OMG. What an experience. Just went there today. From the outside this place looks like a rundown trailer I would never dare to enter. But I did and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of my life. Place looks like time has stood still for the past 50 years and I am pretty sure the benches and barstools are about that old (if not older). Food was very good, great portions, reasonably priced. The one sole worker in that establishment was a gem of a human - personable, easy going, engaging and just completely awesome. Other patrons added to the ambiance. We heard and shared amazing stories and left feeling like we just experienced something magical. I cannot recommend this place enough.
I had a fantastic in this restaurant. We loved the awesome environment and the meals. The staff are super affable. I’m glad we eventually managed to try this place.

PROS: Keeping in mind its the oldest diner in NJ the inside looked very nostalgic. It had a lot of memorabilia dating back over the decades ranging from sports to the military. The menu was extensive with great prices and the food tasted great! You can either sit at a table or talk to the very charming owner whos heavily involved in the community.CONS: The place is small and the tables werent that clean. The chairs are ripped up and I didnt see a bathroom. Theyre only open till 3pm as well.OVERALL: This is a great place to eat when you want to grab a quick bite to eat. I suggest the burger for lunch and have a nice chat with the owner cause hes the reason for why the diner is very community oriented

Dont judge this book by its cover, or you will surely miss out. The oldest diner in Bergen County. One of the oldest diners in N.J. Owned and operated by Lou and his family. Not only a terrific Chef, but a great historian, who has lived and breathed one of the most controversial subjects in history. From the homemade salsa for my omelette, to his own French toast recipe, you will enjoy.
I love this place. The food is good. But this place brings me back to my child hood when I use to go to a diner in fairlawn New Jersey with my father. In this diner just like the one I went to back in the day, no kitchen, everything is cooked on the grill behind the counter. Its small but fun to be in. Lots of old pictures of days gone by. Friendly atmosphere and it is the oldest dinner in Jersey. Give it a try I think youll like it.

The owner of this little hole in the wall diner is extremely friendly and goes out of his way to make sure your dining experience is amazing. Is this place dated.....yes, but that is part of what give this place its charm. His menu is right on target and if you dont see something you want, you can simply ask if something can be made; which 9 times out of 10 he can. While youre eating, he holds conversation with you and will always try to joke with you. Theres not 1 bad thing I can say about this place and I will definitely be a regular here. Overall a 4.9 out of 5.

Very nice owner so it was hard to complain. Terrible food. I have to be honest. I felt the cheese in my omelette was spoiled. Greasy.Unsanitary conditions. No gloves were worn in the cooking area. Raw hamburger meat was handled with no hand washing afterwards. I couldnt eat a thing.The customers there were grossly obese and or looked unhealthy in general.I realize small, cozy, diners are hard to come by these days. But this really wont do at all. A total waste of money.
