And then while handing money back I held my hand out to grab it he sets it on then table after my hand is still hanging there. I love this place. The staff is always super helpful and knows where everything is, feels very small town like. They have most everything I need for small to medium projects. They can be pretty busy sometimes but they stay calm and focused to the individual they’re helping. They can order things in pretty quickly as well of it’s not in store. They also have an insane variety of things in the store, from tools and hardware to plants and toys. Will definitely keep coming back.

The services department was hard to communicate with due to the attendants hearing. Unable to assist and was told no hardware store could assist. Went 5 mins down the road to the other ace hardware and they were able to complete my request quickly without hassle.

Nice enough staff but does not do you any good when products aren’t in stock. I checked the website prior to driving over - it said they carried the Benjamin Moore paint I was looking for. When I arrived it was nowhere to be found and I was informed they wouldn’t be able to get it in stock for weeks. If you don’t have a product, update your website to reflect that please.

This is the best hardware store in our city. Andy, the owner, is dedicated and hard-working, and he does not take his customers for granted. Hes always trying to improve his store and help his staff better meet the needs of the public. The store has, in fact, survived and prospered despite formidable competition from all sides because of this devotion to excellence in goods and services. When I need tools or equipment, or helpful advice, this is the place for me. I pass by Home Depot, and I drive past the Ace stores that are nearer to my home - because I know I can trust this store, and the folks who work here.

Super attentive, helpful and polite! Coolest stuff I have seen in an Ace Harware in a very long time. Prices are the same as per any other Ace; personally I think Aces prices are a little high. But thats the price you pay to get immensely helpful people with a store that has cool sh*t!😁Most definitely will make this an intentional out of my way stop!

I have never shopped at an Ace before, knowing they are independently owned I choose Ace over a big box hardware store. Having been in the store for less then one minute I was approached by whom I believe was a manger, he did ask if he could help me find what I was looking for but it was delivered in very rude tone without any greeting, he then informed of the bag policy(I dont drive and I carry a chrome messenger bag thats my purse and cargo space). It was at this time it was clear he wasnt looking to provide any customer service rather he was performing loss prevention. He made me feel like criminal not a customer. I understand this is a long standing policy but maybe its time to reconsider and invest in better surveillance and security. I have never shopped at Ace and never will.

Ive been shopping this store for over 15 years. Staff is top notch and truly cares and goes above and beyond. They exceed any expectations one could have of a retail store in todays market. Combine this with quality products and why would I waste my time or money elsewhere?

Kind lady working today helped me make a return at this location even though I had a product from them bought at Ace in Aurora and did not want to drive that far. Was extremely convenient and seamless process (even though I did not have original card on hand at the time I used for my purchase) she made it work saved me a load of time and hassle while I was in the area for other errands!

I needed my lawn mower blade sharpened so I called around....not every hardware store does this. I walked into the Ace at Alameda Station and walked down aisle 21 to the Ace shop. Eric greeted me and said he would be right with me. After finishing with a customer before me, he saw my blade and said he could sharpen it on a wait. Never had that happen before. I was out of there in minutes. Thank you Eric!

Horribly managed. Product scattered everywhere. Associates couldnt tell me where anything was. Finally tried to buy a pot and they asked me to go find the price for them. After I said no, they started guessing on what price to give me and ended up just walking out. Go to home depot down the street - much better service and the management actually knows what they are doing.

Disappointed - Propane fill up changed to full tank only?!?!I use your store all the time, convenient and nice people.I also come to fill my multiple propane tanks and come specifically because I can bring a 1/2, 1/4 full tank and top off.Came the other day and was told its a full tank only.Asked why and its because people fill, get their bill but dont go in the store to pay.Discussed the situation with the manger and provided a simple solution - hold credit card or cash before the fill up. The idea was rejected for a couple of reasons of which made no sense when questioned.Please take some simple steps to keep this service. I will never again bring my propane again until this change is reversed.Very unhappy Ace

I was looking forward to shopping at this Ace Hardware for the first time. I walked in with a very small bag with shoulder straps, the size of a small purse, which I wear due to shoulder issues instead of carrying a purse on one shoulder. I see a young man and head in his direction, and as he sees me, immediately tells me I need to give my backpack to someone up front. This bag does not fit the qualification as a backpack, and only carries my wallet, tissues, pens, hand sanitizers and medications. I tried to reason with him about wanting my personal objects with me, but he then said this is a family run store and we make our own rules. I asked him if he always insisted on women giving up their purse when they came in, and he replied, yes, most of the time. I dont believe it. Its a shame, and now I will never shop at this particular Ace due to rules that only apply to some women.

This store is a neighborhood asset. They have most of what I need to keep my house and yard maintained.I have two major gripes: First, the clerks have always been rather numb when it comes to keeping the checkout line moving. In this day and age of the pandemic, that is a bad thing. Second, the store used to be really good about mask compliance. Not so much lately. On my most recent visit, several customers and employees were wearing their masks below their noses.

