Have used Sage for oil changes in the past, and after several positive trips and good conversations with the staff, decided to use them to diagnose and fix a parasitic leak to my electrical system that caused the battery to die after a day or two. The found the circuit and replaced a defective door switch. Problem solved. These guys are great to work with and very reasonably priced, I highly recommend them.

Im from Wisconsin, and was visiting my dad in Columbia Heights when the Jeep wouldnt start. I actually had the jeep packed up, with the kids and dogs inside, got in and it wouldnt start. Had it towed to sage auto. They diagnosed it and had it fixed and ready to go in just a few hours! I was so incredibly grateful, and we made it home on time for work.

Called to get a quote for pads and rotors on my car, and Caleb told me they won’t quote prices. Interesting concept for a business to not want to quote a brake job. Clearly they don’t need the work, not will I bring my car to someone who won’t give a quote. Zero stars.It’s not a guess if you know what you’re doing- nor is it counterintuitive.

I tried them out because theyre nearby and they had a Groupon for an oil change. The waiting room is the best. Wifi comfy chairs free beverages and best of all no fumes from tires.I have a “shade tree mechanic” in the family who does quite a few repairs but I had a serious issue with alternator or something that would make the car stall while driving. I didnt want to wait so when it got started I drove right over there.There was a bit of wait since I had no appt but it was pleasant waiting and a huge relief to have it done right away.I recommended to my sister who is getting fed up with Firestone.

I first visited Sage about a year ago. I went to get a quote on fixing my AC (something I didn’t end up getting done), but the service and price drove me to return for different services. They’re always honest with you and never try and oversell you on anything. I’ve gotten multiple oil changes, control arms replaced, and my brakes done at Sage and I’ve always been satisfied with everything. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, plus, the lobby has some nice comfy couches and free drinks making for a pleasant experience if you choose to wait. Another thing I appreciate, as someone who works long hours, is the ability to text them rather than having to call about services. I definitely recommend Sage if you are in the area (or even a little further). My car is now over 250,000 miles and still running great thanks to these guys!

I know sage auto repair service Ive been coming here for quite some time I will not let anyone else work on my car due to they are very trustworthy and very honest they will tell you what needs to be fix whats not important they pay very close detail to your vehicle they told me my tabs were expired which I can appreciate that due to I forgot to put my tabs on last month the quality of service you get here is truly amazing they are truly a blessing from God because anywhere else would take advantage of a woman and have you stressed out leaving wondering how are you going to come up with the money to get this fixed theyre very patient when it comes to answering any questions and well explain to you and to you understand I dont understand why they have bad reviews because they are very respectful the place is very clean I hate that they had to take holy Spirit sign off the window but Minnesota laws!... The inside of the shop was very comforting, they go above and beyond to make your wait as best as possible.Service: Synthetic Oil Change, Tire Rotation & Belt replacementI originally only came in for an oil change until the front desk gentleman told me my belt is cracking, i asked if they had time today to fix it and he said they did. I wasnt expecting to stay there until closing time but the auto repairmen were Having difficulty with the timing belt so we had to call in the owner of the shop to come help. Explained by the front desk.I had to wait 2 hours until close until my vehicle was done. I originally left the shop very pleased with how welcoming and personable the business was. I had my service done 2 weeks ago and immediately as I was leaving the shop I felt a difference in my acceleration.I took a look under and saw a big chunk of metal chipped off a pipe inside the belt system.By now Im just extremely frustrated because not only did I end up staying for 2 hours, now my engine isnt performing normal and my belt system is damaged.I just want honesty and ownership for this. I wish someone would have told me that same day before I left rather than finding out about it 2 weeks later trying to see why my engine wasnt working the same.

I’m disappointed because I made a switch to Sage as a result of their high praise and recommendations. I came in for a suspension diagnostic, and ultimately paid to replace a tie rod and control arm. Through this, the staff was friendly and informative. I have no doubt they know what their doing, but upon payment and driving away with my car the wheels were exceptionally misaligned. It’s understandable that they don’t do alignments in-house, but it’s kind of expected if they are replacing tie-rods. At the very least I would have appreciated a heads up. Instead I have to spend additional time scheduling an alignment elsewhere, and hope my tires don’t wear too severely in the meantime. To me it shows a poor attention to detail and a waste of time, which is a bummer because they seemed like a reputable shop.

Patrick at the front desk was great. He went through what they found on my car by item, good and bad, and answered every question that I had. I felt like he gave me good and honest advice. I will definitely be a return customer!

Sage Auto Repair has been one of the best experiences that I’ve had in years. As a female, I am always concerned with the stereotype of repair shops trying to swindle their female customers, simply because we typically don’t know any better. That was far from true with Sage Auto. Patrick was very informative and helpful, he was patient with my questions, and I am still baffled at how quickly they worked. Here I thought I would be leaving my car over the weekend, instead he had it finished in only a couple hours. I will absolutely refer all my local friends and family to Sage Auto, without hesitation.

