On the morning I was to leave for vacation I got a flat tire on my Jeep Wrangler. I decided to call Tuffy because they are close to where I live and was hoping they could help me with a last minute patch/repair. Nick Trapp went above and beyond to squeeze me into their schedule that day and then exceeded my expectations when he called within a short time to tell me although the tire was damaged beyond repair they put the full size spare on at no charge to get me on my way. I have since brought another vehicle in for service and was very impressed with their customer oriented service and honesty when addressing the options for repair. I had two great experiences here and would definitely recommend Tuffy for service / repairs.

Nick is awesome , a great listener and full of info. Has tackled two of my cars A/C issues. Replaced pads and rotors on my daughters car. All great work for a reasonable price.

Nick is the greatest! I walked in moments after they opened with a problem of my brakes making a strange sound. Nick got me right in, inspected the brakes, and even showed me exactly what was wrong before getting right to work replacing them. On top of that, he was able to fix the A/C for me after several other mechanics had told me it would be $300-1200 to replace the blower motor. Nick ran the diagnostics, refilled my Freon, and had my car blowing freezing cold air in a few minutes. All of this was done after I had walked in unannounced. This Tuffy and Nick will be my go-to for all of my automotive needs from now on!

Brakes were grinding, stopped in for free inspection and quote. Nick was very professional about explaining what needed to be done to fix my vehicle. I asked if I could get my vehicle in since I was already their, he said no problem. He said service would take an hour to hour and a half to complete. It was done within 1 hour. Im very happy with Tuffy and the work they preformed. Lifetime customer for sure. Thanks Tuffy

I can not explain in words the honesty of this group, they went above and beyond. After leaving town and limping my car into a dealership they later called me back to tell me their was a major leak and needed everything short of a new engine. After calling the guys at Tuffy in Clive for a second opinion I decided to have it towed to them, and glad I did. They were straight forward with me and not only saved me thousands in repairs but were extremely helpful while I was out of town for a week (btw there were no leaks). My car was ready when I got back and running like a top. Thank you guys for your honesty and professionalism it’s truly a breath of fresh air now a days.

I suspected an oil leak and went in for a check up. They found no problems and did not charge me anything for the check up. Brandon was very helpful and answered a few questions i had. It’s a good place to visit to get car problems fixed.

Got an oil change but noticed a nail on drive in. They checked it out but couldn’t fix it due to location of damage. They offered to overfill tire to help me get to next place but I was concerned with length of drive and had a kid in tow so then offered to put the donut on. Appreciated the extra effort will be back.

Really great experience with Brandon at Tuffy! I called in with a last-minute request for a pre-sale inspection on a vehicle I was strongly considering buying. He didnt hesitate to get me in, even though I know that is hard for busy shops. This, in itself, was amazing to me. The technician was open on noticed issues and they didnt hesitate to let me come back and take a look at the under-side of the vehicle and see exactly what they were noticing. Brandon made my day by being accommodating and friendly!

This morning I woke up believing I’d find an Uber/Lyft to pick me up at my appointment with Tuffy. NOT the case if you live out west apparently hahaha.So, out of kindness and generosity from the owner, he gladly drove me a few miles home. We made great small talk on the way and had similar past experiences! He asks me “you gonna need a ride back”? Yup!Wouldn’t you know it, he picked me back up and I got my truck back at a decent time. I love the work done but moreover I appreciate the kindness and generosity shown to me and I highly recommend Tuffy’s in Clive to all who need repair or regular maintenance on their vehicles.

My car had some problem with the gas pedal. I walked in and they took me in almost last minute. They got it done in less than half an hour. I asked if the manager could walk me through a little bit of technical details of the problem and he did. He was friendly and professional. I had a good experience at this shop. Purchased a used car for the kids for school. Took it to a couple of places to identify what it might need. Brandon and team took the time to identify really only what needed to be done for the car to be safe and running well. These guys are great! Other shops wanted to charge $115+ just to take a look at my Civic. I thought the blower motor needed replaced. Turned out another shop recently replaced the in cabin air filter when I had the oil changed. They did a terrible job. Junk was dropped down against the blower and a couple weeks later the fan started making a rumbling noise. Tuffy pulled the blower motor figured this out and cleaned it all up at no cost to me! They just won my business for all future repairs. Good work guys! Thank you!!

Brandon was extremely helpful,knowledgeable, and friendly.I took my car here after not being happy with what the dealership said and charged.They diagnosed the problem correctly on a master cylinder needing replaced versus the entire ABS system and that fixed the issue I was having plus saved me $800. Very glad I decided to come here.

Originally, they had to cancel my oil change. But they went above and beyond to make sure that I got my appointment rescheduled and that I was happy.

One of the worst Ive experienced. the manager fishes sround to figure out how much they can overcharge you. they twist things around and say things that I really not true in proper contacts. I took my vehicle it to another shop theyre not trust able.

I just had my battery die at a very inconvenient time, but a very convenient location as I could just walk over and ask for help. Brandon got me quickly taken care of and back to the rest of my day and while I was waiting for the new battery to be installed, I got to witness Brandons incredible knowledge about another customers issue and his compassionate handling of their untimely car problem. Until today, Ive not really had a preferred provider of car repair and maintenance issues - I just bounce around to whatever is most convenient for the particular day - but I now have a #1 go to. Showed up on a sat with wifes van that had wiper problems,and met a gentleman named Robert early that morning. I told him about the issue and asked him if he was booked for the day he said he would check and see. As I went inside I noticed shop was clean, bays were clean ECT. He said he had an opening so he took me in not having an appointment. I met the mechanic and the other manager, and they were very professional and knowledgeable about the problem that I was having. befor I knew it he told me I was finished, and gave me the bill. Prices were great. Attitude was professional and service was outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone I know that needs a repair or car advice in the future as for myself. First time I went there, we were in the middle of moving from out of state, so as far as they knew we were never going to show up again. Theyre over half an hour from the house we were buying, so *I* didnt expect to show up again.We had A Funny Sound and needed an oil change; they did NOT upsell me, told me things to have looked at in a few months that might become problems but didnt need anything right now, and made sure I got the coupon price for the oil change even though I hadnt had a coupon.They earned our return and continuing business.

