On the day of my scheduled delivery I was concerned that my mulch may not arrive on the date requested because it had not arrived by about 4 pm. When I called to inquire, the person who answered the phone could not have been nicer. I appreciated the way she handled the call. The mulch did arrive on the scheduled day, but later in the evening. It was obvious that the driver had been busy all day/night delivering mulch. What I appreciated the most is that the driver was very friendly and had a great attitude. I expected him to a bit grouchy having to work later in the evening, but he was great. I wish I would have asked his name so I could publicly recognize him. I can say that he had lots of red, curly hair so . . . if you know who this is, please tell him that I think he is doing a great job.

I became the customer from hell accidentally. I had to postpone a delivery of top soil four times. It went from autumn to spring. Ohio Mulch was completely understanding. While they were dealing with semi truck loads of deliveries and in coming, they made time on one of their busiest weekends of the year (the driver said I was his 27th delivery of the day) to bring my half of dump truck of top soil. And they did so with a smile. The best.

I ordered a delivery of mulch 3 weeks prior to the delivery date. I had scheduled landscapers for the day after the delivery to spread the mulch. Ohio Mulch confirmed my delivery on 4 separate interactions from the day before throughout the planned delivery day, but never delivered. The following day, when I called to speak to a manager about the problem, I was told it was “on the truck” and then the lady let the statement slip “as soon as the truck gets back from the mechanic shop” (clearly nothing was ‘on the truck). After FINALLY going through a major headache, they delivered mulch that was ROTTEN and unusable! When speaking to them about that problem, they admitted they had run out of mulch and decided to “scrape together what they could find” just to complete the order. UNBELIEVABLE. I had to reschedule landscapers twice until they finally delivered decent mulch from a store who had inventory after 3 days of headaches, 6 phone calls to escalate, and having to refuse the junk they initially tried to send me.Furthermore, all of the landscapers I talked to warned me that they would NEVER use Ohio Mulch, as they are known for misrepresenting things and being a general problem. They were right. I will NEVER use them in the future, ever again, and neither should you!

Very disappointed. First they tell me I cant get sod there because they dont carry it. Then they tell me I can order it and have it delivered. Thats what I wanted anyway. I ask for a morning delivery, now its 3:30 and still no sod. I call and they say there is no guarantee when it gets delivered, its all about how it gets loaded on the truck. I asked them to call the driver for an eta. They said they would call me right back. An hour and a half later, no call back, still no sod. There has to be other places that carry sod...go there.

They have all the mulch that you need. Unfortunately they run out of stock fairly quickly. The service is good. They’ll help load your order into your car. But I would like to see a little more help in the store to help decide what to get.

Part of my order was not delivered. A manager from this location showed up at my home and tried to tell me that what was clearly mulch was topsoil, as well as numerous other issues. I have had no resolution from the company and although I was told my issue would be sent to the regional manager, Ron Frost, and was given his phone number he has ignored my calls and has not attempted to reach out to me.My full complaint is available on the BBB website and I have begun the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company. Avoid at all costs.

One of the most frustrating retail delivery experiences I have ever had! I ordered bulk topsoil through the web on Wednesday for delivery on Saturday, with a forecast of good weather for the whole weekend. Waited all day Saturday, knowing it might not come until the end of the day. Called late in the day and was assured it would be delivered, the employee even joked if it takes until midnight. No delivery! Called Sunday when they opened and was told they dont normally deliver on Sunday but the CEO was actually making deliveries. Once again, assured me it would be delivered. Another call at the end of the day, another assurance of delivery. NO DELIVERY! Monday morning, stayed home from work to resolve this problem. Forecast of rain in the afternoon. After 2 more calls finally got delivery at around 11:30.The only positive thing I can say is the truck driver was friendly and courteous. He said they had a truck breakdown over the weekend. I only wish one of the many people I talked to had mentioned that, instead of giving me assurances they could not keep. There is nothing more frustrating than being told something will happen and it doesnt.I busted my ass to move part of the 3 cubic yards of dirt before the rain started. The rest sits under a tarp in my driveway taunting me. BTW, not once was I offered any sort of discount for the trouble.

