This was my first time stopping at Café Mark. The ambiance and decor was great, the food was delicious and the coffee was great. I would repeat. When the omelette arrived, I thought it was a bit small but it was packed with filling. The omelette filled me up.I thought the flavor of the potatoes was delicious but it did have quite a bit of pepper. For someone that doesn’t like pepper, I would request the potatoes with little or no pepper.
So happy to have found this little gem on a recent visit to nearby Rocky Gap. The food was great (recommend the Reuben and side veggies) and the iced latte -- so smooth! We loved hanging out in the top loft area, playing board games. Would have stayed all day if they were open later! 😄 The staff was extremely nice and helpful as well!
Stopped by because of the ratings and was passing through the area, good location and atmosphere. Our server was nice and helpful with recommendations. Personally, I highly recommend the B.E.A.T. Sandwich( bacon, egg, avocado, tomato). A light but flavorful sandwich perfect for breakfast imo. Definitely stop by if in the area.
Food is amazing! I highly recommend the croque monsieur. They make the food right in front of you which I enjoyed. Great atmosphere. Coffee is great as well!
What a find! Incredible food, friendly atmosphere and service with portions and prices that will bring you back time and again. Oh, do you like coffee or tea? Then you will love this place ❤. Only fault I can find, is that they close at 2, no dinner. Give it a try!
I have been coming here since it was the Daily Grind. I have never has better service, better coffee or better breakfast anywhere. I used to love Starbucks and now you couldnt pay me to go anywhere but Cafe Mark. The negative comments here blow my mind. I have been there literally thousands of times and never once had a negative experience. The man that made a comment about a better brew without milk... if you order a latte it comes with milk. Just order a coffee. I recommend Cafe Mark to everyone I come across that is looking for somewhere to eat or wants good coffee. I will still be coming there when I am 90.
This is a place my friends and I visit once a year after we go camping. We always have Sunday brunch for the last 6 or 7 years. It has always had a great vibe, service is excellent, and the food is magnificent without being overpriced. The last time I had the blueberry pancakes and they were fluffy and light, and the fruit was fresh and sweet. In the past, the omelets have also been superb. So, for great food, great service and a great location in a quaint town, Cafe Mark earns my five stars.
This was a great little reprieve from the cold. The atmosphere was warm and the service was friendly. All the food looked amazing and we had a very tasty Orange Muffin. I loved the variety of coffees they could produce and the seasonality of the selection. Everything was socially distanced and the staff was seen cleaning regularly in our short visit. If I were a local, I would be a regular patron!
Very good food, excellent service.. Just a little pricy.
Great food and coffee! Recommend stopping here for breakfast. Be prepared for a little wait, but its worth it.
The best! We go every morning and are never disappointed. Mark’s is super popular, so sometimes the wait can be a bit longer, but it’s always worth it! And the staff is amazingly kind. It’s no surprise that it’s a busy place!
Cute little cafe with breakfast and lunch. I had the ham and Brie sandwich and a smores latte. The sandwich was good however I do think they need to change out their oil they use for the flattop because the sandwich had a slight rancid oil aftertaste. The service was quick and friendly.
The food was actually pretty delicious, but unfortunately the service was sub-par. The place was busy, and its almost like the staffing and setup does not support lots of people ordering breakfast. It took a while to get food, and my coffee order was missed completely. Id suggest writing names on the cups and calling them out so that someone doesnt grab the wrong drink--there were other customers with missed drink orders while I was there. Also the tables were not always wiped down between customers because there was one person running food and clearing tables.
Delicious breakfast sandwich and coffee. Loved the cozy upstairs space.
Just wanted to stop for brunch on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised! This place is so good! Worth a stop for sure.
Best cafe l have ever been to! The coffee is superb and the chicken sandwich and tomato bisque soup are phenomenal together. Friendly staff and nice relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place!
Great breakfast. Plenty of space. Good atmosphere. Good coffee. Worth a visit
Breakfast was AMAZING! We stopped by while on a camping trip with my dad, and it was like the BEST breakfast I’ve had in a while!
Food was good, service was slow. Very good coffee and drinks. Food a bit overpriced for what you get. Good atmosphere and location.
Very good breakfast, just like home, awesome! 5 stars.
We were visiting from out of town and had no idea what to choose! We picked this place and were very happy. Food was great!!
Menu was creative, food and coffee were delicious and service was reasonably speedy. What more could you want in a breakfast while traveling?