I walked in on Saturday without an appointment because my oil change light was on, Brandon was my service manager. I was greeted by immediate professionalism from him, and felt taken care of every step of the way. He addressed a strange noise I was hearing in my engine as well, and was extremely thorough with every aspect of my vehicle from start to finish. He even test drove my car afterwards to make sure the noise was cleared up. I felt that safety was a priority for him, and I highly recommend requesting this gentleman because you will be in good hands.

Out of this world customer service! I know that I can always count on Tuffys in Clive to get me in and work with my schedule as I usually seem to call last minute. This morning during a blizzard my windshield wiper broke while cleaning off my car. I thought I would swing over there real quickly to get it fixed because I really had no idea how to fix it. Rand went above and beyond to not only service my car, but also help me when my car was stuck in the parking lot. I truly appreciate their service and their prices. I needed service on my Nissan Altima sedan, and the only place Ive been to previously in the Des Moines area was Hummels Nissan - I was looking for alternative reliable options for service. Searching online I stumbled upon Tuffy Auto Center Clive. After reading through previous reviews and experiences from previous customers, I decided to give them a try. Despite being Christmas Eve, they still were able to work me in to service struts, brake pads, rotors, and sway bar link on my car. I even mentioned about the radiator leaking and they said they would do a check on that as well. Overall very professional and reliable service. 3 techs stayed additional time to make sure everything was done including identifying the radiator issue and completing all additional services on Christmas Eve by noon despite me coming in the previous day at 4 pm. They even replaced the left side marker bulb that had gone out. Everything they had done to the car was explained thoroughly before actual service so no inconvenient surprises. If you are looking for a reasonable and professional place to get any kind of services done on your vehicles, check out this place. 100% recommend!

It was really clean and the front desk person was nice. The issue I have is when the mechanic came in he made a remark about Utah (we have Utah plates) and when I got into my car there was something sticky all over the steering wheel and the info button on our car and the main screen had been changed. Not sure if it was nessecary for him to do is job but I think he just wanted to see the car technical aspects because its a brand new car. Also, the sticky stuff was all over the windshield where the oil change sticker is. I loved how clean it was but dont think well be back.

Hands down the best place in town to get your car worked on. They are always great to work with and made us aware of service issues that were going on with our Nissan. Shawn truely cares about his customers and is always honest about what needs done and the cost that it would take. Because of this, I am a customer for life!

I used to reccomend this location as their service was always good & prices were competitive. I bought a new car with a warranty and free service in 17 so I havent been there in a while. Today I stopped in for a tire patch on my way to work. As per usual, they got me right in. I didnt think to ask ahead of time, but was SHOCKED when I was charged almost $50, yes ALMOST FIFTY DOLLARS- FOR A TIRE PATCH. NOT A TIRE, JUST A PATCH ON MY OLD, JUNKY 3 YEAR OLD TIRE THAT IM REPLACING AT TAX TIME. I felt like that was kind of high, so I asked and called around for prices at other places, including another Tuffy before posting this review. My fears were confirmed, I paid WAY too much. I wont be back, and I certainly wont buy their coupon books this year for my famil or friends.

Brandon service manager stayed to help me with my car even tho they were closed it’s 5:32pm he should of been home with his family but he decided to help me and me back on the road I recommend everyone to come hear with any issues they will get you where you need to go appreciate Brandon for helping me and getting me back on the road after he helped me with my car

Im highly disappointed in the service I received on September 8, 2017. I came to the Clive Tuffy Service Center on the 1st to get my oil changed with a coupon packet that I had purchased for about $45. The first oil change was to be free. I paid $35 more for premium oil. Fine. Service was friendly and good though. So, then I scheduled my alignment to be done on the 8th. I get to my appointment and they tell me the alignment is fine (its been pulling to the right for awhile now, but they blamed the tire pressure-which was within range and equal in the front), but come look at this he says...SUDDENLY, my water pump is leaking antifreeze and pretty rapidly too! I had been running errands all day and had just stopped at home for a few minutes, as well. At none of these stops was there antifreeze under my car. And I could clearly smell it now, not before. Then he tells me itll be $579 to fix it. My car was COMPLETELY fine, except the alignment when I got there. And they didnt fix that either. I called my regular mechanic to get a quote on the water pump~$250!! And because I had the nerve to question how this happened, he pulled my car out and refused to fix anything! Seriously?!! Just because Im a woman doesnt mean I dont know anything about cars, and Im VERY aware of any noises, smells or fluids that would show up under my car BEFORE I took it to the Clive Tuffy Service Center. There werent any! So I guess the rest of the coupons go to waste because I will not take my business back to someone who tries to scam me!! In addition to all of this, my mechanic told me I was a quart low on the premium oil I paid for just a week ago!! Charge me extra and then short me the proper amount of oil!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

They have always explained what needed done and why and asked for approval before proceeding. Im very pleased with the work they have done for me.

I brought in my car to fix a weird noise my wiper was making. They quickly diagnosed it and ordered the part and it was fixed in just a few days. Everyone there was very helpful and knew what they were doing. A lot of places beat around the bush and say this and that. The people here did not and I would recommend this place to anyone.

My hood would not close anymore, brought my car to Tuffy, they took it right away, fixed it in less than 20min and did not even have to pay anything! Very great service!
