I went to get an appraisal for my diamond engagement ring. We received one from the store we purchased the diamond from but wanted to make sure we were not ripped off. Sam was very honest and told me my appraisal was accurate so told me it wasnt worth me paying for another one. My experience with this company started off well and I admit that they are one of the best options for trading in jewelry, based on what I have experienced and heard. However, I DO NOT recommend shopping with them for an engagement ring, or other high end jewelry for yourself or a loved one. If your time is at all valuable, you will feel like the people here do not take you seriously and so much of your time will be wasted.They will continue to lead you on that they are working on your item, when really they are so busy helping other people, or sitting around watching TV that weeks will go by before you hear from them only to find out that nothing was being done during that time. Even if you are pro-active and reach out to them first, it is a huge hassle to call every day because they keep making excuses and will tell you that your work is being expedited like you asked for, when it really is not. They operate under the assumption that you are willing to sacrifice quality and your time for a good price and discount. You may get a good price compared to some stores, but I felt during my experience that the diamonds I was being shown were not really the quality and grade they state them to be. Also, their selection is VERY limited and must be brought from off-site. This means that you will have to be VERY willing to compromise on the diamonds you buy because you will only have a couple choices of lower grade stones and you must have an appointment to see anything.Lastly, please know that there is no true Wholesale diamond store that you can go to as a consumer. You are still paying a markup. Stores with wholesale or exchange in their name are just retailers for a wholesaler. That is why they have to bring diamonds from off-site since they are just borrowing them to sell. That is also why it may only be available for a few days and why it cant be sent out to be certified and appraised. Hopefully you can now make an informed decision based on this info.

These guys were great in helping my wife and I select two diamonds to match the diamond on her engagement band. They were very helpful in educating us on the different diamond qualities and how they impact cost. Both diamonds we bought had GIA certifications. It was my understanding that if we found a diamond we liked and there was no certification they would get it certified for us. If you are looking for loose diamonds you will be hard pressed to find a better deal matched with the level of service they provided!

Went to sell silver rounds. Mistook this place for Dallas Gold and Silver Exchange. Sammy was very nice but seemed determined to under-value the product. Brought back an estimate from the appraiser (which seemed low to me). When I told him I wanted to think it over, he bumped up the buying price. If he handt tried to low-ball me in the first place, we might have agreed on the buying price. Also, this place looks shady - maybe a new coat of paint and some decent artwork on the walls (especially in the private room) might help.

Im glad to say I had a great experience with Diamond and Gold Exchange. Im not a huge fan of the diamond industry or weddings in general but the staff made it tolerable for me. They were able to do, in a few weeks, what most others couldnt do at all. The place is very simple and doesnt waist money on the building or frivolous things like conference areas. They make business by being cost competitive. I saved $10k-$20k on my engagement ring which put me at close to half what it would have cost at the other engagement ring stores I tried. The staff was very helpful, and even drove to Oklahoma to get my engagement ring because I was in a rush. In my opinion I would take a first class product and service over a nice show room any day of the week.
