Delicious breakfast sandwiches, delicious cake donuts, delicious everything. Best customer service on the shoreline too, which is so refreshing. Attentive and care about their customers. They like to spoil their first time customers, which I remember from the first time I went there with my kids and husband while we were getting our car repaired, and love seeing them do when they get a new first time customer (extras for free etc). This shows they understand the value of each and every happy customer and makes me want to vote for them with my dollars!

Holy smokes. I had the most amazing donut here but waited to write a review until I went back to make sure. Second time here I tried the egg sandwich. The donuts are all amazing, especially the chocolate and the sour cream. The egg sandwiches are delicious as well, and the staff is extremely friendly. It can get very busy on weekends (a testament to how good it is). I’ve given other 5-star reviews in the past but this one really deserves more.

Love this place. The food is delicious, especially the donuts. The sandwiches are one of a kind there, especially when you put them on the cheese bagels. The new owners is really nice. The wait time is not nearly as long as it used to be. I recommend getting the sign in front of the store fixed however. I go here all the time. It is a little bit $$$ pricy but I have a tradition of going here on weekends. Overall the food is delicious but the prices are high. The prices used to not be as high as they are now when there were different owners. The new owners are nice but they need to make some improvements to the store such as fixing the sign and fixing the pricing of food. Other than that, this is a great breakfast place and I highly recommend the donuts and bagels here for anyone! The coffee is great too!

Been here twice on my vacation, long wait the first time but that was expected since it was Sunday morning & Father’s Day! Their donuts are so yummy & fresh. We especially love the fruity pebble donut! Their iced coffee was pretty good would definitely recommend!

This used to be the best donut shop on the shore; then new ownership took over and the service went downhill, but more importantly the donuts are now skimpy and thin with a huge hole in the center and very little donut. What a disappointment and rip off.

Although the staff was very nice, I unfortunately had a bad experience. They must have forgotten my breakfast sandwich order and after 20 minutes my family finished their donuts so I just asked for my money back. I would have been fine with that, but they tried to quickly make my sandwich and the owner chased me outside and tried to give it to me at not cost. I repeatedly insisted it was too late and I didn’t want it. He made several excuses which I didn’t care for. So what did he do wrong? Well as my family was walking out the door he called me a nasty man. I guess at this point I am because I would have just let it go, but since he made that statement I just had to give him 2 star and write this review.

These are perhaps my second favorite donuts in the world so far, and yes, I’ve had Portland, NYC & Brooklyn donuts, Canadian donuts, German, French and Italian donuts, the list goes on. I’m a bit in love with donuts to be honest. The sour cream beach donuts are completely unlike anything I had tried prior to them. They have this beautiful, crispy outer shell, and the flavor is the perfect amount of slightly sour and sweet. Make no mistake, these are not fluffy donuts, and I appreciate that. Honorable mention at the cherry donuts, which taste very similar to a certain Italian cookie that is a favorite in my house. I consider myself so lucky to live close to these donuts.

We ordered 2 iced coffees, 6 donuts, and a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. The donuts tasted stale like they were made yesterday. My dad ordered the sandwich and he waited for 20 minutes and it didn’t come. He asked for his money back and one of the guys went after him asked him if they could remake it. He said no and the guy called him nasty. These were definitely not the best donuts. They were the 2nd worst donuts I have ever had.

Nicest people ever. They gave us extra donuts for free and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the breakfast burritos and iced coffee. They even went as far as wishing my brothers relationship well and fixed the thing we mis ordered without a thought. The cinnamon donut was amazing if you stick it in the oven for a few seconds.

