Wouldnt order my carpet from here again. My move in to my new house was delayed because of this slow install. Lost time and money. They offered 7 to 10 days install.6/10 started process6/13 came to measure6/16 got my quote6/17 orderedGot a call back after I called looking for my install date. Dave was very rude telling me only available in July. And than telling me HD will charge me for moving furniture. Well the house was empty and wasnt after this wait. After telling him HD offered free furniture moving. He changed the story to furniture has to be broken down. That was fine with me. Went back to the store to complain. Was told they dont offer 7 10 days anymore. They said a manager would call me next day. Nobody ever called.7/7 Finally got my carpet installed. The installers themselves didnt care about moving furniture, they worked hard and carpet was nice. I think it was different installer all together. Bottom line. Too much middle man, try going to a direct installer for your carpet needs.

I HATE going to home Depot! Its a massive store and can be overwhelming. But what makes my Home Depot experience so frustrating are the employees. Either the lack of or the difficulty of finding someone to help me.i recently was at a jobsite in the suburbs and it required me to make a few dreaded visits to the Darien Home Depot. I was so fortunate and LUCKY to run into an associate by the name of Flo. What a lovely person! Super friendly, professional but most importantly, SO KNOWLEDGEABLE!!! Today, sunday, september 26, my experience at home depot located in darien il was an hour late collecting the products that i would buy i am a contractor who almost daily buy from 2000 to 3000 dlls of products for my project i have my pro costumer account and the assistant manager just didnt want my client to pay 3000 dlls in merchandise he is a bad assistant because he made the company lose a sale of 3000 dlls I think they should remove him from the position is not a good element for home depot business

The parking lot is small compared to other stores but they do have a large garden center. Employees are helpful and walk around asking if you need help finding anything. Quick checkout with several cashiers. Note to self: park in the strip mall lot next to the garden center and walk over, dont park closest to 75th street again 😉

Bought laundry machines, fairly easy process at the start. Got all the items I thought I needed (hose upgrade? Sure, I know nothing). Fast forward 3 weeks, delivery comes and says, nope you need to hire a plumber and reschedule. That takes a bit of time of course. . .then I go to reschedule...10 more days.The joyous times of going to a laundromat, spending $10 per load of laundry when I have just spend around $1800 on laundry machines.Completely elated with the customer support and lack of communication with the install would be.Second star for a decent price...but that savings is getting eaten away by charge and time at the laundromat.On top of all of this, we had made a quick trip back and the cashier in self checkout was immensely rude when I asked what to do if we didnt have a Purchase Order. These were some of my first experiences shopping at Home Depot, and I dont believe they will have my patronage again

I think I’m lucky that I’m fairly handy and don’t generally need to ask too many questions but if I was a beginner or not handy it’s tough to find employees for help.

Found an item I wanted, site says 6 in the store. Drove to the store where there were none on the rack, so an employee and I looked on the overhead shelves for 20 minutes trying to find them before the employee informed me the night shift is super overworked and under a lot of stress, so they may have just put the exact item I was looking for wherever. Extremely frustrating to not have access to an item the site says has 6 in stock.

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The store is located right off of 75th in Darien. Nearby shops include Wal Mart, Aldi, Jets Pizza, Panda Express. There is a huge parking lot with a wide variety of carts available depending on the size of items you plan to purchase. The layout inside the store is easy to understand because the aisles are clearly labeled with imagery and words.

Milwaukee isle. Asked the guy if they are matching prices and he said no all while reading personal messages in front of me. He’s name is Ben I think. And if you are not matching Amazon prices is ok but don’t say after asking you specifically if you match prices you say no and giving me attitude. Not cool

Finding assistance is usually hard. Today got lucky. Perhaps late hour helped.

Made a Friday night trip to pick through the Halloween decor, found some solar globes and other goodies. While my wife sorted that out I grabbed LED bulbs for the basement. Next we checked out the new Ryobi one plus hot glue gun to finish DIY decorations and then work gloves. All in all a very productive 30 minute visit.

LOVE being able to order online and pickup at the store. Very quick and easy. Ordered in morning and picked up in afternoon. Everyone has always been helpful when I have questions or cant find something.

Love the workshops for kids every month. We go to every one we can. Now i make it a point to shop here - my 3 year old son gets excited to come in and starts yelling every time we drive past. There is always plenty of friendly and helpful staff if i have a question or need help finding something. Store is tidy and i am always able to find what I came for in stock. We will continue visiting often!

