Honestly the best eye doctor I’ve ever had. They have a big staff so they run efficiently and quickly, they’re all knowledgeable and helpful, and the doctor is so calm and personable. Really impressed with the service and I felt very taken care of and my time was respected. My family and I will be going back for sure.

This is my second year with Powers Eye Center and I absolutely love it here!! I was able to do most of the required paperwork ahead of time, so check-in was quick and easy. They are also taking extra precautions due to COVID, and all of their eye testing equipment was clean and sanitized. This made me feel quite comfortable. I would highly recommend Powers Eye Center to anyone in need of an exam.Also, I did not purchase glasses there but it did look like they had quite a variety to choose from.

Great experience! The VA set up the appointment, Power’s Eye Center did the rest.Dr. McAllister was very thorough and explained everything to me in term my caregiver and myself could comprehend.To my amazement, he has the most up to date equipment I’ve seen.After testing he showed me my eyes on a big vertical monitor screen (something I’ve never experienced at the big father eye clinic nor the military clinics world-wide)!Upon picking up my prescription, the Optician carefully presented my new glasses, very, very courteously (rare these days), explained the care and cleaning instructions and told me if I have a problem with them to bring them back without hesitation.My last pair, purchased from a competitor had broken after less than a year (top of the line Oakley’s) and I had her fix them for me. She did such an excellent job repairing them that I felt like I walked out with 2 new pairs of glasses instead of one.I gave 5 STARS, justifiably so, due in fact that after wearing glasses many years, having experienced Civilian, Military and Veteran ophthalmology clinics, Power’s Eye Center, hands down, is the BEST eye care I’ve ever had!Highly recommend!

I have been looking all over for a new optometrist and found one here. I have never met a more professional staff in any other place than the people that work here. After I checked in Rachel made me feel right at home and treated me the kindness and respect and answered all my questions that she could and found the answers she didn’t know. Everyone that works here has the highest level of professionalism I have ever seen, and will always go the extra mile to help you.

My husband has been a satisfied customer of Powers Eye Center for over four years, so when I needed a pair of prescription glasses, I knew where I wanted to go. I made an appointment, had a pleasant eye exam with the friendly staff, and was assured that I would receive my glasses in 2 weeks. After waiting 11 day’s I decided to call for an ETA on my glasses. I was told that the original lenses had a defect and needed to be replaced and that I would not get my glasses for another week. At this point, I was becoming frustrated, I had just started on-line classes and needed my lenses, but there was not much I could do so I waited patiently. At the end of the week I received a call from one of the office staff telling me that they had no ETA on when I would receive my glasses and asked if I wanted a refund. At this point I was upset, I spent $600, waited close to a month only to be told that they did not know when I would receive my glasses.Upon agreeing to the refund, I was told that I would have to wait until Monday and pay a restocking fee. After being told I would be responsible for a restocking fee, I became exasperated. I told the employee I was not paying a fee, and I would be in Monday morning with my Credit Card to get my refund. After about 5 minutes I received a call from Karl with the Powers Eye Center. He advised me that I could receive my refund over the phone because SEVERAL of the office staff felt “threatened” by me and that he is going to call the police. I was upset and confused because I made no threats, used no profanity, and was at my home some 20 miles away. I am simply a disappointed customer. Disgusted by Karl’s comment, I told him I would have my Caucasian husband take care of the refund, so he and his staff would no longer have to agonize over their feeling “Threatened” by my dark complexion and ethnic name. If you are a person of color, I would think twice before considering Powers Eye Center.

Once we found Dr. McAllister we never searched again for another doctor. He is very patient and knowledgeable, answers all my questions. The staff is also so friendly and always inform me of all my options.

My experience was simple and easy. I made an appointment online, which was efficient and straightforward. The building was clean and pretty easy to locate. The staff was polite and accommodating, as well as the Doctor. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer my bizarre questions. Best place to get an eye exam ever! I have seen many optometrists over the years. After seeing Dr. McAllister I will never see another optometrist again! He is the kindest doctor I have ever met & very thorough in his examinations. The office staff are also super friendly & helpful. They always make sure to get me the best deal possible on my glasses and contacts. If you are still on the fence about whether or not to go to Powers Eye Center, I would say give it a try, you definitely wont be disappointed!

I had such a wonderful experience with this place and Dr. McAllister. I filled out some paperwork and didnt have to wait long at all to get the examination process going. Everyone was so professional and made sure I knew what was going on. I purchased some glasses and every base was covered as far as cost and things like that went without having to ask questions. Dr. McAllister is very kind and detailed. This is the place to go. I will come here for all things eyeballs! You should do the same!

I have been with Dr. McAllister for years. Everyone in the office is super friendly. Felicia, the manager, is amazing and always goes above and beyond. I always feel like I am getting a better eye exam here over other places. They have up to date tech! That is truly important to me when it comes to my eyes. Always getting my eyeballs seeing as sharp as can be.I moved to California but whenever I fly back to the springs to visit my mom I always make it in to them for my yearly check up!Their new office is fantastic and highly convenient, right off Powers and Tutt (up and coming area). Ive been seeing (ha) Dr. McAllister for years and am never disappointed. He communicates well and is very knowledgeable. He is always ready to offer several options that will work for both your eyes and your budget, and his new facility is beautiful. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. One of the techs, (I forgot her name, Im sorry!), took all of the guessing and stress out of picking the right lenses for my glasses. My prescription is absolutely horrible, and glasses never stay on my face because the lenses are so heavy. She knew exactly what would work best for the lenses I wear and was funny, to boot.

