I have been bringing my two sons to Mikey for over five years . I have always been on time and never cancelled any appointments, while he has cancelled on me last minute multiple times . So last minute that I have actually been sitting in his shop. He’s been late numerous times. Despite this I continued to book with him and tip him. Very well. My son was recently booked with him . He had to stay after school to make up a test and wouldn’t be able to make his appointment on time , the first time in five years. I immediately contacted Mikey asking for a different time OR day. He insisted on charging me a cancellation penalty and was completely inflexible and rude. When I complained I was told to find a new barber. Well I thank you for your advice! I have in fact found a wonderful new, talented and professional barber! I have zero tolerance for unprofessional behavior when it comes to paying for services rendered. I understand that MLA is a teaching academy and I strongly suggest that Mikey take or repeat course 101. Professional client relations and learn how to interact appropriately with loyal and paying customers .Moving on .. Swan

I been coming here and always get a fresh cut. But this time some girl who was sitting at the counter cut my hair because everyone else was busy. She ignored everything I said and did what she wanted while I was turned away from the mirror so I couldn’t even see. She nicked my hair in the back multiple times making permanent lines and did the whole haircut in under 15 minutes. Walked out with the complete opposite of what I asked for. Looks like I’ll be wearing a hat for the next 2 months

I have been taking my son here for the past year and he is only 3 years old. No matter who cuts his hair the staff here is ALWAYS so patient and understanding with my little guy. The haircuts are always what I ask for and done professionally. The last time I went my son was throwing a complete tantrum and David was very patient with him. This put me at ease as a parent and most important my son! I love this place and highly recommend it.

I’ve Waited for 1 hour and this is not the first time, so I learned my lesson. I am Never going back ever again Took my $$$$$$ elsewhere. You should wait one hour for a doctor only. This is crazy. If I was not giving a tip I understand but that is not the case here. When I worked at restaurant the more happy and fast customers more $$$$$ at the End of the day. So I don’t get it.

Bounced around from barber to barber all over the New Haven area. None of them gave me a fade good as Jay from MLB! And that includes places twice as expensive! This location was clean, professional, and modern. Jay was very friendly to talk to, and knew exactly what to do after a brief explanation of what I wanted. Everything from the professionalism to the quality of the cut to the price is unprecedented here. 5/5 stars, will definitely be coming back!

Ive been getting my haircut from Josh since last summer. Never in my life have I been more pleased with a haircut. Josh nails every single detail of my cut, every single time! He handles the consultation perfectly and is overall one of the best barbers out there! Nothing but astounding skill with this gentleman! More than pleased and will always get my haircut by him!

Most of the Barbers are dope here! Was a faithful customer until I sat there for almost an hour a few times when my sons barber wasn’t there. Customer service isn’t the best.Sat there waiting for 45-min to an hour again today while other customers were helped bc my sons barber wasn’t there. Ended up leaving . Too many other dope barbers on State and Grand Ave to be treated that way. Took my money elsewhere.

We bring both our Boys to Stevo all the time. Our kids are age 3 and 6 and he us very patient with them and professional. Stevo does a great job on our kids. The shop is very clean and professional. Great Shop.

The person that cut my hair was hella disrespectful and unprofessional taking a break every thirty seconds what a 30 minutes haircut took twice as much. I asked for a simple haircut and he ended up trying to line up my beard and eyebrows by himself without asking and expected more money when I didn’t even ask him to do anything besides the haircut and was disappointed when i gave him money for what I asked for ONE STAR

West ha en location is great... but I went to east haven location... when I walked in a barber said are you here for someone specific I said no and he walked away told another barber to take me when he finished up the person he had.... So i waited 40 mins and I guess this barbers regular came in and was like you open right now??? so the barber was like ya give me a min... So I asked the guy right next to him if he could cut me and he was like nah Im done for the day smh... So all and all I still have no hair cut....

Sat down 5:11 p.m. as a walk-in. Two other people in the span of 30 minutes who were also walk-ins got picked before me, no questions asked. So im at the hour mark without getting picked up, other walkins come and go. The guy who says he gots me next gets a walk-in, cool. Next guy comes up and asks me if I can wait 5 minutes. Not a good experience, I had to walk-out afterwards. I like the cuts they give but they need to work on customer service.

I walked into MLB looking like Carrot Top on a bad day... no matter where I turned prior, all they did was run my hair with a lawnmower; making me look like a total dweeb. I walk into MLB in East Haven and I meet one of the coolest, freshest, most down to earth guys you can ever meet! That man was my barber and friend, Giovanni Rivera. G is the most welcoming guy, you can text him whenever you want without feeling weird. Hes the type of guy you can turn to for help too! If you want a free therapy session but also want to walk out looking as handsome as Danny Zucko from Grease, hes your man. Not only does he clean your top up like hes the real Paul Mitchell, but he also cleans up your facial hair as well. I AM NOT PLAYING WHEN I TELL YOU: This man had my girl drooling over how icy I looked. I hit up the Branford Fest that same day he cut my hair and I swear to God I felt like a celebrity. The man does magic. I feel as if I should owe him over $100 just to have his hands near my hair let alone cut it. I STRONGLY recommend seeing him if you happen to stop in. Not only will you have fresh hair for life, but youll make a good friend along with it. Whats better than that? Two Giovanni Riveras... thats it.

ASK FOR JIGGY !!!When you get a cut you always have this lil doubt if its gonna come out correct or not. With JIGGY I never worry or doubt him. He always asks what your style is and suggests something else for the better. Even when hes just about done, he triple checks for any clean ups. I like that hes about attention to detail and styles you up fresh ready to go. I will definitely come back to MLB and will refer more people in their direction.

I used to go to the minor leagues barber shop. I realized I messed up after I tried Major League Barber. Justin Jiggy laced me up with the tightest skin fades my tinder matches increased by %1000 percent. My life changed.
