Warm, Efficient, and Really Considerate.My brakes were squealing so painfully every time I hit them. I came into Detroit Auto Repair Center #1 to find out what the problem was. I was seen immediately, with excellent customer service. After checking out my car, the engineer himself came out to explain to me my options. I felt very comfortable, as he even told me it was just a sound the brakes were making and it could still last me a few months if I could live with the noise, instead of convincing me to go with the most expensive option. They ordered the parts and I came in the next day to get it fixed in under an hour. The brakes look great, but more importantly, I can relax when pushing down on the pedal. I know, the next time I have an issue with my car, Ill be coming to Detroit Auto Repair Center #1 first.

Just moved to the area and was looking for a local shop to take my car. The guys got me in and fixed my loud exhaust in half a day. Price was extremely fair and they gave me some further repair recommendations to keep my car running great in the future. I will be using them again!

They fixed my wife Chevy Impala and was honest about what else was wrong with it and gave us a good deal. Better than all the competitors and the dealership with new part and warranty work. I just got the brakes and rotors on my Subaru done just the front. The competition told me 300 but they said 250 the dealership said 275. Man Im happy I went with Detroit Auto Repair Center. I have brought 2 cars to this repair shop an older GMC Sonoma truck, and my current 2014 Ford Escape. My Sonoma, was basically dead, they found the issue (electrical), and revived it in a day for me to use for the time being. They have worked on breaks for that car (and a host of other things), and have repaired my break lights, a windshield wiper, and splash guard, and are always speedy, and professional. I have basically always had a 24-36 hour repair time, which is extremely helpful since I work as a driver with my car. They also are very modern and convenient using a computer to log your issue/car repair, keeping a customer profile to log and stay-up-to date with car repairs. Additonal to that, they do have Google Pay for Wireless payments, which is generally helpful for security, and not carrying a physical card, as well as the current pandemic, where Covid is prevalent, especially in Michigan. Definitely recommend them, the Business definitely exemplifies its name.

I’m a real person I’m from Joy Rd and Wyo. this is a recommendable place for sure. Have gone twice and had good service both times.The second time was notable because I had bought a starter and another part (was told I needed them from a family mechanic). Family mechanic was charging a lot more for labor so I decided to go here. When I came in they said it wasn’t the starter and I kind of insisted that they still do it because I was told I needed it and the mechanic insisted back that it was not the problem. Got the car up and running for LESS THAN WHAT FAMILY MECHANIC was charging and was able to return the unused parts (didn’t need the starter after all, thank you again!.Long story short he could’ve played me and charged me a lot more because I was kind of asking for it. Both times I have gone ***SERVICE WAS FAST** as well

Detroit Auto Repair Center #1 should be the last place you take your vehicle needing work. I brought in my 2014 Acura RDX for a timing belt and water pump replacement (purely based off the service schedule), thinking I would save a few bucks. The service was completed, and everything seemed to run fine. 9 months later, my car quit on the highway with the check engine light flashing. I took it to a local shop thinking I would only need to replace a sensor (based off the code reading). The shop seemed to think it was more serious than the sensor, so they pulled the timing belt case off. They found that the timing belt had been chewed up, and since this is an interference engine there were most likely serious repercussions. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the washer holding the water pump on was installed backwards, causing it to protrude too far. The washer was slowly rubbing on the timing belt as the car was running, but not enough to show symptoms. I called Detroit Auto Repair Center #1 to explain the issue, and check about the warranty on the service. The owner refused to admit the shop installed the part wrong, and I am SOL since the warranty is only for six months. Sam (the owner) continues to claim the other shop broke the belt when they were pulling the case off. If you know anything about vehicles, you would understand that this is not remotely possible unless they took a saw to it (sarcasm intended). All in all I am very frustrated with this shop, because now I am having to replace my engine since I have bent valves, costing me $4,800. If you value your vehicle, and owners who stand behind their work, then please do not take your car to this shop.

Very good service. I was here for my brakes and I had my own parts. Front rotors were not fitting. He ordered the part immediately and helped with fixing it at the earliest. They charged me less and I am happy.

SAM SAM SAM, five starsI am a Bostonian who was taking a road trip from Boston to Chicago. By the time I passed Toledo the computer suggest me change the rare tire pads and have an oil change. I went to Sams place based on the google rating, and the service was beyond my expectation. I got all the services mentioned above done in a very timely manner (less than 2 hours), PLUS with a very decent and reasonable price. Highly recommend this place and if he opens a store in Boston I will definitely be his first customer.

I brought my vehicle there for a simple tune up which turned into a circus trip I paid $700.00 for that and other services that I supposedly needed done and still my vehicle ran worse than it did when I received it back I will never bring my vehicle back to that place and the bad part about it ,it took 3 weeks to get my vehicle back from them.

GREAT SERVICE!! I took my car in because it was overheated, Sam ordered a brand new thermostat and was finished within a couple of hours. He has fair prices as well. My radiator pipe also had a whole which he fixed for free. I definitely recommend going to him and his team for good quality work!

I’m very satisfied with the work Sam and his team did on my vehicle. I needed my passenger exterior mirror replaced and I notified him the day before and it was finish the next day before 3 pm. Very nice work for a low price. I will be back! I recommend you bring your vehicle in pretty early so that they can check it out and get you a resolution plan before the end of the day.

Called because my Ford Edge may need an engine build. It was a quick two minute conversation of...I dont do...I dont want to deal with....I couldnt even get out the possibilities of what it could be...caller simply stated what they dont want to do deal with ...sorry and hung up....of course you can choose what you want to deal with but from a customer service stand point....not the greatest.

Ignore ALL the negative comments. I needed a new water pump, brought my car up to his location and his team got started on it right away and finished the same day! His team was quick, efficient and very professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anybody. Other places wanted to charge $750 to fix my water pump he charged me $450. PLEASE go here I promise you wont be disappointed.

Detroit Auto repair took absolute care of my car.My mini was completely death with some engine issues, Sam (who is an angel) called me and told me what was wrong with the car and the recommended actions. 6 hours later I had my car running like new. Great same day service for brakes and rotors. About 90 minutes and I was out. Owner is a nice guy. I felt he was very honest. He gave me short term, and long term options depending on my budget. I appreciated that. I also called a few weeks later for a window repair and one of the workers referred me to their source and made sure I got his price not what the glass shop usually charges. This is my new go to car repair place.
