocked. Otherwise great store esp Sunday grilled rib eye sandwiches. Picked up 2 for dinner & we shared one, took meat out & toasted bread in oven, made brussell sprouts & salad & have left overs for tomorrow, it was great!

Major Market used to be such a fun super market with a good choice of European specialities. One year after the market changed owners, the new owners are removing the best part of the store, but the prices remain high dispite it no longer being a specialty store. Several employees even implied their confusion about the drastic changes.

Major market is awesome. Been coming here since this location opened in Escondido. If you have not had a sandwich from the deli or some of the bbq on the weekend you are missing out.

Customer service is stellar. Locally owned. Store is always clean and well stocked. Beautiful produce, in store butcher, impressive wine and beer selection. Coffee bar, deli, hot foods, sushi. Floral department. On the weekends, there is a barbecue in the parking lot. Dont miss the semi annual lobster fest.

Major Market has been my favorite store during the quarantine, serving up excellent pre-made pizza, quesadillas and other great foods. The people who work here are genuinely nice and care about us customers. So much better than the chain stores. Their bakery is excellent and they have a great selection of craft sodas. During this time of covid-19, it has been such a pleasure to shop at Major Market.

There is a nice selection of hard to find or unique items here. Great quality meat. The florist and bakery inside are also wonderful and very fairly priced. Customer service is usually great as well.

AVOID THIS STORE!! You can use the bathroom at Target, Walmart, Ralphs, and Costco, but not this store. Obviously all of the other stores have a SUPER SECRET as to why you can go to the bathroom there but the owners of Major Market never got in on it. You can walk all through the store and touch anything you want-- even the fruit--- but thou shalt not toucheth thine restroom facilities. When shopping--- just hold it until you can get home 20 minutes later--- yeah-- thats the story! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck! Besides that the prices are outrageously high and not worth it--- you can shop at Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Albertsons, and Vons and get exactly the same items for a huge savings! Theres a reason why they call it MAJOR MARKUP!!!

Love that Major Market is close to my home. The hot food and bakery/coffee court always has such wonderful items. They have a wonderful beer and wine section. Their selection of fresh meats is always great and they have a wonderful assortment of seafood as well. They have unique sodas and a floral section that offers delivery and an international foods section thats currently in the front of the store that I have to stop off at everytime I go there. They also have a selection of frozen exotic meats such as kangaroo. Its a wonderful gourmet market in North County.

This is the gold standard for grocery stores. It has it all. An amazing butcher department, fresh seafood, local produce, in house bakery, deli, a great kitchen team with ready to eat foods, and everything else normal grocery stores have. Customer service is always spot on as well.

Slightly more expensive than lot of other stores we been to. For example . I usually get a Pedialyte at commissary for $3.99 they sell same pedialyte for $6.99. High prices on lot of other items. But I like the store. It was clean. 3.5 stars.

They have a very good in-house meat department, extensive and fresh ready made meals for dinner or lunch including Italian, Mexican, comfort food. Nice selection of wine and fruit and vegetables. They also have area to sit and have coffee and baked goods.The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 Stars is that the prices for regular grocery store items are a little high.

This is one of those gourmet grocers masquerading as a neighborhood market. One of the best places I know to find upscale and imported groceries. Their cinnamon streusel coffee cake is the bomb! Pair it warm with some really good hot coffee, and youve got one of the best football Sunday breakfasts around.😉

Major Market has a terrific selection of hard to find gourmet & every day items. Theres always a fabulous selection of international items from Britain, Sweden, Germany etc + every day American brands. Excellent selection of cheeses & meats, choose from a selection of prosciutto to be fresh cut. While prices on some fresh items seem higher, I have found I get my moneys worth in quality. Also stocks pet products, basic hardware, and household items.

Love to shop here! But dont come in if youre on a budget! I like to browse and pick up unusual gourmet items for our Airbnb welcome basket. They have some great local items - fun to introduce visitors to what our area has to offer! Anytime we have a special family event, I always order my meat from Major Market. Cant do it for everyday, but for special occasions, when it just has to be wonderful, they will never disappoint!

The Chairmans Reserve Top Sirloin steak was one of best steaks I have had in years. Has good age, flavor and tenderness. Not sure how they sell it for $4.77, but Major Market has created a fan in me.

The manager, John is amazing!! Mario , the chef is also. Rene and Richard and the guy in coffee, and the younger man in the deli are fantastic. However the head of the bakery wont look at me at all. She offered me a great new position a few years back, treated me so special. Then turned on me for no reason and didnt let me have the job. Ever since then, she hangs her head and will not look at me, even if I have to leave with no service. Its very uncomfortable. My checker today was so nice, he made up for it. Gabriel is his name. I will look for him from now on!!

Dont get helped by Robin. Shes the worst. She decided before she helped me check out my wic items she was gonna help a person she knows personally out first so basically told the guy it was okay. When it came to the 2 items I needed for my daughter I was told it came out to be too much and I could only get one size or the other, when I know she has helped me before with this. I simply walked away went and got my stuff else where with no problem in getting my items

I had a basic question to ask in produce. Two different employees at the register called over the radio a total of 4x for customer service in produce. I waited 10-15 minutes total (3-5 minutes between each call for customer service) and nobody came. Will not be returning