A nice coffee shop! Cozy atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. We were not expecting to wait for over 30 minutes for our food, but we had a cup of very good coffee and drinks while we waited. This was surprising, considering it did not seem like a busy time, as seen in the pictures. The smoothies were delicious, but with way too much added sugar for our taste. I had a good breakfast burrito that I was not expecting to taste sweet as well. My children loved the pancakes! We would definitely come back if we are in the area again.
Cafe Mark is a cool breakfast spot! I was infatuated with the marble rye toast. The vegetables in the garden omelette seemed like they were freshly picked from a garden. We carried our delicious hot chocolates to go and ventured next door to Baltimore St. Collectibles (also great)!
Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, delicious breakfast, but it took over an hour to get our food this morning. There were several guests that ordered after us that received their food before us, had time to eat their food, & box up their leftovers. When our food finally came, we had to get it to go because it took so long.
Great fresh food and coffee. Definitely going back
Really nice breakfast place. Great for vegan & gluten free
Nice people. Great vibe. Wifi password is iloveyou. Nice coffees well made.
Awesome atmosphere. Fabulous food. Will munch there again!
What a chic place in the middle of downtown Cumberland! I was highly disappointed to realize there is no Starbucks in town and GOOGLED coffee shops. CAFE MARK popped right up, so I thought, what the heck, I need caffeine for the rest of this 12 hr drive. What a pleasant surprise! Cafe Mark isnt just a coffee shop, it is an experience. Nestled in a beautiful 2 level historic building, Marks creates hand crafted coffee beverages and offers a menu bursting with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, breakfast bowl and a pancake with bacon. Delicious and my 2 year old grandson ate almost all of his, which is highly unusual
Great pastries and coffee in a cozy setting
Loved the atmosphere. Food was ok
Good breakfasts! Convenient location on the mall. Interesting decor upstairs.
Very long wait for coffee and they didnt have half the things on their menu. S ok we could only get 1 out of 3 coffee. Dont go if youre in a hurry.
Loved my iced coconut latte. The only bad thing about it was that it didn’t last longer. :)
Fantastic food and friendly staff. Truely foody level cuisine!
Nice atmosphere, good coffee and great breakfast specials. Its my go to spot if Im going to be in downtown Cumberland in the morning
It shouldn’t take almost 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches and kids Mac and cheese to go. I waited for 20 minutes and noticed people who ordered after me for dine in and takeout got their orders. When I asked the cashier to check the status of my order she said they are starting it now. I always believe in supporting small local business but I will not be back to cafe mark.
Go here for breakfast! Really delicious breakfast sandwiches. Good ingredients and freshly made. Nice people behind the counter too, they were polite and professional.
Went for a coffee with a couple of my girl friends this morning. It was my first time at this coffee shop. Its wonderful! Great prices, great atmosphere and delicious coffee! Would definitely recommend to others!
Great tea. Lovely sandwiches. Nice staff. Its got everything!
Truly a great wholesome food experience
I love the environment this place has ... Sit and feel cozy lol.. Plus great food and free wifi and guess too take youre time study while sipping on coco or coffee. Great special daily for breakfast... Highly recommend it and try soup and half sandwich special...
Excellent coffee, food, atmosphere, and staff.
Took over an hour to get our food. Miserable experience! To make matters worse, customers around us, who ordered 30-45 minutes after us, received their orders, ate their orders and left the restaurant. Seems that the lengthy wait was either selectively occasioned by what we ordered or they simply forgot our order.
Employees always treat us so kind and the food and coffee is always wonderful!
Very good. Service was fast and food was exceptional.
The sausage gravy was outstanding!!!
Breakfast their was good, cooked out in front on cooktops.
GREAT PLACE! They become like family! Everything is WONDERFUL! Including the $6 omelet days on Thursdays!! :)
Always a great experience. Try the London fog.
This place might be a great place to eat, but I wouldnt know because we never got our food. After waiting 45 min on a beautiful Sunday, it was busy and we were being understanding, I went in to inquire about our food. Where, I waited in line for another 10 min, I was told the order wasnt put in because I took the receipt. I dont know about you, but thats standard practice for me. Besides, Im sure it was handed to me. Regardless, a good place would have a better system in place and not keep the receipt machine in front of the customers if were not supposed to take the receipt. No sign either. Why are they using receipts to track the food orders anyway? Instead of saying: Im sorry, breakfast is on us, and it will be ready in five minutes (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon), they blamed me and charged me $8 bucks for three drinks, keeping the tip. I recommend you skip this local favorite and opt for Dennys.
