This cafe is a credit to the town of Clinton and brings honor to the local population. Housed in an adorning former lumber mill with high ceilings and rustic wood beams, the building itself is one of the most impressive locations for a cafe you’re likely to find anywhere up or down Route 66 from the California border all the way up to Chicago (trust me, I know). The seating is ample and comfortably spaced out, the people kind, and they have a monstera plant as impressively tall and robust as the whole operation is quaintly satisfying to frequent as a customer. The drive through is unique and cool given it’s robustly shaded and bordering an old brick wall of the mill, and all in all this coffee shop is a gem for conversation, studying, or work. The pastries were good, and the breakfast burrito was decent. All that being said, my one critique would be the coffee itself. Yes, I read the origin story how one friend opened the shop and the other got into roasting, but truth be told the coffee is very bad and it’s not just the beans that are burnt if the owners think the brew they’re doling out is anything shy of horrible. Too acidic yet also acrid, the coffee’s bad flavor and digestibility is nothing more than merely, barely, tolerable. It’s legitimately bad coffee. You’d do yourself a favor to stop by and visit this quaint cafe; the owners would be doing the community (and their business) a favor to drop their current roaster and offer a whole new provider of beans. Location and overall experience good, the coffee lacking, you should stop by and stretch your legs if you’re ever within thirty miles of this enterprise, Oklahoma’s best cafe (if almost worst coffee).

Today my husband and I were traveling I-40 and we stopped in for a late lunch. We arrived about 1:20 and knew we would only have a short time with the place closing at 2. We loved the quaint look and thought the food was very good. However we found the staff very unfriendly. We felt very rushed and felt like we were imposing on them to wait on us. They were cleaning and stacking the chairs all around us. This was a unfortunate end to a good lunch.

This was a nice little gem to stop by on our way through the states. I got the mocha Java frappe . One of every flavor cookie and the bacon avocado sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Everything tasted very fresh light and hearty. Perfect little morning or lunch stop for anyone.

We came by this place looking for a nice lunch between Tulsa and Albuquerque. It was exactly what we wanted! Good food (especially the chicken sandwich) in a comfortable, stylish setting.

I Called ahead to place an order first time they didn’t answer. Called back they answered and took my order over the phone said it would take around 20 mins. Then they called me back 2 times randomly for some reason. Got to the place right around 20 minutes after I called took 5 minutes to check me out with no one in line in front of me. I waited another 30 for anything. I walked back to the front to ask for a refund they said my order was forgotten about. Can I give 0 stars since I asked for a refund and never actually made my coffee?

Great little place. Stopped for lunch and coffee on our way through town. Food was very good and their kids options were truly kid friendly but still on par with the calibre of the other food (ie not microwaved easy mac). Restroom clean and has a changing table (my kids are young, I notice these things). Staff very friendly and patient with the kids ordering their own food.

Amazing food and a delicious Chai Latte. Surprised to not see more people. Has a rustic event area and an overall beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend for out of towners like myself! And yes, dine in is open!!!

Amazing sandwiches, delicious soft bread and incredible ingredients. My toddler gobbled her dish up (hard to please toddler) and both I and my husband loved our sandwiches, and desserts and teas. So pleased we stopped here, from decor to music to staff, five stars!

Strayhouse... the name really does suit it! I love the unique atmosphere this place gives off! Sadly I never did get the chance to try a coffee drink, although they looked tasted! The sandwich I did have tho was VERY yummy, and the size of the sandwich, went well with the price!

I came to Oklahoma to visit my friend.. and we stopped in at this very cute coffee shop. It has a great atmosphere to watercolor, color, or even to bring your work. I got a hazelnut vanilla latte and it was absolutely delightful! I highly recommend this place!!

Very good food with healthier choices than your typical sandwich place. The sandwich menu is fairly limited (6 choices), with only one soup choice (soup of the day), since they are really a coffee house (havent had the coffee). However, the choices have unusual and eclectic ingredients. The atmosphere is open and homey with just simple found-wood tables built by the owner himself. I would give a five star except I havent tried coffee and I wish there was more sandwich choices.