In retrospect and after reading other reviews, Ill say this. They are very professional and friendly but every time I took my car in for one thing, at least two to three other issues were found which led to expensive visits. This last time the fix affected the alignment on my car and I am told that they cant do alignments so I have to go elsewhere. Seems to me if you offer compete car care and if you fix something on a car that is going to affect the cars alignment, you would take responsibility for the complete fix. This has completely undermined my trust in them.

Purchased a Groupon for an oil change and had wonderful service. The owner was pleasant and communicative, the space was inviting (coffee, bottled water, and soda available, lots of comfortable seating), and I felt good about the experience when I left. I spent extra on a rotation and new filter as well. I know the filter can be a scam at some places but I trusted them and boy am I glad. I got in my car and turned my ac on and my car was freezing on the lowest level. I normally have to have it at the highlest level for my car to cool down!Edit: I arrived half an hour early and was seen pretty quickly and the service time commiserated with the work that was done.I hate to add this but in our current climate Id be remiss if I didnt note that as a woman of color...I never once felt awkward or unwelcome here and will be coming back for future services when needed.Thanks for the great service.

Tried to charge me $800 for a water pump on my truck, Crazy right!!! That’s not even the bad part, told me because it’s a conversion van and wanted me to finance in which would be nice if they didn’t overcharged. Went down 2 blocks to another shop $350 for the job, please come back Sage I think lots of you customers agree that things are not the same.

I dropped my car off because my battery light was on. They tested my battery and alternator and gave me a quote for the alternator replacement, which I did along with an oil change and tire rotation. The service was professional, quick and a good price; they called me right away when it was done. Couldn’t ask for anything more! Will definitely be back.

I took my vehicle here today and had an excellent experience. The owner and staff greeted me and got my car in and taken care of right away. The price was good, and service excellent. On top of that they were in the process of updating their waiting area which was comfortable but I am excited for the changes they are planning to make. I was able to sit comfortably, access their WIFI and get work done while I waited. Id highly recommend them and will be going back.

Doesnt care about individual customers or circumstances.Not impressed. Left my car unlocked, put seatbelt behind my seat and parked it behind the building when I didnt want to get it fixed there right away here. Wont be going back after years of business as mentioned. You would think they would treat someone thats gone there for years a little better than average customer but no. No exceptions.

For five or so years I have been bringing all of my vehicles here. They’ve plugged tires and rebuilt my rear brakes and even replaced a blown head gasket for me. I know how to work on cars, but don’t have a shop to work in, so I send the bigs things to them. Never once have they ever suggested any repair or anything that sounded even remotely sketchy. I really like these guys. They’re very honest, very friendly, very fair in pricing, and they do great work. I couldn’t ask for a better shop, and I confidently refer friends to them.

If you’re a young woman worried about being taken advantage of and overcharged, even getting an oil change feels daunting. The team at sage didn’t do that at all. I felt comfortable, and what did need to be fixed on my car was explained to me clearly and they were transparent about the price. Will be back as long as I live in the twin cities!

I had a bad tire and went in to see if it could be patched up. Turns out it was too worn out to be patched, but they happened to have a replacement tire in the shop and took care of me right away in addition to my oil change. Quick, fair, and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Where did the $10 oil changes go???? I went in for a oil change a few months ago and was slapped with them having new managment and no longer offer the $10 oil change. Would have been nice if they told customers they were changing everything over. I will be shopping around for my oil changes now.

I followed a gut instinct & called @ 5pm on a Monday ( they close @ 6pm) to see if they would put my new battery in for me. They are so kind & had me come right in. They wanted to take care of it (me) right away knowing another cold spell was coming.I had bought a battery that is physically a little smaller than the original as no one had the correct one for my 2013 Outback. Patrick talked with me to make sure I knew this prior to installing.Honest. Great customer service.Highly recommend.They filled up my tires as a bonus .