Went In to pick up an order I placed online. Turns out they didn’t have it in stock even though it said they did. This is the third times that’s happened. Then wanted to buy caulk that was on sale, however, the cashier needed an override. After 5-10 minutes asking the manager to come up for the override, he never did. Store is such a debacle.

Ask if I can fill up my propane tank. They said it would be a few minutes. Waited about 15 minutes. I went back in kindly asked if they were going to be able to help me. They again told me it would be a few minutes. Waited another 15 minutes. They never came out. Apparently the employees just dont want to work. I just find it very impolite to keep me waiting. If they dont feel like working just tell me and I can take my business somewhere else where people actually value my time.

Absolutely horrible experience, they treated me like a criminal the whole time I was there. Im a professional adult in my late 30s, I bicycle to work everyday, I stopped by to buy a cable lock for my bike. I was followed around the store and eventually asked to remove my backpack. I was a little annoyed by having to remove my bag (It’s a small over the shoulder chrome messenger bag, not much bigger than a purse and it is literally my purse), but I’m sure they deal with a lot of shoplifters located where they are so it’s whatever. Then some old blonde Karen helped me find the thing I wanted and as I’m heading up to the counter with said item she radios to security that I am walking to the counter with my $15 item. So humiliating, I will never be going back here even though I live in the neighborhood. They should all be ashamed.

Ace Hardware is definitely our local hardware store. We live in a house built in 1900, so the needs for our house can be somewhat difficult at times. We have found that Ace Hardware has what we need 99% of the time. Customer Service is excellent at Ace. There is a large parking lot, which is free too! We go here for our paint, hardware, and just about everything else. Prices are good too. Thanks Ace, for all of your help through all these years.

Ive been waiting to get one key made. Gentlemen working the key station has paged 4 times for additional assistance at the key counter and I watch 2 employees look over their shoulder and just keep standing around. Normally customer service here is better than this.

The store clerk was very helpful. However, the checkout clerk and checkout manager were not. The only checkout clerk, had a problem. The mgr. partially helped, but then took a non emergency personal call. He left the clerk hanging, with two other people in front of me, waiting in line while he chit chatted on the phone one register over. I stood in line 15. min. just waiting, apologized to the stranded clerk that I didnt have the time to wait longer, and then walked out, while the mgr. was still talking on the phone. By that time there were two more people behind me.

Edit:Waited over 2 hours and then they refused to find my order and said they were canceling it and I could shop somewhere else.Manager David hung up the phone on me.Unorganized and inefficient.Online order “ready for pickup” and when I arrived I had to call and talk to three different people, after being hung up on 6-7 times, and waited for over an hour and a half for them to find my order and bring it out.This is after someone found the part of my order that was ready yesterday within 5 minutes of giving them the information.They can not handle curbside pickup and do not like to answer the phone

There should really be some negative stars on here but here’s what happened to me today. Ordered an electric char broil grill that is red in color. Ordered this morning around 9 am. The confirmation email said they would contact me with a time of delivery. After 3 hours of waiting for a call I decided to call and see what was up. The first employee said he would talk to his manager to find out the delivery time and he would call me back. One hour goes by and no call, 2nd call to them is picked up and hung up right away, 3rd call is picked up and I’m put on hold, but just before they put me on hold I heard the guy call over a customer in line. The 3rd call returned from being on hold and said it would be delivered by 5pm. The 4th call I received from the manager telling me that he had been in a manager meeting and that my grill was being assembled in the store and he would have it out to me by 4:30pm. I told him I never wanted it setup because I don’t trust someone to take the right time and care to assemble it. Anyways I was tired of waiting around for them because I have to receive it in person. So the guy delivering it calls me to come down to get it at my place and as he’s pulling it out it is black grill and not red. I thought it might be a happy mistake because I would have rathered the black over red. It reaches the ground and I see a propane tank ring on the bottom shelf. I said to the guy this looks like a gas grill and not electric and he tells me it does both! In my head being a chef I thought not a chance. We both look thru the paperwork and manual, it’s clearly propane only which I can’t have in my apartment. Not only did Javier assemble it but his paperwork said red electric grill. He calls his manager and has the entire convo in Spanish which I know a little. Anyways I tell him that I will take the right one, in it’s box in exchange, turns out they never had one to begin with in stock. So he takes it back to the store and I call the store right away to see how they could have screwed this up. The “manager” lady I talked to was inconsiderate considering they not only screwed up the color but also the heating method. They said they would have one to me by Tuesday the 16th of June. She told me that their print of the order was in black in white which must have contained a picture on their end. Idk about anyone else but the color of the print has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the paper said red and electric. Long story short they are refunding my money but it doesn’t take away from the 2 different meats I had defrosted this morning for the wrong grill.

