Wish they still had indoor seating areas. Too many bugs and bees outside to eat peacefully. Also, latte with latte art on a paper cup felt sad 😔. But overall wasn’t bad. The almond croissant is amazing. I have never had a more delicious croissant in my life. The egg sandwich is also great!

Astro has good coffee, experienced barsitas, and a good selection of equipment/beans for home brewing. Really good egg sandwich, too. The outdoor seating area will sometimes have dogs in cute sweaters.

Best coffee ever, well made espresso drinks, all around great. If you buy beans you can get a free coffee and the beans are truly the greatest out there, highly highly highly recommend.

Astro’s temporary setup in the roastery is cozy and functional. Same great coffees, espresso drinks, and service as the flagship spot, plus Ochre is just next door. Nothing beats a flat white and an almond croissant. Lots of outdoor seating in Core City Park, and plenty of parking in the vicinity.

I have been a frequent customer since its inception in Corktown!I just wish that the owners and managers of Astro were not embracing Big Pharm’s approach to addressing the hysteria over Covid. This health crisis should be driving more people regard food choices as a method of protecting immunity and improving immune performance, rather than relying on the pharmaceutical option, with its premise on antisocial behavior and centrally mandated economic recession. These Big Pharm companies are, after all, the same nefarious players who poison our crops and pump our livestock with their artificial chemicals, which end up fouling our lands and waterways, and even the bodies of those who consume pharmaceutical-based food, which includes most Americans.I encourage the owners and managers of Astro to reconsider their support for this Big Business initiative that ultimately harms local, independent operations like Astro Coffee, while bolstering gargantuan chains such as Starbucks. I was visiting friends here from LA and found this spot. So, SO good. My cup of java was amazing. The atmosphere was calming and pretty. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this spot. When I come back I will for sure be going there again.

This was a cozy, picturesque cafe with locally sourced baked goods and a nice variety of coffee. We had the opportunity to enjoy a cappuccino (which many nearby patrons were also enjoying) and a scrumptious pecan sandie. We also tried a macchiato which unfortunately was not as strong of a contender as their cappuccino. A nice setting for quiet conversation or a good book.

Love Astro coffee! I ordered a skinny latte and a ginger molasses cookie- the cookie was fantastic! My boyfriend ordered a latte as well with an Anzac biscuit. He is originally from Australia so it makes him super happy to see there is a place making homemade Anzac! We were able to spend the afternoon drinking coffee and getting some work done on our laptop. Lovely little find in cork town!

Nice hipster coffee place, nice spot to hangout, rustic decor. Friendly service. Free wifi. Amazing coffee! What else do one want from a coffee place.So I got their regular latte which was little to the darker side but perfect for me. My friend got the mocha and she felt the same, little stronger so she had to add more sugar.. but I love it that way.They do have some selection of snacks. Muffins, coffee cakes and stuff. They have almond milk, white and brown sugar.They have pour over coffee.They do not have flavors for the coffee. Like hazelnut and stuff.The ambience is nice, nice sketches on the wall.The parking gets little little tricky. But I will go back do taste their other coffee selection when I am in the area.

Trendy place just off Michigan avenue. If you like specialty coffee this is a must visit location. They also have really good food and cakes (with a few healthy alternatives). Easy to find parking also around. I took a cortado that tasted very good. Coffee beans, gourmet chocolate and equipment can also be found here to purchase. Also great breakfast items :)

Very cute, cozy space right next to my still all-time favorite bar, Sugarhouse. So theres that, two reviews in one. I got an espresso, and while I expect my espresso to be bitter, this one was bitter, but also strangely sour. Now Im sure there are a lot of factors that affect the taste of an espresso, like the type of bean, the water, the temperature... I dont even know what Im talking about here, but Im guessing...so Im sure theres some reason for it. It just wasnt my personal preference. Ive gone a long time ago and had a latte and I think that was fine for me.

Special place in corktown. i always hope for places like these to visit and support. tasty drinks and they have small bites too. the cafe is gorgeous. ambiance is stunning. the espresso seems better than the pour over, my only hair to split.

This place always good and consistent!!! Everything Ive ever gotten from here was fresh and delicious!!! From pastries to salads and sandwiches, #YumI got the hot chocolate and a slice of Coco bread that was amazing!!!They are kind of slow, so if youre in a rush you might want to skip.

Do not judge a book in case the cover, the coffee is delicious, I prefer to experience the black coffee to appreciate the taste of coffee, the one in this place is delicious. I dont love white cups, I feel it is part of personalizing a place are your utensils including cups.

Astro is one of my favorite coffee spots in Detroit! The coffee is amazing, I love buying a bag of it and getting a free cup of coffee. The food selection never disappoints and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. It wont be as fast as a place that has had coffee sitting in a pot all day but once you taste a cup youll agree its worth a few extra minutes.

The artwork doesnt stop with their coffee, it sprawls across the walls and into the sound waves. It draws a quality crowd of people and embodies a presence that brings calm and clarity unlike most coffee shops. Its hard to put your finger on why the atmosphere is so tranquil. Could it be the view of the old train station, the kindness of the staff, the big wall of windows, or just everything together.

As I was drinking my Lemon Ginger tea, I heard several others who had just visited raving about the great cup of coffee they were drinking. One person said it was the best coffee she ever had. And yeah my tea was quite good.

I know this wont be popular..but I just dont get it. Seems popular takes a long time to get a coffee. If you want to experience downtown and a hip kinda please lace then this fits the bill. If you want a quick cup of coffee maybe not. As for the coffee itself I dont think its fair for me to say anything. I might have been able to make a better choice.

Music was a touch loud, but a great low key spot overall.

Friendly staff, just over $2 for a black coffee, not many places to sit but thats a good sign that the business is doing well. they dont seem to mind if you camp out either, which is nice. music is a little too loud, kind of like it wants to be a bar but serves coffee. so its more of a social setting than a study one (but still pleasant to be there)

This is a great coffee shop and a staple of Detroit, especially in Corktown. They have a great variety of coffee and a nice selection of baked goods. The atmosphere is very welcoming to anyone from any background. It is good for meeting friends or working away from the office. It can get crowded and space can get a little tight. They also sell very big bags of their beans if you feel like making your some a secondary shop. When visiting Corktown you should stop by!

My daughter and I went to Astro Coffee for the first time and it was a great experience. The music they played was great and the coffee mochas her and I got were fantastic. We definitely will be back again.

Dessert was nice and they liked my Dragons Wrath hot sauce. Its my former wifes recipe but Im in charge of the marketing and they can have my flyer for advertising when I get it done.

This place is clearly for a caffeine connoisseur and not for rookies like me that drink decaf. The vibe and decor were on point, but I wasnt feeling the staff at all. Both women seemed to be having a bad day or they have little patience for those less experienced in their art. I had a lot of questions and no one behind me in line, but the woman taking my order acted like she had better things to do. They accidentally gave me a caffeinated drink, but caught it before I sipped it. The customer service could be better, but again, perhaps this place is for a more experienced customer.

Coffee is fabulous and the almond scone was amazing! They also have a bevy of coffee making supplies if youre looking to do that too! Cant recommend it enough. Tasty brews!
