Best cappuccino, reasonably priced with charming service. Quaint chic nestled in the eclectic quarters (1413 Farmer St, Detroit, MI 48226) of off the beaten path. Gotta venture out of common to embrace the opportunities of change. Treat yourself, give them a visit.

The Grand Rapids transplant is a must if you like good espresso or a well made cup of coffee. This location has both an outdoor ordering window with outdoor seating as well as indoor. Sometimes there is live music in the alley and you are surrounded by stores and restaurants/bars in the hippest part of downtown.

Gotta give them props for introducing me to something brand new. 😃 I ordered a Its Always Sunny in Detroit which is all the things: coffee, mango lassi, and milk. Honestly, they had me at Inspired by a popular Indian drink. I ✨inhaled✨ that drink. I did get the chance to taste and savor the cardamom though, so it wasnt all for naught. It goes without saying that its in one of the coolest areas in the city, surrounded by beautiful murals. Next time I go, Ill be sure to slow down and have a snack or two as well.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the country. The shop itself is located in a really cool little alley. But what differentiates Madcap is their coffee! I live in Los Angeles and can’t get enough of it. So when I’m not able to make it to Detroit, I’ve been ordering their coffee and getting it shipped to California. Looking forward to making my way back to Detroit to be able to visit in person!Love that they actually know how to make a cortado.

There are very few seats, really its a stool bolted to the floor. Im 5 feet even and my feet were about 4 inches from the floor. It was cool to finish my drink, but not a long term place. Everything else is stand up with the purse hooks underneath. Nice lighting with minimalistic decor and fun music. The cafe mocha was GREAT! Very chocolatey with real chocolate! Tried medium roast with room and added oatmilk, there are no other milk alternatives. Oat milk is somewhat creamy, in the coffee itself it was good. I had the seasonal coffee with Strawberry notes and enjoyed it, pic with the spoon below. Went back the next day and ordered the Marshmallow tea and LOVED it. Smooth and very flavorful. Definitely returning.

Modern minimalist design. Great space to meet up with friends and go out into the city. I enjoy the coffee brewing methods, with nitro cold brew, pour over, and espresso based drinks, the baristas are well trained and the wait is minimal. Product can be a little more expensive, which is to be expected. Yet it is pretty average pricing for a good coffee shop. Nice mural on the street provides photo opportunities!

5 star Coffee.. 1 star ding for having a sign asking the non-vaccinated to mask up. 😷 um, no. Companies are stepping outside of the contexts that they serve. Make me coffee, do not ask me to do things that are not in your authority to police, your ability to identify, or your place to even suggest. Make coffee, collect money, repeat. Its funny anyone thinks those who wish to not take the experimental rNa treatment would identify themselves by wearing a mask.. The people who dont Vax, dont fear the virus, and typically never masked.. heeellllloooo.. But the coffee was amazing.

This was a fantastic coffee shop vibe! There isnt a lot of seating available though. The one downside is that the only dairy free milk they had was oats. Although, it says gluten free label on the menu all oats need to be certified gluten free to be suitable for those with celiac disease. Another improvement they could have is with their pastries.I loved trying the different coffee flights. It was delicious.

The barista station is against a wall that opens outside providing a walk up bar outside the coffee shop so you can easily do and user regardless if whether inside or outside. The coffee was delicious and well prepared and the barista was friendly an assistful in the ordering process. I really like it. I’ve been buying madcap coffee for some time and it’s nice that there’s a coffee shop in Detroit now. They have a great selection of coffees and specialty drinks. I got an oat milk cappuccino, which is refreshing because oat milk usually isn’t on list for most places. It was really well made.I do have to note I had to ask again to get an oat milk cappuccino, the first one they made was whole milk, even though the order was for oat milk. The staff was very friendly and understanding and remade it immediately. They let my fiancée keep the mistakenly made one.I really like the place, would recommend it to anyone. The coffee is great and it’s a super simple place inside that’s focused on plain good coffee.

This is such a great, modern coffee shop that know what it is doing. I love the double counter design which allows it to serve simultaneously inside and out. The people are great and are very knowledgeable. I personally get the cortado all the time and it always is made to perfection! Another trendy coffee shop in downtown Detroit that only offers one size of a cold coffee beverage. For a coffee shop that doesn’t have comfortable long time seating and a small setting I would recommend that you broaden your horizons on iced beverages and larger to go sizes.