I used to love going here because of the proximity to my house. Not anymore... I will not shop at a place that ask me to give you my backpack that has my work laptop, tablet, wallet, and life in that bag. I rode my bike, and am being asked to give you a bag because I might steal something....? If it were a purse, would you expect that to be handed over as well? I hope not! As Denver grows and the community around you continues to be gentrified, people will not like being asked to have their stuff handed over. Crime will rise because life around this area is getting more expensive, and density is increasing... Probably a bad idea to turn people against you as your rent will surely increase and you will need every dollar you can get!! Also, if you want neighbors to help you find carts, and people who steal things that you post on a Nextdoor, you should probably be more neighborly, and not assume everyone with a backpack is going to steal from you.

They may not have everything you need but I start here (usually with a coupon or two they have mailed to me because of an account with them) before I shop at the big box stores. I found ear protection at ACE Hardwares website. Decided that I wanted to buy it at your store. When I arrived inside your store I was told that I needed to leave my backpack at your cashier station. I am not a thief. I spent about 30 minutes with your employee trying to locate the ear protection and I was eventually told the item was not available?????? That same day your employee who was helping me called to tell me the item was actually in-stock and would be at the desk for me to purchase. What is up with this unacceptable inventory monitor, no wonder you bother your most important people--your customers--and require that backpacks be left with your cashiers.

Your typical Ace trip, quick, easy, and you didnt get bombed by the Japanese like December 7th 1941 by the Japanese. Given the circumstances, it was a pretty good offensive move by them, not that I condone that type of unethical activity, but nonetheless it proved effective in the short run. From a pure geographical perspective, it is foolish to attack the US on their soil in war, as it would take decades before you can concur given a ground assault prior to world ending weapons such as Noble Gas based bombs. Overall if Im in the area I will definitely come back to Ace Hardware for supplies for the pure convenience of the trip.

Its so sad that I must write this negative review. Ive been a loyal customer for the many years that Ive lived in the Baker neighborhood. However, they have not responded to the numerous letters, phone calls, and emails that Ive made to both the Alameda Station Ace and the Cherry Creek Ace, owned by Andy Carlson.In October 2015 I made my annual purchase of Amaryllis flowers, buying six this year as I intended to give two as gifts. I late January only two of the six had bloomed, of the four that didnt bloom was my gift. I went to the store with pictures of the non-blooming amaryllis to get a refund for them. Dave, the manager refused to give me a refund or even any succor because I had no receipt-who keeps receipts from October all the way to January. He also refused to look up my Ace Rewards account to confirm my purchases.Its now May and I have still not had a phone call, email nor a letter to resolve this issue. Andy called me once and said hed get back to me, but he has not. I wrote to Corporate and they said I would be getting a message from a manager. I have not. I tried one last time two days ago, but have not heard anything.So, I must now boycott this store and travel to Home Depot. And all over $20.00,a rude manager, and zero communication.

I bought a propane tank from this Ace Hardware about 2 years ago. It sits under the grill at my house. Ive gotten it refilled at this exact Ace Hardware location twice.I bring it in today to get refilled and am told its too beat up. They cant do anything about it. They cant refill it. They cant replace it. The Ace employee advises me to take it to Safeway (across the parking lot). Safeway will exchange it, he tell me.I can assure you that the tank is in the exact same condition that it was in when Ace sold it to me 2 years ago. Its literally sat under my grill and made two short trips back Ace to get refilled. Ive never had a problem before.Fortunately, Safeway did take it. Super smooth exchange. Hooray for Safeway!Ace Hardware though, has lost my trust. They just flat out refused to help me, even though the propane tank was originally purchased and refilled multiple times by them. For a business that needs to win on customer service (because they definitely arent winning on price or selection), I dont even understand how they can be so brain-dead with their customer service and support

Awful customer service!!! I bought an item, then found it for about $5 cheaper in their website. I called them from the parking lot, which they told me to bring it in to fix it. When I brought it in, I waited for a store manager to come up to the front only to tell me that we dont honor our online prices as each store is managed differently....sorry.Are you kidding me!?!? I used to shop at their store all the time as it is close to work, but nope...not anymore. If you are really going to turn down a customer over a lousy $5 than Ill drive out of my way to shop elsewhere.

Great local place, often has what I need when the Santa fe HD does not. For high end or specialty items that you dont have time to order, its best to visit one of the bigger locations like lakewood. I now visit this location first before other options or online ordering. The staff is very nice for the most part, but everyone has bad days and its usually at the register in this case. All around great little location for basic needs.

I went in here yesterday looking for a replacement to a springed ball bearing clasp I have at the top of 2 closet doors I have and had the pleasure of speaking with Terry or Kerry. He educated me on why these seem to fail from time to time but that they didnt carry them. He then indicated to me that he recently removed some for a friend and had a couple extra in his truck. He fetched them for me ang gave them to me free of charge. I tried to slip him cash and he wouldnt accept it. What a great guy and the reason I will always stop here first.