Had to go to this home depot instead of Woodridge because they had flooring product we wanted to see. I still prefer HD over Lowes or Menards. This HD was well organized, had nice fall plants displayed & also had ample hand sanitizer stations etc.

My mom is a Senior Citizen and the young man was very patient with her. She was not rushed and he made sure that when she left and before she purchased she had all the information she needed. Way to go Home Depot! The store was clean and the shelves were stocked. Great experience.

The employee that helped me in the hardware department was very patient with me and helped me to accomplish what I wanted to when I arrived at the store. He was very respectful and made me feel like a valued Home Depot customer.

There staff needs to be more customer service and less judgmental about customer my husband works every day as a plumber he has to go to Home Depot on a daily basis and when he has to do a return on a tool or material that is not working or broken or the wrong material size they look at him in a very bad way my husband’s company has an account with home depot but I do not appreciate the discrimination that they give my husband I hope they train there customer service representatives to be less judgement and more appreciation

I went to the store with a $ 8.00 voucher from GE. I had purchased GE LED lite bulbs several years ago. One of the bulbs burnt out. I had my original receipt and original packaging. After calling GE they sent me the 8 dollar voucher. But not one GE bulb. I assertained, from a Google inquiry, that Target sells GE lite bulbs. Looks like thats where I am going next.

Came in today 01/2/2021 to buy 9 indoor doors, no assistance in doors department, found someone and asked for his help, he asked me what do I need? told him “doors” and have some questions, then he asked me again twice what do I need, told him again that I need doors then he started yelling what do I need again, really???Besides that he was eating his snacksI guess his name was Dave (not sure)No more Home DepotThanks

I waited for about 45 minutes to do a simple task, to get a utility shelf cut to fit my closet. I spoke to 5 store clerks, each one tells me they will send the person that will be able to assist me. I started to type this review while at the store waiting...Now I am done and walking out....Go to Maynards or LOWES never again Home Depot. I received similar services in the store on 75th and 59th, the problem with Home Depot will start showing up on their earning report.

Tom was nice enough to give me a new mask because mine was dirty! The people at customer service were very nice and efficient as well!

I really enjoy going to Home Depot especially during Black Friday week. However, with all of the other stuff going on this year, Home Depot has been celebrating Black Friday since early November. The great deals have been numerous ang included several brand name products being sharply discounted (eg Werner Laddrrs Gorilla Ladders, etc.).

COVID review: Great social distancing protocols. Self check-out is almost like being in a protective booth. Carts inside the doors are sanitized for customers. All customers and staff safely in masks. This was a good experience when trying to social distance, and still get all my summer flowers for the garden. Went at 6am.

Although the prices are not that good they have just about every hardware item you could need and lots of other things as well. Also the staff is very helpful and polite. Home Depot carries products that other stores should but dont.

I just went there to cut a closetmaid shelves that I purchased here. Their cutter was out of service and I understand that. I asked what can I cut it with I will purchase it, and I got an answer a saw or a bolt cutter.I needed to ask again where can I find it and witch one will cut it? The gentelman told me front of store its there and walking me over pointing on a costumer standing next to bolt cutter and telling me see its there.Many bolt cutters there and I asked witch one should cut this he said I don’t think so you can cut it with this and telling me I might need a saw or I better go to other home depot to cut it for me.So in the store full of tools and machine for cutting out of order, they couldn’t cut it for me nor to lead me to the tool to BUY it and cut it myself.They cut it in the other store in 2 sec and they couldn’t believe that they have sent me there saying they had bolt cutter to cut it with!!!!Embarrassing!Go to Woodridge location, very proffered and polite staff members compared to Darien location.

Been going there for years. will not go anymore and will instead drive the extra minutes to menards going forward. I rarely return stuff but very recently they starting scanning the drivers license for returns. I returned within 2 days with a valid receipt and unopened item. not sure whats going on. dont feel comfortable with the tracking and all the personal information I need to give out for a simple return

Had to go back out to the parking lot to get a cart for drywall....walked entire store and couldnt find 1 flatbed or drywall cart.

I purchased a refrigerator and a wine cooler from Home Depot! Spend more then $2000 ! When the delivery guys came, they didnt even measure the place for the fridge! They says its too tight, drop the fridge in the living room and left! So unprofessional! Tham me and my husband did all the instructions by ourself, and put the fridge at the right place! They try even to make a joke on us! On the paper carie says UFLB! SHAME ON YOU HOME DEPOT!