DO NOT BUY MULCH HERE. I ordered 100 bags to be delivered the next weekend. No mulch delivered. Called the store and overheard one employee telling another that nobody got their deliveries that Friday or Saturday. I was then told by the first employee that I would get my delivery that day. No delivery that day. I call the store the next morning (Sunday), and am told that there are no deliveries that day. I then ask to speak to a manager and am put on hold for 10 minutes, then the phone disconnects. I then call back and am put on hold automatically for 10 minutes, then the call goes to voicemail and disconnects. So we go to the store, wait in line. While in line I see an employee overcharge another customer and then say she cannot fix it so he has to wait for a manager. I get to the front of the line and ask for a refund of my undelivered mulch. I am told that the employee cannot do that. I ask who can. She says the manager. I ask for her to get the manager. She SAYS NO. I say can you call him. She SAYS NO. She says he is outside and she cannot get him or contact him to come in (despite the fact that she is the only employee in the store and there are 15 people in line). I then ASK FOR A PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE MANAGER SO I CAN GO OUTSIDE AND FIND HIM MYSELF. I find him, get him to come in. He tells me he is sorry about my experience, but the delivery system for Ohio Mulch is THE MOST UNORGANIZED SYSTEM HE HAS EVER SEEN. He says that he is TIRED OF LYING TO CUSTOMERS, and that he cannot tell me IF I WILL GET MY DELIVERY.In the end, I did get my refund. But its been a while since Ive had such a bad retail experience.

If you are thinking about ordering online, or purchasing in person and having them deliver, dont do it. Even if the prices are better than another place. Dont. Just dont. Theyll screw it up somehow.I ordered mulch in March, for a May delivery, it wasnt delivered when it was supposed to be. It never would have been delivered if I hadnt gone chasing after them. I had to make numerous calls to resolve the issue, spending almost two hours on the phone in total. I ultimately asked for a refund on the delivery fee directly from the Director of Retail Sales for Ohio Mulch. His communication skills were so poor, that I eventually gave up, because I didnt want to play phone tag with him, or spend any more time on the phone.Their whole operation is a big pile of FAIL.Totals:Calls to Ohio Mulch: 5 (not including times I hung up and redialed after getting stuck on hold)Time spent on the phone with Ohio Mulch: 1 hour 52 minutes (almost all of it on hold)Days late with total delivery: 4Calls back from managers: 0E-Mails back in reply: 0 (not including from Rob Frost)

Went back for our last load to finish a job and after waiting 30 minutes they tell us were not getting loaded till they unload two of the semis that just pulled in. They have a full parking lot and 15 other people were waiting in here. When we asked how long they got rude and told us it could be 1 hour or 3?!?!?! If your looking to do business with someone that values their customers go elsewhere....

Product is good, price as well. However, delivery was incomplete. They indicated they would bring the rest and waive the delivery charge. They didnt do either one. Had to call multiple times, past around several times. It took three weeks to get it right. BE THERE FOR THE DELIVERY - and get and keep names if there is a problem.

Do not buy mulch from this place and expect it to be delivered on time. We have used the service in the past , which was a fair product and a good price, but even then not on time. Customer service on first phone call was friendly, however. needless to say the order I placed was going to be delivered with in 10 day of the order placed, and this did not happen. I called the Riverside number and was transferred around to several locations until I spoke to someone. Once connected to a person I was told that it would be deliver with in one day of the phone call. Again this did not happen and I have an event in two days for mothers day. Needless to say, I do not have my mulch and if i have it delivered today, I only have one day to complete the job. Shame on them!

Really having a bad experience with Ohio Mulch. I ordered mulch online on April 30, 2018 and of course paid for it. Delivery was supposed to be on May 5, 2018. No mulch was delivered. On May 7th we called the corporate office and were told they would have to look into it and would call us back the next day. No one did. We called on May 9th and were told our order never was allocated for delivery. That would be delivering it on May 16, 2018 and refunding our delivery charge. Still no mulch and no refund. My husband went to the store and was told deliveries are running behind. The mulch will be delivered tomorrow. To summarize orders and PAID 2 and a half weeks ago, NO mulch. Very unhappy with the company and lack of customer service and caring on the part of Ohio Mulch.

