Jamar was my cashier tonight. This young man was greeting customers, helping with heavy cart items, and bagging for a line full of guests on his own! (With a smile.) Promote him! This store needs his kind of positivity.

My go to Kroger when I’m visiting my boyfriend who lives in Covington. It’s close to his place and convenient. It’s small and kinda ghetto but the employees are nice and helpful. They ask if you need help finding something. They always have deals on everything.

Always love K and their brand of products. Great quality and amazing taste.

If you look up what time theyre open it specifically says 6 a.m. I am here as of 6/16/2021 6:03 a.m. A very nicely dressed man was walking up as I was at 6 a.m but one of the lady who works there, who let the man in on her way out, simply told me they do not open until 7! What a waste of gas and time. If it says online opens at 6 a.m but told not til 7 a m like you guys need to update your times online and get it together for real.

I’m extremely disappointed with the conditions at my local Kroger. I typically bypass this location in favor of a further Kroger (or Aldi), but my small trips to this store made out of convenience have been traumatic… no exaggeration. I visited in May of 2020 and witnessed a mouse run into plain sight. I called and spoke to store management because we were in the height of COVID and I didn’t want to discuss face to face. I was advised that the store was working closely with corporate to manage the problem and it was a high priority. On the small trips I made after that I observed frequent puddles of water in the produce and dairy sections. Makeshift doors in the freezer section, and completely filthy floors and trash throughout the store. Yesterday I saw a dead mouse in a trap. I know the goal is to catch the mice but if I can see it, someone else can too who has the power to dispose of it. I’m also disappointed that Kroger has digital coupon prices prominently displayed, but no way for people without digital devices to upload the coupons. Kroger could spring for a kiosk or something to create equity in working class neighborhoods. I also think the buy 5 save $5 are discriminatory. One can’t take advantage of sale prices if they don’t have the money to buy multiple items. I emailed Kroger to express these concerns and my request appeared to fall on deaf ears because I received a generic email response. Kroger has some amazing stores, and some - like this one - that they clearly have given up on. The people of Covington deserve better!!

I stopped by this location quickly and asked a question of a young gentleman, later identified as Andrew, in the produce department. His positive demeanor during a simple conversation struck me so that I called to compliment him. It was a breath of fresh air to speak with a young person who maintained eye contact and actually seemed to be engaged in speaking. It was a positive note in the day.

Kroger is often the only option, but I cringe every time Im forced to be here. The employees are hateful and rude, like they hate working there. Ive overheard them complaining about work conditions and pay several times while Im there. Curbside started fine but its a joke now. Just a terrible shopping experience from start to finish.

I do a lot of my shopping at the Newport Kroger. When I do pass by there to pick up a few items, I like going there. I like smaller stores bc I feel less anxious. The employees are friendly and I think it’s a nice, clean and fast check out store.

I went to make Instacart this morning and I finished my order at 7:30 I was told I had to wait until 8 am because no one could take care of me that bad ( Covington , Ky)

Friendly customer service... kind of small, but the shelves are fully stocked and the overall store is clean. Wish they had more of a selection though.

So I’m making this review for my dad. We stopped in on the way back home to Michigan. He went to the bathroom and it was Feces all over the toilet and floor and it was terrible, I watched him tell the manager and he said, “ umm no I didn’t know, but we got to find a plunger.” Smh terrible

It was normal as usual. Not long wait in line but it was early.

I think they are over priced on most items and had a bad experience with their vegetables once and have never bought from them since.

Kroger has always been a great place to go to, wither that be cheap or good. Its a great balance between both of them.

Covington needs this Kroger in the Community. It serves a lot of people. Very convenient.. BUT its Dated.. Smells very bad.. Basic selection of food items.. I ONLY go to this location for an item or two and thats because I forgot something from another location.. Just my opinion.

This store is so bad with past date items on the shelf, it is disgusting. This meat is black and over a month past the use date. Buyer beware.This meat is still here 8/21/19 past date by TWO months!!!

Madison Kroger sucks for shopping... The self checkout did not credit me for all my items. Then at that last time I purchase the kiosk malfunctioned the lady couldnt figure it out. So I had to have all my groceriesitemized again in the checkout line. It took me 40 minutes just to make my purchases.The older lady that does the kiosk checkouts is a person that is snappy with the customers.. regardless just about every time I go there I have trouble some way or another.Its the worst Krogers that Ive been to. The only thing I can say thats good is that its close to my house.The guys at work behind the deli spend more time playing than they do working.You have got to watch dairy product dates.

The Covington Krogers need to learn customer service skills from the latonia krogers except for the exception of a couple of really nice employees at covington shi is one Adam and one other young man that is a manager otherwise the rest of the store acts like u are doing them a favor

This Kroger is great in the fact that it has courteous employees & is small enough that a quick trip is truly a quick trip. Unfortunately is more like a glorified corner store than a supermarket. It doesnt have a lot of specialty items like butcher services or an abundant selection of produce items, but it does have everything that you NEED for general purposes. Unfortunately one of my biggest complaints when I go to this Kroger (this complaint is totally out of Krogers hands by the way) is the customers inability to understand grocery store etiquette. i.e. dont let your children run around the grocery store unattended, dont block the entire aisle with your cart, & watch where you are going.

Its getting better, but it still has a way to go. We are within walking distance but still prefer to go to a different Kroger over this one. We really only go to this Kroger when we need something in a pinch.