Were from NYC and the donuts we bought here were of the same or better quality of the boutique donut shops in Manhattan. The difference is a dozen in the city will run you over 40 bucks where we got that same amount here for like 15. We had one that tested like a Shirley temple and honestly it may have been the best donut Ive ever had in my life. So glad we drove out of the way to pop in. They could honestly charge double or triple what we paid and wed still be happy. Everyone behind the counter was super friendly and even have us a free sourcream donut on top of our dozen to try and that was honestly one of the best surprises in the box. Well definitely be coming back here

A quest to find what I think are the best doughnuts in the region, brought me to Beach Donut Shop in Clinton on Sunday, November 19th.For consistency, I always order the same three favorite doughnuts of mine. A powdered jelly, a glazed cruller, and an apple fritter.These are some very good doughnuts. The jelly doughnut was filled with a good quality jelly, was very tasty, but the inside was a little dry, and the doughnut had a rather thick crust, like it had been overcooked somewhat. The same was true of the glazed cruller, but both were really good otherwise.In fairness, that may have been an issue with just that batch, but I can only rate based on my experience here on this day.Now, the good news. The apple fritter was FRIKKIN AWESOME! It was not what Id call a traditional apple fritter thats a large blob of dough with apple bits in it, cooked, and glazed. This one was a smaller blob of dough cooked, and sliced horizontally, filled with a huge amount of diced apples in an apple sauce filling, and dusted with a light coating of powdered sugar. It did not suffer the same dryness and thick crust of the two other doughnuts I tried.The coffee served here is excellent.My high water mark in comparing all these doughnuts is Neils Donuts in Wallingford, and it remains so, by a large margin. But unfortunately, Neils doesnt offer apple fritters, so this one was, by far, the best Ive had to date.The apple fritter alone raised my rating by one star.I understand that doughnut joints, like pizza joints, can bring out some very strong opinions, and this is just mine.My quest will continue......As an aside, Beach Donut very recently opened a second store in Branford.

Decided to stop and grab a surprise for my oldest after his first week back in school but I had his brother with me too. Hes too young for a mask so I called ahead hoping I wouldnt have to settle for drive thru. John was incredibly kind and came outside to take and bring me my order without hesitation. We love this place and thank you so much for making my families weekend with such delicious treats!

The donuts are very good. I called the afternoon before pick up the following morning. I ordered 4 dozen donuts. I arrived at 9:00AM. The order wasnt in boxes yet. It took them 25 minutes. When I got home the orders were wrong and many varieties were not in any of the boxes. I drove 25 miles to get them. The place is a cluster f... and I would not recommend it to anyone. They need management that knows what they are doing.

Donuts were great and so was the service. When they knew we were doing the CT Donut Trail they gave us great recommendations on which donuts we should definitely try and each was delicious.

I was invited to a wedding in Clinton, CT and to say the least, i was very excited. I was excited for the bride and groom, excited for the celebration of love, but most of all I was excited for delicious savory donuts.In fact, I was promised donuts. Three dozen, to be exact, courtesy of Beach Donuts in Clinton.I arrived at the wedding, anxiously but patiently waiting to fill my fat but well shaved and well dressed gullet with delicious donut goo. The clock ticked by.It kept ticking and ticking, and to my dismay, the entire wedding passed without one morsel of donut. The donuts never came.3 dozen donuts- they never arrived. The shop had no explanation. They didn’t even apologize. They were paid for, they were anticipated, but they vanished in the ether.Do not order donuts for a gathering from this location.

Very disappointed in Beach donut, and it’s owners. My sister in law built a donut wall and planned all her wedding desserts around the specialty donuts she ordered with Beach donut. She drove out to CT twice to taste them, choose the flavors she wanted. She ordered dessert menus with the flavors on them, it was going to be absolutely perfect!Fast forward to the day of the wedding... Everything is set up and the venue is waiting on Theodore and beach donuts to deliver the donuts. Nothing comes, no one answers the calls from the event planner, and their Voicemail box is FULL!She has multiple emails with the owner, about the event, and what was expected.. He took zero responsibility for them not being delivered. She had to call him twice the day after the wedding to find out what happened.So instead of the beautiful wedding donut wall she imagined, it was empty... Don’t ever use them for an important day, they clearly don’t care. Disappointed is an understatement!

