While I understand staffing is challenging right now, customer service should never be compromised. A simple acknowledgement of a customer who is waiting is a good start. Even though inventory might be low, it is never a good thing to tell a customer you have no idea when an item will be back in stock. Offer to call another store. I will be doing business online now.

Let me preface this by saying I dislike clothes shopping. So when I walked into Von Maur needing a dress to wear as a guest at a wedding, I was expecting the worst. Imagine my surprise when I found the dress sales rack 10 from the door I walked in, found six to try on in my size, and liked four of them! Then I walked to the shoe department and found a pair of sandals to go with them. Happy and done in an hour, and I didnt break the bank!

Always excellent customer service in every department. Dressing rooms are open. Stores are clean and spotless. My granddaughter and I always look at the sales racks first. Great discounts. Great quality merchandise and various price points. Great store to buy baby gifts.

While I was able to find what I went in for, the customer service was poor. It was obvious that we needed help, but the employee did not come to help us; we had to wait until he came out and ask him for help. All employees that I saw were wearing masks, but the customers were not, so I do not consider this to be a covid safe establishment. I still made a purchase there, but definitely wont return until the pandemic is well over.

I have been shopping at Von Maur for over 20 years. Lately the service staff has not been as attentive to detail as in the past. For example, after a demonstration of a cosmetic product the sales rep rang up and placed a different item in my bag.Von Maur no longer carries Lacome products any more. Also, they will no longer ship items to the store for pick up, only to your home.

The workers were very helpful and courteous. They helped me pick out what I wanted, went above and beyond by going out of their way to get a box, tissues and gift wrap!

I have been shopping at Von Maur since I was a teenager. I cant remember ever having a bad experience there. I even worked there for a period of time during college. Even though their return policies have become more restricted recently they are still very generous. The general attitude of treating shoppers as guests rather than customers definitely makes the place feel very welcoming. When many other department stores seem to have lowered their standards regarding staff and the quality of products they carry Von Maur has always remained at the top.

My daughter and i have shopped in the Coralville store twice the past 2 weeks. The 2 people working in the juniors department were not helpful, did not greet us or even say hi. They were to wrapped up in their conversation to help us. Im sorry but when you are spending over a $100 for 2 items both trips, you could be a little more helpful and pleasant. I am only giving 3 stars due to help from Kismet in the make up section. She pointed us to face masks and was very helpful!

In a world full of online shopping, I have to give credit to this place, although the prices are a little steep at times, they have great sales racks. Plus, they carry high-quality goods and the customer service is amazing! They usually have someone to play piano in the background, and plenty of staff to help you find what you need, prepared with proper recommendations. I often go shopping here with my daughter, who is 2 yrs old right now, and they are so nice to her even though she can be a troublesome toddler at times. Highly recommend!

GO SANTA - They have the best FREE Santa photos in Iowa City for sure. Gorgeous tree and a Santa who doesnt strike terror into children. As for mens clothes they had a lot of the brands and styles I like. Cant really comment on womens. As the River Landing area builds up they should get busier but never seem to be crowded now.

Many stores have forgotten the importance of good customer service. Von Maur is not one of these! Their employees are always so courteous and helpful. I love that they have free wrapping and will even mail your gift for you at no charge! An especially big shout-out to Bethany for her excellent care.

Very helpful and knowledgeable. Only thing we parked on East side of building in handicap parking and the concrete was so broken up and loose that I almost tripped and fell. My sons cane got caught between the concrete and surface plate and he almost fell.(He has a prosthetic leg).

Wonderful woman in the Childrens Dept that has been there forever(20 years) that knows how to take excellent care of customers! Love to buy my gifts there.

Great sale racks with great brands! The new Ella line has some cute tees and other athleisure wear with partial donation of sales going to save the elephants foundation. Nice to have this place here. Makes shopping a pleasant experience, with very helpful sales associates.

Von Maur is exceptional...no matter the location. I shop there two days a week, on specific days when they do first mark downs and then further mark downs. I always make sure to stop in the gifts department to check their sale rack so I can have gifts ready to go in case I need one. They have free gift wrapping and free shipping (day of purchse only) to anywhere in the continental US. I dont know anywhere else that does this (beyond Amazon, but you must pay a subscription for free shipping). Every store employee is just as helpful as the next. I have never had anything short of exceptional and wonderful experiences inside of ANY Von Maur store.

Von Maur is a high end retail store. I went there to buy mens clothing (suits and sport coats). Gwen, the sales lady did a great job of understanding what I wanted and helped me find workable choices for my needs.

Always nice to visit Von Maur. Besides nice clothing good atmosphere inside the store also reminds you that Iowa still didnt lost their manners ,hospitality along with Iowa charm. Keep up the good work Von Maur.👏🏻👏🏻

Buying a baby gift for friends. Found just what I wanted. Had great service and they boxed and wrapped the gift for free.

I had a problem with a rude sales associate in the shoe department, so I wrote an e-mail to customer service because this has never happened to me. They called immediately and were so helpful with the situation and even gave me a discount on the shoes. The discount was very nice but I mostly wanted to contact customer service because I wanted to know the Policy for the situation and I have never had this experience before. Truly amazed with their customer service.

Love store the sales associates and all the kindness throughout store. My grandmother used to take me downtown Davenport to shop at von maurs when I was very small. It was wonderful then and remains a great shopping experience. Loved the piano players also. Keokuk Iowa citizens should make it a place to visit and shop.

Nothing special to say here for mens clothing. There are a few good deals here and there. Wish this von maur had a better selection of mens shoes to choose from for both regular and clearance priced selections. Overall it is a very nice location off the interstate with plenty of parking and located close to several other shops and places to eat.

I hadnt gone to a von maur in a while, since the location is now in coralville, it is closer to me when I run errands and such. Its still a very nice store, I docked 2 stars bc of one lady made me feel somewhat not welcome, she had asked if I needed help, which I didnt at the time, then when I needed help to find out a price, she says, well here the price for the smaller of the two... and proceeds to ask, is this for you or a little gift for someone else?I give an extra star for the associates towards the end of my transaction, a lady chatted with me about the mens knick knack tables and all the goodies one could indulge in for hours. And the closing associate, he was not pushy, inquired very well if some items were gifts or gifts for self? And ever so subtly, suggested the benefits of a von maur card
