These guys are great! I had been looking for a left handed guitar for my son and they said they could flip over any guitar for me. So instead of talking me into buying new, they flipped over a guitar we already had in the family.

I have had a great experience here. Two of my kids take lessons and both love their instructors who are friendly and professional. Shop owner helped me get the right instrument for my family even though it meant sending me somewhere else. Amazing service and great business.

***UPDATE: I was generous in my initial review to chalk things up to confusion, but this shop owner’s response has committed lie after lie to black and white... They unconditionally told me they were certified to perform warranty work and stated that the delay was due to them communicating with Fender. The first question I asked was are the authorized to do Fender Warranty work. They said yes without qualification. They never instructed me to call Fender- I did that to verify things after Eds story kept changing. I never knew if it was warranty work or not- in fact I suggested that it was probably an internal fuse which wouldnt be (which a competent tech at another shop has already confirmed in one day) I have nothing to gain from this review. I wasnt even upset, just disappointed and hoped to help other musicians avoid the same. Review dropped to one star. This guy has decided to just tell objective lie after objective lie. Im very sympathetic to the position the modern music shop faces and try to patronize and give them a break, but this shop has just fallen short and then gone beyond that by lying in this response. Avoid if you value the truth and a business that has any honor.** Ive dropped things off on two separate occasions, both resulting in me just picking it back up and taking it elsewhere a week or two later. I first brought a guitar in for a basic setup and was told it would take about 3-4 days. Nearly two weeks later it still hadnt been touched, so I picked it up and took it somewhere else that got it done in 3 days. I recently took in an amp for repair work. I dropped it off and was told that they were an authorized Fender amp warranty service shop. Fender seems to disagree. When I dropped it off I was told the tech would call me the following Tuesday to let me know if the repair looked like warranty work or not. Tuesday came and went with no call. No biggie- not ideal, but no biggie. I called the next day before lunch and was told the amp was on the bench and that the tech would call within the hour. Four hours later, no calI, so I call back and am told that the tech hasnt looked at it because hes submitted it to Fender to see if its covered by warranty... this is odd, as it not only wasnt what I was told before, but they didnt have my proof of purchase, nor did they know if the nature of the repair was covered by warranty, as they hadnt inspected it. They said Fender took a long time to make warranty determinations so it would be a while. Having dealt with Fender on past issues, this was not my experience at all. At this point my suspicions were raised and I just called Fender myself, who told me that this shop would not be authorized to do warranty work because they were not a certified Fender amp repair shop. Fender directed me to a shop in Jefferson City that was the closest authorized warranty servicer. Huh....?So I went in to get my amp and found that it literally had not been touched. I have no idea what is going on here but its been an issue of them not communicating like they said they would, not delivering on time, wasting my time, and whatever this confusion on their status as a warranty shop for Fender is. Its just a headache. I am originally from STL and cannot express how much I miss Fazios Fret and Friends. Never had a single headache or confusion there. Just professionals that do what they say theyre going to do, they do it well, and with a smile. While this shop hasnt met the first two on either of my visits, the guy at Show Me has always been friendly when feeding me lines, which is why Im giving a second star.

I took in a new P-Bass as it would not intonate or hold tune properly. After the adjustments were complete I tested in the shop and the tuning still would not hold and was actually worse …..totally unplayable for any gigs. A red flag went up when I was told ‘I have never seen this before’.I then took it to a well respected luthier in St Louis I used in the past and as soon as he opened the case he said, ‘the saddles are so mis-aligned that this bass will never hold a tune’. He performed a total set-up including properly adjusting the saddles/intonation, pick-ups, neck and nut-filing and it is now perfectly set-up similar to my other bases. The guys that run ’Show-Me Guitars’ are nice and all and did not charge me but then again I wouldn’t pay a mechanic if I took my car in and he made it worse. I tried them based on a shorter commute /reviews but will stick with my guy regardless of the inconvenience of driving to St. Louis.
