Smaller local hardware store. Helpful and knowledgeable staff but where this place really shines is that it has a great lumber yard. Great to get longer boards locally so dont have to drive long distances to get it home.

Used to love shopping at B&G when Pete was the owner. It has declined drastically since the new ownership. A little while back, I overheard one of the staff members (a younger girl with dark hair) being rude to a customer. She wasnt very friendly or welcoming when I was waiting to be checked out either.

Love shoppimg at stores like this. So much better then a big box store.

The staff at B&G Lumber are ALWAYS helpful, they do their best to get you what your looking for and if your not sure exactly what you need they make suggestions that are helpful as well. While many have posted about masks, its their right as U.S. citizens to not wear a mask under the U.S. constitution, not Gov. Wolfs fear based executive order that has cause MANY small businesses to close while chain store to remain open. I stand for our country that many have given the ultimate price to protect, dont let the over reaching far left take away our rights.

They deserve more stars. But when NONE of the staff is wearing masks behind the checkout desk really makes me wonder how much they care about customers. I guess it’s rude of me to assume that all 5 people didn’t have health conditions that keep them from safely wearing a face covering. And I guess I’m paranoid that the person completing my sale kept asking me “did you say something, oh I thought you did” when obviously nothing was said. I felt mocked for wearing my mask. Back to the big box store...

My partner says its the only place he goes to buy screws. I like to check if they have any random paints on sale to inspire new projects.

I cant say enough about B&G Lumber. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. As a woman, I am pleased that I am not dismissed. They have helped me all sorts of projects over the years and are willing to help me think through a project, cut materials to size and have even delivered. The staff has been there for years and know their customers. There is a family feel.

Good service even if selection isnt the best. Unfortunately I wont be shopping here any more after hearing the owner describe those with differing political views from his as disgusting. From across the store I could hear him complaining that a nominee for the supreme court has had his life been destroyed by disgusting... democrats. I respect his freedom to believe differently from others but using your place of business to impugn the integrity of those who may disagree with his views is not good business. Would anyone feel welcomed in an environment such as this? Customers? Employees? I, for one, will take my business elsewhere...PS: To Petes credit, he did email me. While no apology was offered, I respect that he was willing to reach out to explain his position on what I experienced.

Found what we needed.

The front desk was very courteous when I returned lumber and they gladly substituted what I wanted. Harry and the other guys in the shop were very nice and helpful and went above and beyond to find good 2x10s for a table I was going to build. They also cut it to size for me. Highly recommend!

NONE of the staff wear masks!!! They clearly do not care about the health and safety of this community. Perhaps they don’t comprehend masks are for the safety of others, not themselves. Shameful.

These folks are the best. Know why I like local businesses? Because I can go in to B&G Lumber, buy a metal fence post spike, and theyll sell me the 4 screws I need for $.23@, and have me go out and ask Harry at the mill for a 4x4 wooden block so I can hammer it in. Harry cuts me a foot-long block of scrap, no charge. Try and get that done at Home Depot.

Friendly and very helpful. Their products are great quality as they keep them under roof. Harry, their yard boss, is tops. Highly recommended over big box stores....no comparison.

The store is the best hardware store around and a delight to visit. You dont have to walk a mile to find what you need, and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Pete was even willing to stay an evening to mill some transitions for me today. Great hardware and lumber store!! The people there are super helpful and knowledgeable! Thre stote itself is considerably smaller than lowes or home depot. They dont have everything the big stores do, but a good, varied selection nonetheless.