Went in for contact exam. Dr. McAllister was friendly and didn’t make me feel rushed. Staff was super sweet! Appointment was quick and still thorough.

The best!Ive been seeing optometrists since 1987, and Dr. McAllister is the first doctor to diagnose me with keratoconus, and to treat it successfully, giving me 20/20 vision for the first time in almost 30 years. He has always been accommodating, caring, and polite, and truly prioritizes his patients. Felicia is also wonderful to work with. I love this office! Totally worth the drive across town!

**Update: Thanks to Dr McAllister for personally calling to hear about my concerns. Super kind of you and I appreciated it.I had my first ever eye exam yesterday. The assistant who completed the various exams with me was nice and welcoming. When I met with the doctor, he was polite as well. I shared with both that it was my first time getting my eyes checked and was curious and confused about all of this eye stuff. Also, I had no clue what I was looking at (when looking at my retina scans) besides obviously my eyes. The doctor didnt initiate explaining anything to me about what was tested, the retina scans, or even my actual vision abilities (20/20 or whatever). He simply stated something I already knew about my left eye being weaker (hence why I went in) and proceeded with checking different lenses in a professional manner. The appt was fine, but left things pretty flat and confusing about how my overall vision was and such. When asking for my prescription, we received some push back simply because we wanted to look at the offices and other locations options for frames/lens. The doctor continued being polite but there was definite tension. In addition, he didnt shake my hand when meeting or departing, which added to the awkwardness and left me feeling a bit unwelcome. Im hoping my experience was because I was the last patient and he had a long day or something... trying to think the best. All in all, I wont be returning and hope others dont have a similar experience.

This most recent trip, the staff went out of their way to order the pair of glasses I really wanted straight from the manufacturer even though they dont carry that model. They have the latest tech to check your eyes, great prices, they take my insurance, and most of all excellent customer service.

We almost never wanted to go back but he won our business back. Thank you for the call Dr. McAllister!I had made an appointment for my husband through their online booking system. No issues, super user friendly. His appointment was confirmed no problems. Then a few hours before his appointment, the office cancels his appointment stating they don’t take Anthem (which it states on their website they do) and my husband told them he was fine paying cash BUT they still sent him to LensCrafters! Seriously?! If we wanted to go to LenCrafters we would have made an appointment at LensCrafters! We have gone to Dr. McAllister in the past and loved him! He is the reason we wanted to go to Powers Eye Center. That was totally unprofessional and frustrating! We even had received a postcard reminding us to get a check up, so that’s what prompted the appointment in the first place and they ended up senting us away! I am literally in shock of this business!

I have been a patient of Dr. McAllister for years, and have followed him to several locations. He is knowledgeable, friendly and very patient. My 9-month-old daughter was with me during my visit, and he was great with her. The new office is clean, spacious and organized. I always look forward to seeing the staff, all of which are super friendly and helpful. They will make sure you get the best deal possible, and check your insurance thoroughly. You cant beat the prices!!! My husband has Keratoconus, and Dr. McAllister is helping him too! I have nothing bad to say about Powers Eye Center. The best in the business!

I had been seeing commercials regarding digital eye exams as being much more comprehensive than the traditional methods being used in office. I know I need corrective wear and to be honest the last year has been the most I had personally strived to wear glasses about 40% of the time meh :/ I chose not to keep them on due to what felt like straining, so when the digital mapping advertisements popped on I came to my aha, moment until that is I found out the corporate chain was linked to an office in Denver. UHMMM no thanks. So today fresh with my FSA card my aha, moment starts creeping into my google fingers where I search; Digital eye exam colorado springs...Aha, Powers eye center... This website was brimming with the juicy details of what I had been fascinated with; The digital eye exam. The online booking tool (a plus) showed plenty of avail. AND they accepted my eye insurance as well as plenty of other ins. I noticed. They had avail. for as soon as tomorrow but I had to strive for today and so I called... I was greeted by a friendly office staff member whom put me in same day. I completed the downloadable form to minimize the grueling task of sit write and wait. I showed up, signed off on a few other routine docs. and was taken back for the prelim. eye tests as well as the famous digital eye scan(a few nominal out of pocket not covered by ins. bucks).From there I was in the exam room where I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. McAllister, whom with due to the graces of technology advances performed my minimally invasive lens comparison procedure. We spent more time looking at the digital scope of my lovely eyeballs and I learned a few facts. I suggest and hope he reads this; get a patient portal setup so patients can view the images and as an added incentive, share good word of mouth this way. After the eye exam l was directed to gather some frames I liked. She sat me down and captured digital photos of me wearing my selections then proceeded to educate me on the Sizing matters, factor. The lens ordering and payment process went smoothly. Overall I loved this place. The office staff members added a touch of class to my exam & shopping experience. The digital method of an eye examination should be standard procedure, it really means an accurate prescription, Turn my 40% to an 80%...:) Highly reccomended facility.

Nice, new, spacious, and convenient facility for Dr. McAllister and his friendly and helpful staff. Much less sales pressure than in the previous Luxottica corporate location. Rest assured, they still accept the EyeMed insurance from the Luxottica corporation.
