Nice and centrally located coffee shop. Not a huge selection of bakery items but all tasty. I had an Americano and it tasted great. Nice staff. Recommended.

Cute place with baked goods ,bagels, teas,and other treats. I had latte and my husband got a vanilla biscotti. This is located in a quaint college Town. Nice area to hang out.

Wow! Great customer service & friendly staff - shoutout to Meg & Madison that make my coffee every morning & are so sweet. I’m not a morning person but these girls are energized & personable! I walk out every morning with my coffee in hand & a big smile!

Not the best coffee in the town. I ordered a latte couple of times, and it doesnt taste that good. Also, they dont maintain their opening hours posted on Google map.

Wonderful place to get a great cup of coffee while you study or socialize. The lattes are excellent. Plus, the big windows in the front provide a nice vantage point to people watch.

My friend and I ordered a Mocha and Cafe au Lait. Both were watery and the coffee tasted old. I loved coming to here and the Portsmouth location 10 years ago for great coffee. Since then, the Portsmouth location is gone and this location appears to have lessened in quality.

The drinks are pretty good, however I prefer their baked goods.

Good atmosphere and good coffee. Mask compliance isnt looking too great lately and I worry about vectors of exposure when staff prepare orders, move about the bar, and interact with staff and customers without masks. I look forward to patronizing BnG again after the pandemic.

Definitely a Durham staple. I love going here. The blended coffees are my favorite, and they make great pastries/cookies. Plus they roast their own coffee so my family always gets our coffee beans from here.

Good place to study or hang out with people. The seating became a bit uncomfortable but nice atmosphere.

They roast their own beans and actually do it well. Their espresso roast is the rare one that isnt burnt. The employees actually make a good cappuccino. This place is what most small coffee shops want to be.

My favorite coffee shop in Durham -- I become an iced coffee addict in the summer, and Breaking New Grounds is a great place to get my coffee fix (dont worry -- they also have decaf iced coffee, so you can stay cool without bouncing off the walls).Locally owned, fair prices, great coffee, delicious bagels, vegan baked goods, friendly staff, name that involves a pun -- what more could you ask for?Be aware that you WILL run into someone you know there -- its just that kind of place ❤️.

BNG is a staple of UNH. Going here is a must for anyone looking for a good coffee or Tea as they visit UNH

Great local chain with great coffee roasted in house. Nice patio seating for summer and cozy indoor seating for winter. Also have nice selection of sweets.

Im so happy that the Breaking New Grounds location in Durham, NH is still open! I was so sad when the location in downtown Portsmouth, NH closed. BNG has the best coffee in NH. I tried the bunny hop latte which was a coconut and chocolate latte and it was delicious!

Service was warm coffee was not very warm.

The barrista made a spectacular almond milk latte... florished with some latte art...which is definitely hard to do with almond milk. This place is not just another coffee shop... Theyre a cafe staffed with coffee professionals. Skip dunkins, go here if you can!

BNG is always our favorite! Delicious drinks every time. We also used to get the coffee beans for birthdays or Christmas, but have gotten so spoiled by how good they are we wont even buy coffee anywhere else anymore!! ☕

I gave bng a 4star review last year because despite loving the coffee, the place had a terrible broken couch and a gross bathroom. No longer! Bathroom was renovated and looks awesome. Coffee is still amazing. New couch makes me want to move in. Great local place; part of the UNH experience.

Staff were lovely and the coffee was great. They also sell aluminium reusable straws which as an environmentally conscious customer I was pleased to see.

Everyone loves BNG but its always a hit or miss with the baristas. Sometimes the customer service is great, sometimes theyll burn your bagel to a lump of coal and look at you like deal with it, loser.