Update 2: Ron Frost apparently sucks too. Can’t get ahold of anyone still. I got his “personal number” but it goes to voicemail. He gave me the “personal number” of the lady in charge of delivery... it goes to voicemail and her voicemail is full. They just suck. What can I say! I called AMEX and am having them help now.Update: Ron Frost actually called me direct and they are fixing everything, waving delivery. Changed review, as I can appreciate this is their busy Season, and I have mass respect for business who can recognize a mistake and fix it... will update more when I have an update.THEY STILL OWE ME MONEY!My experience was (has been and still is) AWFUL! They have ZERO ability to deal with hiccups in their orders!!!They owe me almost $400 still in refunds and no one will talk to about it, might as well be calling overseas for computer help.I ordered 20 pieces of sod and 40 bags of mulch online and selected the delivery. The day it was supposed to get delivered I called to find out when and was assured it was coming that day.I got a call that I had to order 60 pieces of sod. So I had them bill me for the rest. Then they tell me they can’t deliver that day, and they’ll call with a new delivery date. They never call. I call back to get delivery info and I am told my order was actually in for 20 pieces of sod and 80 bags of mulch.At this point I’m fed up so I tell them to cancel them both. They said they did.The next day a truck shows up with 60 pieces of Sod and 40 bags of mulch. I sent them away. But now looked at my credit card and they only refunded $172... WHICH ISN’T CLOSE TO THE TOTAL.At this point I’m just trying to get my money back. No one at their office will handle this... hitting up BBB next... and this review is going everywhere else. I’ll update if and when they fix it. But at this point they’ve basically stolen money from me.

I have ordered from Ohio Mulch for several years. I usually order bulk, as I did this year. I ordered a type of mulch that I have ordered before, but this year it was very different in color and texture and not at all what I wanted. I called to complain. They did explain that they used a different supplier, but made no attempt to rectify the situation or reimburse me. I have already identified the alternative I will use next year.

Good pricing but the forklift operator refused to load my vehicle. I have a half ton truck capable of the load but was told it would be unsafe. As I was hand loading my purchase he placed a skid on the very next customers half ton truck.

The worst. I cannot state it any clearer.....(is there an option for “negative stars”??) I placed an online order for my son’s graduation party.I placed an online order for 50 bags of your 3 cf mulch on June 9th. Delivery was made perfectly (thank you) but after my sons were close to being finished, they called me to say that they were 3/4 of the way finished and were about to run out of mulch- after I looked at the discarded bags of mulch I noticed that these were 2cf bags and not 3cf. You all had shipped the correct qty and type but the wrong volume and I was billed for the 3cf price ($100 difference).I called the local Dublin store closest to me, explained the problem but was told I would have to call or email every store to find out who shipped it to me since it was not the Dublin store. That was an unacceptable answer especially since I had 150 people arriving in 24hrs at my house for a grad party! I asked for her supervisor and spoke to Walter. After explaining the situation ( I also requested enough bags to finish the job and we would determine the difference in $’s and settle up), Walter said that he would place me on hold and come up with a solution. He came back on and explained that their store did not have this in stock and that he would call me back when he tracked it down. 2 hours went by and I called your corporate location to track down Walter’s contact info- I was given his cell number by a gentlemen there and I called Walter a coup,le times for a status and a request to call me back. No call from Walter. Replied a week later to the email confirmation I got regarding my order. Nothing.Calls...emails...nothing....The party went on with the beds half mulched (not a great look) and I still have heard nothing.Then I get an email asking me how my customer experience was with you....Ha Ha Ha HaOutcome: Ohio Mulch $100 richer - me $100 poorer and my yard still isn’t finished....- looking forward to Mr. Mulch next year! I should never have switched.....

Go somewhere else. I ordered mulch online and the wrong order showed up 3 days late. No phone call or knock on the door just 2 giant scoops of the wrong mulch right in front of my garage door blocking my cars. They didn’t pick up the wrong order for 3 more days. The correct order showed up almost 6 days after my promised date after daily phone calls and a trip to the store.

Delivery experience was awful. Communicated verbally and in writing to dump the product under a tree beside a pile of wood, beside the driveway. Mulch was dumped in front of garage so I was unable to access with my car for a month. Manager Matt, was combative and defensive about the issue and refused to credit the fee of delivery. Jones Topsoil will be my choice from here on.