Beautiful, airy coffee shop with a fun lofted area with tables in the back. Staff was so sweet and the breakfast burrito and cappuccino were great. I would definitely return!
I have never had a bad experience here. All of the food is fresh and delicious. I love the atmosphere and staff.
Excellent little breakfast and sandwich shop. Quick access from 68. Really enjoyed the grilled veggies as an alternate to potato chips!
We have always loved the food here but the service has gone HORRIBLY downhill. They are not clear on how long takeout will take, frequently mess up call in orders, even when repeatedly told that an ingredient not be used, and not at all apologetic or helpful after the fact. I usually never review as I know how hard food service is, especially in these challenging times, but this is absurd. At least be kind when you do make a mistake.
The service and food were both outstanding
Walked down from the Ramada for breakfast Sunday morning. Very friendly staff and great breakfast. We ordered and sat outside and they brought our food out pretty quickly. Highly recommend.
I don’t even drink coffee, but it’s the best coffee I’ve ever tasted! Great muffins and breakfast sandwiches. I love that the teas are individually scooped into environmentally friendly tea bags.
Great breakfast spot. Croque Monsieur was right on point and the staff were a bright spot on a rainy Monday. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.
This is a great little cafe/breakfast spot in Cumberland, I stopped in while bikepacking from Pittsburgh to DC and got the french toast and bacon. Great price and got a lot of food for the money. I would recommend a stop while in Cumberland!
Great Breakfast. Crab soup was excellent. Really great coffee, too. Brisk walk around Downtown Cumberland topped it off. The makings of a wonderful morning during these strange and subdued times.
First time! Great food, coffee and environment. I’ll be going back.
Ordered an omelet. The worst I ever had. It was cold on the ends and barely warm in the middle. I ordered right after the person with me but waited 15 minutes and still had to wait while they got silverware. Silverware is not set on the tables so they know they have to bring it to you. Wont go back
Fun little coffee shop on Baltimore street.
Amazing Im from out of town but next time Im in town I will definitely come back here
A great place to grab a cup of coffee! Awesome location too, for window shopping or just strolling around the downtown area.
Absolutely Love Rhe Food !!
Quick, efficient, and friendly. easy walk in the city center. Plentiful seating. Descriptive ordering
Cute cafe with a great vanilla latte
Awesome breakfast burrito and coffee
Friendly people and good coffee!!
Excellent!! My husband and I absolutely loved the food!
Great food, coffee drinks, and overall atmosphere. Cafe Mark has that cozy coffee shop/diner feel. I walk in and I feel like im walking into my own kitchen on a rainy Sunday. Theres even a little library nook in the top left so that you can eat or work in peace if you chose to.
Been here multiple times before. Haven’t been in awhile. I miss their cheese danish. It’s the best. Hope they still have it. Need to go soon.
Great coffee and breakfast!!
Great coffee and food. Never had a bad meal here and the coffee is always fresh. Price point is about the same as the other coffee shops near it. Never had to wait too long for my food and the staff is always friendly. Would highly recommend.
My absolutely favorite coffee place in Western Maryland, go often enough and they will recognize you and are super friendly. The best food and coffee, great customer service and small town vibe. Love, love, love Cafe Mark!
Decent food reasonable prices great enviroment
Cute place I like it. On the second floor there was a couch where others was sitting drinking coffee and reading books. They have board games on a shelf up there as well. Seems like a nice place. I was there for breakfast and ordered breakfast 37 which was 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, and 1 slice of toast (cut in half). Price was good. But I wish there was just a little more food to it. Maybe another piece of toast or some hashbrowns or something. It wasnt much. Barely a snack dispite it sounding like a lot. It was confusing for me as a tourist and non local when I entered. I didnt know if I was supposed to just sit. Or if they seat us or what. Both of my first guesses was wrong. Halfway down the counter on the left you make your order, they give you a number sta d and you sit they bring it too you.
If you like good fresh made soups and sandwiches, this is the place. Oh, lots of speciality coffees.
Quality upsacle coffee and breakfast destination.
Wow. My new favorite place! It’s a little pricey in my opinion but the breakfast food is great and the coffee is great! Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful as well AND the atmosphere is super comfy/relaxing. 5 stars!