I absolutely love this Krogers location. Has everything I could possibly need, reasonable prices (with Kroger card) and competitive gas prices. Always helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly associates as well.

I love that kroger gives our youth such great job opportunities. I love our Covington Kroger. Many friendly kids work here. Very polite. Respectful. Many know their shoppers and are very assisting to our elderly! Pleasant experiences. Sometimes crazy packed but very convenient. I get my groceries, household items, prescriptions, bakery, deli, and many other products there, lots if deals and savings.

I live right down the street and dont go here. This Kroger is dirty. I understand when stores are in certain locations this is bound to happen, but Kroger usually seems to be impervious to this. I would love it if this place wasnt such a displeasure to go to because it is so very close to me.

Most of the staff are very kind and friendly but the company obviously bases their inventory off of the location. Nicer neighborhoods have fresher produce and a wider variety to choose from. In other words they dont care about people who have lower incomes

The employees were extremely rude. Did nothing but give attitude and dirty looks. Youd be better off going to the Latonia Kroger.

Convenient. Good selection. However there were 18 carts in the parking lot at 150.00 to 200.00 a piece not brought inside before close yet 4 employees were able to hang out at the last register and play with there cell phones. Who pays for the carts?????

This is a fine smaller Kroger. It took some time to get accustomed to the lack of a dozen options for everything but, once I got used to it, Ive found it nice to not have to be a marathon runner to go shopping.

I love my ghetto Kroger! They may not be as big as the other krogers buuuuut the staff is sweet and very helpful and the store stays clean and organized! They have awesome prices, and a cozy environment.

Nice store, need to do something about the people standing around asking to use others personal things. It is ANNOYING being stopped everytime I shop to be asked if someone I dont know can borrow my glasses, change, a ride etc. CLEAN IT UP! I come to shop not to be harassed.

This is where my lovely wife works, The store is great , however its in a ruff neighborhood.So you should be aware of the types of customers. Its every day someone overdosing,or caught shoplifting.So use care when entering lot & store....

Stood in line at the customer service desk for 25 minutes or longer. I was second in line. The cashier kept eyeballing me and was rude. No apologies for the wait or anything. I could have left and went to Walmart but its out of my way and I was ready to get home. Now I will just go out of my way for better service.

Covington Krogers, or Krogetto as I have heard it coined, is without a doubt the worst of any Kroger I have ever been in. When it comes to cleanliness, available stock (especially produce and meats) and offering the same sales as the other stores, they always come up short. They take advantage of the lower income by charging higher prices. Living just a few blocks north of it, I only use it for convenient items. My major shopping is done in Newport.

One of the worst...hardly any healthy options. Organic produce is limited. Organic everything else is almost non-existent. Not one bread option that doesnt contain soybean or vegetable oil. Same for condiments. I only shop here if Im really desperate. Selection is dismal. I know many folks who refer to this location as ghetto Krogers because of the poor product selection and the plethora of cigarette smokers outside the front door.

This Kroger location is very convenient to me since I cant drive long distances and this store is only about 4 to 5 minutes away. Always good prices.

This store used to be really dirty and it had a bad smell. But since they did the upgrades the store is brighter, cleaner and smells so much better. The only complaint I have is of the people who work at the service desk are very rude.

I love how quickly you can get through this store. They have all the basics, lunch meat, hot chicken, and a few surprises too.

Not what it used to be. I enjoyed coming here in the 1980s, but now its like going to Aleppo. Its the only store Ive ever been to where an armed cop was the security. That should tell you how bad the neighborhood is. Always keep your car doors locked, and make sure your kids are at your side while you shop. Too many crazies running around.

I took my grandmother in here today as she lives nearby this specific location. While we were standing at the pharmacy I noticed a lady light up a cigarette in the produce section and walk right past the customer service desk and nonchalantly out the front door while she was puffing away on that cigarette and nothing was said to her. She even stopped at one point and stood there with it for a couple seconds. There were several people in the produce section and quite a few workers at the customer service desk. I was just dumbfounded that nobody said a word to this woman. I know we were not the only ones that notice this as you couldnt miss the cloud of smoke and you couldnt not smell it. Now the rest of the workers around the store were very friendly. But that I just could not get past. If you choose to smoke by all means go for it. But to do it in a store and the establishment not say anything about it was just, wow!

Gotta go 5 stars for my local K. This place has upped its game since the renovations. Doesnt have the biggest selection but its easy in and out. Great managers special selection. Gets crowded at the beginning of the month. You will grow old waiting at the deli counter. They have a number counter, but no one uses it.

I have been shopping at this Kroger in Covington, Kentucky, for 5 1/2 years and have saved lots of money and gotten lots of wholesome organic products over time. Very friendly and fast service overall. I could party with these people. Haha just kidding but maybe thats just because I dont party!

There is nothing wrong with anyone who works at this location. All are friendly and eager to help, expecially when it comes to bagging groceries. The Kroger company needs to fix this store itself. I feel like the appearance of it really brings down the neighborhood. If you did not live in the area you would think you were shopping in the ghetto. However, the area is actually relatively safe to walk around in and although there is still improvements to be made in and around Covington it is up and coming and this company needs to remodel its store and offer the residents there what it offers in other locations. Im shopping in Newport till it gets fixed.
