Theres a lady with a bob there, as soon as me and my friend walked in she said theres no tables right now so we decided to place a to-go order. Thankfully there was a girl and guy who were kind enough to offer us to sit with them. As soon as we sat down, the bob lady came up to us and said just so you know your food isnt coming out until an hour in the rudest way. She had an attitude the whole time, didnt even give us menus and the other girl working was straight up smoking in the kitchen. I have never seen anything like this. The place is filthy too. Whoever is the owner/manager really needs to take care of this place. It has lots of potential but they are not taking care of it and letting it thrive. Me and my friend ended up leaving because we waited 30 minutes and didnt even get a menu.
We waited 15 minutes no one came to offer drink or take our order they werent busy at all just lazy or rude. Not sure which. Dont know how the food was we are going to Waffle House hopefully a better experience
PLEASE GO HERE!This place is unique and one of kind 👍🏾 friendly, quite and delicious. I got the T-Bone breakfast steak combo and my fiancé got the The Hobo breakfast plate (don’t know why it’s called that lol) and I got my steak medium-well because even the waitress recommend it and I was so satisfy with her recommendation!! Very old school place and I never been to one of these places before if you are up late and driving through Dallas I would choose this place over IHOP or Denny’s any day😇
This place was great! My first diner experience in Dallas Texas! My waitress was very helpful with the menu choice. Her name was Candid I believe. She had a great personality and seems happy to work at the place when she was working. When I come back to Dallas this is definitely a diner I will be coming to get my breakfast when Im back in town! I appreciate the good service keep up the good work 55 plus years and you guys are still killing it!
Great little dinner! Lots of atmosphere. Good standard Americana menu. My breakfast of eggs over easy, bacon and pancakes was just right. The staff work hard and they were friendly and polite.
Wow were to begin. This place is one of the best dine in places today. The cook which is a young guy is the best. He needs a raise his cooking is awesome. Really loved my burger that night. Good job with your cook. The lady was also very nice and welcomed. Will be returning. Thanks guys..
My first time to Metro Diner while waiting for car repairs... I had 2 egg combo with home potatoes and sausage links with a short stack (2) of pancakes. I walked away extremely satisfied. 10/10 recommend the home fries. I appreciated that every table and the bar had all the condiments you would need. Will definitely be returning.
First time to visit. Nice diner with quaint atmosphere. Very laid back with friendly wait staff who happily offered suggestions on the menu. Had an afternoon lunch on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all. Food came out in a timely manner and it was good. For our order, we felt the prices were reasonable. Our table had a burger and blt with the fries. Everything looked and tasted fresh (no weird textured frozen tomatoes or limp lettuce)! No complaints here. See several comments about staff taking frequent breaks but its a very laid back atmosphere and seems less structured than a corporation. More akin to down home family run like youd find in small towns. Here, the pace is slower and you dont feel like youre taking up space. We stayed a few hours catching up with friends and not once were we rushed or given a hint to leave. The only other thing to point out is be aware if you use a credit card there is a fee.. Maybe 3%? Ours was 65¢. Maybe due to the small business they need to recapture the processing fee, which is fine. Anyways, no big deal to us but making a mention for those who might like to know beforehand.
If you want REAL food, eggs,bacon,blueberry French toast. And real coffee.this is the place. Hone town neighborhood feel. I love this place. The staff, atmosphere is rare now adays
Went on a Friday night after some drinks. Great service, the staff is really nice and the food was great. I would of posted a pic but I ate it so fast. I had the 2X4 and my girl had a burger with onion rings. Will definitely return.

Well....if youre hungry and simply cant find anything else...I guess it will do.Place is very dated. Its really not the cleanest place Ive ever seen. In fact, the restroom was really dirty.We stopped because it was very late and we were hungry....and a bit desperate I guess.Been there. Done that. Doubt Ill ever be going back.

The waitress was on her personal cell phone on speaker when we walked in and seated ourselves, 5min. later still on the phone, bringing us water and silverware, walked away still on speaker phone after another 10 min. still on phone we left. it was not busy, she was very rude and unprofessional, not good for business the waitress should be terminated

This place fell off bad! I remember going there as a little girl when it was called pit grill & the staff was always great & food was always delicious! Even as it opened up as Metro. I remember my Mother saying she could stay & drink there coffee all day! lol but most recently my Mother was in town & so I took her their for breakfast like old times. They have some new staff members there that are so rude & unprofessional. No more greetings at the door, no more nice music, no more friendly conversations; the place is unorganized & dirty. Our order wasnt taken for a while & when we ate the food was so different & the plate look sad. I remember when they used to hook it up! I ordered a hobo plate & I swear instead of 2 scrabble eggs it looked like 1 burn egg, the bacon slice was tiny & a very small strip of ham. You get 1 cup of coffee (hot) if your lucky & they never came back around to ask us for a refill or how we were doing. My Mom was so disappointed. Theres a young girl that works there who stands around gossiping & talks about people as they enter smh she tried to have a slick mouth with me but I put her in her place immediately. I hope this place gets better, it used to have competition with Normas.

2nd time we tried it and waited more then 30 mins with no service and left! Cook was outside smoking and waitress was gone and restaurant was left unattended. People were leaving because no service. There was no one but a few customers in the restaurant. Not sure how this place is even still open with that kind of service. Sad cause this place use to be good! Won’t ever be back again!

Found this place while on break from work. Really wanted something not coming from a drive they window. I really love this chili. It’s so good!! I make chili at home all the time and never have I been able to make it this good. I don’t know how they did it but it’s got a bit of a velvet mouth feel. I love that!! Oh!! Very rich and flavorful, lots of meat! I will definitely be back for more!! Also. The atmosphere is very clean. And even though there are a lot of people here. It’s rather quiet and calm. Everyone is so happy. Obviously because the food is so good!

Very dirty it took them like 15 min for someone to come cook our food because the cook was standing outside smoking and talking to other people. The cooking area and the utensils were very dirty they appeared to not have been cleaned in some time. Five of the tables had not been cleared and cleaned. The waitresses that we had were so old that she would forget what she was doing right while she was talking to us. The inside is real out dated and dusty. The people were real nice,so I guess that made up for the other stuff wont be returning
Food is amazing but service is horrible never have I had a waiter be so quick to dismiss a customer because she didnt know how to do her job or didnt have the time to do so. Its ashame I had the person that cooks the food to take and serve my order

I frequent this business when there was one on hall street dallas texas by Baylors. Then I found out it was demolished. Wow !I found this one in Oak Cliff Dallas and there was renewed love in the system.If one day you have this customer that ask you to promise to never go out of business,at least in my lift time ( est 30 to 50 yrs ) that guy would most likely be me. I mainly remember having a opens 24 hrs a day to feed my face.Either/ Or Thanks for your services to the neighborhood.

Ok lets be honest. This place used to be great! I would come here at any hour and leave home satisfied and ready for a nap. But that was years ago..many years ago..now I just go here for the nostalgia and good memories. I dont know if its because of the quality of food maybe changing,the cooks,or a combination of both. Here you will get what you pay for. You ask for bacon crispy,you get bacon burnt. The French fries used to be so good,but they changed to a different style of fries..I really miss the way it used to be. This place used to be my go too place to eat!