I am a healthcare worker from the Philadelphia area. My family has a beach house here in westbrook so I’m here for a few days of relaxation away from the health care madness. I want to spoil my 9 year old daughter while we’re here and our first stop this morning was to the Beach Donut Shop for a donut and some coffee. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the owner went out of his way to take the time to make sure my daughter was happy. He was one of the friendliest people I’ve ever encountered, and he made my daughter so happy. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful and they did a fantastic job at keeping everything clean and adhering to the covid rules. On top of it, their donuts and coffee were SO good!! I would highly, highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a good breakfast spot, as well as an enjoyable place to start your morning. We couldn’t have had a better experience :)

As part of a 2020 challenge to find the best donuts in CT, Beach donut shop has jumped into the top 5. As there are quite a few choices in this state this is no small feat. The best of the dozen we tried was the boston creme and pumpkin donuts. The boston creme was the best one to date from any place. The frosting was not overly sweet and the custard was perfect. My coworkers tell me this is also a great place to go for breakfast/coffee. So I will definitely be back prior to my beach days.

These donuts are literal crack. One time I ate 6 of them (they are THAT good). Their breakfast sandwiches are also incredible. Personally I’m not too fond of their coffee, but coffee is a very personal preference kinda thing, so I can see why plenty love it.

New to the area and have been looking for a good spot to grab a breakfast sandwich. I tried a few delis along route 1. I was anything but pleased. 4th or 5th down on my list of places to try was Beach Donut. Wish I had written their name down first. Extremely kind, friendly, and great service. On top of it their sandwiches are to die for. Haven’t tried a donut yet, but I can guarantee by the looks of them you won’t be disappointed.

For years this has been our favorite place for fresh, tasty donuts...something has changed this summer! The dough is an off-putting yellow, eggy color, and the donuts are not as light. We have gone several times over the past couple months (June/July), hoping each time for improvement; alas, this past Saturday we were disappointed yet again. Donuts unlike the ones at your typical donut store. They are tasty, unique flavors and it is hard to stop with just one! We often get a donut when in the area but this time we ordered bagel/egg/bacon sandwiches and hot coffee. Yummo! Definitely a place to stop at when you are in the area but come early, they do run out of donuts and bagels if you arrive later in the morning or afternoon.

Good no-nonsense place with easily the best donuts in the area. Just show up early (typically opens 530am on weekdays) before most of the selection is gone. Side note: try the iced coffee with coffee ice cubes to keep the flavor from diluting. Why dont more places do this?

Beach Donuts did not deliver the 3 dozen donuts we ordered months ago to my wedding yesterday at Chamard Vineyards.I met with Theodore/Ted in person twice at Beach Donuts, tried donuts, picked out what flavors we wanted, and placed our order months ago. I have plenty of emails from the past 6 months in regards to this. They never delivered our donuts and no one was there to answer our calls yesterday when now one showed up. Ive planned this for months and made a donut wall for this.I called first thing this morning and asked for Theodore and was told that he wasnt there and oh, yeah... hes angry at the delivery driver for that. He never called back, so I just did. He picked up and told me he did not know of this and was sorry. Did not have any explanation. Extremely upset, frustrated, and disappointed.I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Wasnt crazy about Beach donut didnt think their coffee was that great. And as far as Donuts go paying someone that fried donuts for a few years I came to the realization when I had a Dylan on it at 10 that they must do one fry early in the morning so if anybody knows a donut once its more than three or four hours old and goes from crispy and delicious to kind of soft in not that great.

Less is more. Donuts were overfilled and too sweet (jelly) for my tastes. Lemon stick had a strange flavor, donut was way too chewy, almost gummy. Wrong sandwich, had to send it back. Pleasant people, beautiful ride.I think they are worth another try though. Over all good variety, very nice staff, prices are ok for the area.

As long as youre close to here you will never want to go to Dunkin again. They dont just have amazing donuts! They have really good coffee and breakfast sandwiches too. Breakfast burrito is one of my favorites.

Definitely the best donuts in the area for miles. Their donut holes are so delicious. If you stop in and see loaded home fries as the special of the day you have to get it. A generous portion of perfectly bite size potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with onion, green peppers, sausage and a touch of cheese, salt and pepper - yum!