Avoid at all costs. I brought my car in for a $12 oil change and ended up being forced to borrow money from a friend to pay an unauthorized $500 repair bill. Heres the more detailed version which I wrote up on Yelp:I went to Sages at the recommendation of a friend, who told me about their famously inexpensive oil changes. While my car was in the shop, Sages called to let me know one of the parts in my shock absorber / spring needed replacing. They quoted a range of $250-300 for the repair. I couldnt afford it (I was living paycheck-to-paycheck), but they said it was necessary, so I decided to use my emergency credit card when it came time to pay the bill. I agreed, assuming it would be $300 at most.When it was time to pick the car up, they handed me a $500 bill. I felt alarmed, and then had a sinking feeling in my chest/stomach. Looking over the bill, it was clear they had not done any additional repairs to warrant the extra $200-250. They made it seem like this was totally normal, and that the original quote was just an estimate.I knew I didnt have $500 and felt embarrassed. I asked if they could send me an invoice or bill in the mail, because I did not have $500 at the time. They said, No, we dont do that. You have to pay now if you want your car. I couldnt believe it.In over 20 years of driving, every other mechanic Ive been to has CALLED first BEFORE doing expensive repairs that went over the original quote. But Sages just went ahead and charged me nearly DOUBLE, without my permission, and wouldnt release my car.I asked them to wait a minute while I figured something out. I knew I had less than $400 in available credit on my emergency card, so I looked through my wallet, pretending to look for another form of payment (even though I knew I had none). Eventually I had to ask a friend to loan me $125 to pay the remainder of the bill, at which point I took my car and left.Ive never written a 1-star review for a business before. I realize everyone has good days and bad days, and everyone makes mistakes. But after seeing several other negative reviews on Yelp with almost the EXACT SAME complaints, I realized what happened to me was not just a freak incident, but perhaps a pattern of unethical business practices.I strongly recommend people look elsewhere for honest car care.

A good place to get your oil changed

In a span of nine months I dropped $1,053.03 on brake lines. I would strongly suggest You not have work done here.Last june I took My truck to sage auto to replace a brake line. The brake line directly under the driver seat was leaking,after looking at it they ball park me around $ 300.00 to replace it.I get a call later saying the other side line is now leaking , go figure. Im already locked in as I already paid $167.12 for a tow there, so I agree.The total for that visit ended up costing Me $755.24Fast forward 9 mouths and my brakes are now mushy,I cant stop anymore.My brakes didnt feel that bad the first time they went down.I return to sage because I felt this would fall under theyre warranty. They come back with more brake lines that need to be replaced, I left with another bill of $297.00You know that feeling You get after paying for something that will keep You safe. That at least You can say I feel safe and got a decent deal...I never got/had that feeling. Im fearful my brakes will fail again, and not on a quiet street. Ill will never go back,even if it falls under their warranty.

They checked it out, gave me a quote to get it working and, most importantly to me, resolve the loud buzzing and vibration the car was making while driving.The manager gave it a glowing recommendation and I went on my way, feeling Id done my due diligence in assuring that I could afford the car and the repairs to get it into working order.I purchased the car and brought it in for the repairs. When I went to pick it up the next morning I was told it was quiet and running great.Not so. I turned the car on and it was rumbling loudly. I went back inside and talked to the manager. He told me I was right, it needed new engine mounts. Thatd be another $3-350. I was furious.I purchased the car after their inspection and quote with the explicit understanding that the $1000+ I paid them would resolve the issue that makes it un-driveable.I tried to drive it for a week but consistently got so ill from the vibrations and overwhelmed by the noise I went back to sharing a car with my roommate.A week later, I contacted Terry (manager) and told him. He said hed talk to the owner.I ended up calling and talking to Patrick who suggested I spend more money there to resolve the issue I paid to already have resolved.I am extremely skeptical of their work and am in the process of taking it to another mechanic to see if, indeed, any of the repairs I paid for were done at all.Even if they were, not a single one of them had a positive affect on the main issue I asked to be investigated and quoted to resolved.I will not be back to this business, I do not recommend it in the least.Edit, in response to the owner:I have spent $3,000+ at this shop in less than 3 years, more than I have paid to any other single business in the span of my life. To my mind, this service was not free, but paid for in loyalty and a considerable sum of money. I asked for a paid inspection and was told you didnt offer one.I was not informed of the unacceptably careless nature of such an inspection, and had I been offered that information I would not have taken such a glowing recommendation with any weight at all. Indeed, I would have sought an inspection elsewhere.You offered a quote to solve a shaking and vibration issue for $1000, which I paid, and then discovered that you missed the real issue. The reality is that that a quick google search from a layperson like myself can diagnose as engine mounts to be the likely issue. That tells me that your actions fall into the realm of negligence, and there are consumer rights in place to protect people like myself from people and businesses like your own.I will continue to seek reparations through these means, as your offer is laughable.My car runs worse having had the hands of you and your mechanics inside of it. I do not trust you to touch a vehicle I own and carry my body and the bodies of those I care for inside of. Youve proven yourself to be untrustworthy in the business realm and unwilling to step up to take accountability for your actions.

Slow I was the first appointment in the morning and it took over 50 minutes just for an oil change and then they pointed out that my gas line is leaking which I knew of and told me it was going to be over 700.00 to fix.They told me it is so expensive because you have to buy the kit from GM and thats a lie.I received another estimate considerably cheaper and also found the kit I needed myself for 300.00 cheaper than GM.I went because they do have cheaper oil changes than you can do yourself.