I loved everything about this place. excellent coffee and food, it was so fresh and came out hot, i enjoyed every second of it. super cozy inside, and everyone there was so friendly! totally recommend this place, and i hope ill be able to come back someday next time i travel through.

I live in Austin TX, so I have high standards for food - Strayhouse is excellent. Had the blue cheese and pecan salad with roasted shredded sirloin, and it was quite tasty. The beef was a generous portion, scratch made parmesean dressing was good, and the drizzle of sweet balsamic vinegar really rounded out the flavors.Got to taste a pimento something sandwich as well, and it was also good. Next time I want to try the for adults grilled cheese, it has 3 different cheeses in it.Staff was also interactive and really friendly, so overall a great experience! I love local places like this.Cant comment on the coffee, as Im not a coffee drinker.If youre passing through, this would be a great lunch stop.

We have been here twice in about a month. Once for coffee and another time for lunch.First off, the coffee is good and the food is decent. However, both times our ticket was lost and we were forgotten about. We waited over 30 minutes each time.The first time we were given some free cookies and the second time we were completely refunded. The staff was apologetic and friendly.Whatever system they are using to track orders does not work well. It will be quite a while before we try again.

Great place to grab a salad or a sandwich. They have great coffee as well. Havent tried their beer and wine selection yet. They also have an app so you can preorder food and drinks. It has a great atmosphere! Definitely worth checking out!

A plethora of food and drink options await one entering Strayhouse. A beautiful, open floor plan and contemporary setting make this Clinton, OK restaurant and bakery a real diamond in the rough. There are seasonal and occasional menus for food and drink, alcoholic and not, and the staff are kind, helpful, and nice to talk to. Next door to the restaurant area, a souvenir/gift shop is open under the same owners, and between these two establishments is a scenic hall where events like weddings have been hosted in the past. On the north side of the building area, a drive thru window has been constructed, sure to give prompt service to patrons.

They are a newer place but the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions.The food so far upon my visits has been made fresh and served in decent time. The hot teas are wonderful and they have gluten free options.I have really enjoyed the soups and you can call in advance. So you pull in the drive through and your order is already done. If it is not done even there they will answer questions about the establishment.If you are in town or passing through I recommend stopping in.

Location is in an old lumber yard off the main streets. The owners started selling coffee from an old airstream trailer. They now roast the beans on site and have a short but wonderful food menu. Not your average diner fare. Unique sandwiches, soup, breakfast items, pastries, local craft beers and wine. Recently began supper service. I highly recommend it.

The employee who served me was very educated on his coffee.The place was extremely clean, love the rustic look.The coffee was 9/10 would give it a 10 if they had a white chocolate mocha.Definitely worth every penny.

I’m from Phoenix. I understand small towns are not as modernized with higher quality coffee/beverage cafes. However my experience in ordering the chai latte wasn’t the best. It tasted straight like bland almond milk. Hopefully this review will help improve the quality of your business.

Its really hard to find a place now days that truly Cares about the food they serve....This place is amazing! I am a home cook who loves to feed others, everyone who knows me, knows that about me! I am very particular about my food, very finicky. So when I say this place is amazing.....please dont take that statement lightly, because I dont say it lightly! But hey go check it out for yourself!It can at time be alittle pricey, but hey good food usually is and trust me it is well worth it!!

The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I ordered the Gent, shredded sirloin with cheddar, garlic mayo, and tomato drizzled with balsamic glaze. It was incredible! Extremely flavorful, a bit messy, and morefinger lickin good than KFC ever dreamt of being. I will definitely be going back. I also hear they have the best meatloaf sandwich ever made.

Im in town for a short period of time and have found myself going here at least twice a week either for coffee or food. Ive had the spring chick sandwich, its not easy being cheesy, its pimen-to-be and the bacon and bleu, each dish is delicious. The coffee is superb! The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is very welcoming.