Ordered $6500 worth of appliances- and when the fridge was delivered it was damaged. Then I was told the LG fridge is on back order so I would have to wait 2-4 weeks more until they get them. Once they got them they scheduled a delivery without letting me know- And I wasn’t about to take another vacation day from work to wait for. 6 hr window delivery- when tried to reschedule they told me sorry you will have to wait another 1 1/2 weeks for the delivery of the fridge. None of the days I can do was available for them... thats not how you treat customers- especially I already got the run around for 30 days...If I knew I was going to run into with all of this inconvenience and taking 2 days off from work I would of spent my money somewhere else. Which I will in future!

Home Depot has always been a reliable store to find most products I have needed with decent availability and price.That being said, despite having a mostly friendly staff that can point out product locations for you just fine, they tend to lack in the knowledge department that most mom and pop hardware store employees can usually offer. I guess thats why they call them do-it-yourself stores, however I had to say it as it has caused issues with a couple jobs Ive had even though the issues were rectified by management(this is also why Im giving 4 stars instead of 5).I will continue to shop at The Home Depot until I can find a store that can compete with pricing AND product variety/availability. More savings. More doing. Thats the power of Th.. Oh wait it changed.. How doers get it done.

I had a great experience with Home Depot in Darien, IL. I went in to talk about possible remodel and met Sharon Springman. Her level of knowledge and demeanor was fantastic and we decided to move forward with her. We also elected to have Sharon order the appliances and other ancillary items through Home Depot. People buy from people and we interviewed a number of reputable contractors. With Sharon’s design and professionalism, we have not looked back.

I first called Home Depot to find out about dishwashers they carry. A very nice man helped me and said that they would be glad to find more of what we are looking for we came in. When we went into the store the next day we found out that gentleman was not there that day. All they seem to have displayed were very expensive machines which we cannot afford. I found a lady at the desk and she said we need to go online look at the different models and choose one we wanted and set up delivery. She was not helpful. And it seems whenever we go to Home Depot they just dont have what we are looking for.

We always have projects we are doing at home and have spent a lot of bucks in Home depot. So one time we needed to cut this long counter top board with a little angled measurements to fit a wall but we dont have a circular saw nor have the experience to use one. So,Me and my husband went to Darien store location to ask if they can cut it for us,we will pre measure and prepare it that way they will just cut it. We went a day before to make sure they can before bringing it, the older gentleman we spoke to ( wasnt able to get his name) said it was okay as long as we pre measure it and to bring it early morning weekend because it wasnt busy and ask for anyone in lumber.We went the next day which I think was Sun and asked who was working at the lumber that morning. We talked to a certain Anthony ( have tattoos on both arms) from the lumber department stating He was the boss of that department. We told him all about our request and that we spoke with someone yesterday stating there would be no issues. After telling him about the specifics he refused,stating that the cutting saw wasnt made for cutting the type of wood we brought and that it was too complicated.He also kept stating Im not doing your project for you and recommended for us to cut it ourselves by buying equipment and walked away. We were okay with it but the way he handled the situation seemed more of I dont want to do it vs I not able to do it. So we went to the Woodridge location to try since we disagree that it cant be done. We meet Chip, who works in the lumber department and have provided great customer service. He listened and provided the service with no issues at all. He was able to cut my board/wood perfectly with the same saw Home depot have for cutting in the Darien Location. No hesitations and knows what he was doing.

Only one 3/4 x 1/2 street threaded reducing insert in the bin. There wasnt even a been where there should have been for the galvanized version. Time to check the stock at ACE Hardware.

Its a convenient location but the staff likes to make it hard to complete a purchase. Theyre really good at closing off lumber aisles with the forklift as soon as I need to pick something up. I tend to go elsewhere.

I needed help in plumbing and I asked the cashier is she would page some one for me. She said he is standing right there , I couldnt see him from where I was, she walked with me all the way to where he was hiding and told him that I needed help, he said he would be right there. I waited then he passed by the isle pushing the same cart he was before, I went after him but I couldnt find him. Went back to the plumbing isle to wait he didnt come to help me, as I was exiting the isle turned to my right there he was with a mockery gesture, and he asked did you needed help? And he laughed. Everyone else was nice but him.
