3 places here. The house, the gift shop, and the museum. The house is pretty cool, they let you touch everything and reenact your favorite scenes. The museum is good, kinda lacking in actual props, but have some, they tell why. The gift shop has the movie on loop... Love it.. Glad I went

My family has watched A Christmas Story every year for as long as I can remember. I have always wanted to see the house where it was filmed and this did not disappoint. The tour guides are knowledgeable and make the tour fun and informative! When you go, pick up the phone at the top of the stairs! The museum across the street is full of props from the movie and news clippings from when it was filming in Cleveland. I will go again if I am ever back in town. I took a ton of photos, but I am only sharing 2 here, because it is a must see for yourself experience.

They should be commended for saving the house and turning it into what it is today. You can explore the home without having things roped off with do not touch signs. Obviously the actual movie props are in the museum part, but the house is a great recreation of the one in the movie. Our guide was lively, funny, and knew his facts. The gift shop is neat as well.Hopefully they can get more props from the actual movie as time goes on. They always seem to be building them up.

Super awesome! Just like what you would imagine. The Bumpus house is next door. It is amazing what the camera hides. Family loved it. Though we did not take the tour or rent either to sleep in over night, we did see the leg lamp and we were able to walk around the yard of both. The souvenir shop was a great finish. Lots of stuff to make you laugh like you do when watching the movie. I would stop again if visiting Cleveland again! I triple dog dare you!

Interesting tour of the main house, back yard, and museum across the street. A number of props are available for photos during the tour. The gift shop is located in a different house which offers a good selection of movie items. Wish they had more decoder items. Tons of leg lamp items.FYI, the Bumpass house nextdoor and the Christmas Story house are also B&Bs. The other homes on the street are private residences.

A Christmas Story House is a wonderful, nostalgic place to visit for those who are familiar with the movie. Even if you are not familiar with the movie its a good place to visit for a look back at life in the 40s. Visit the actual house that was in the movie as well as the museum and gift shop.

The tour was better than expected. It lasted nearly 1 hour. The guide was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer questions. One of the highlights of our trip to Cleveland. Head to the gift shop first (across the street) in order to buy tickets. If the weather is nice, get there 15-20 minutes before it opens to ensure you get the time slot for a tour that you want.

If you are a fan of the movie do yourself a favor and visit this true piece of American History.Honestly it was a far better experience than I expected. So let me say this- was never a huge fan of the movie however this was super fun!!Of course it is very tourist-y but for a great price and 3 included in the price- museum, house itself and the gift shop with about 1 1/2 hr to kill you cant beat it and really a top attraction in Cleveland. What you pay for is actually a tour. You do not wander on your own. A tour guide really makes the experience though because you learn so many new things and she has the answer for everything!A lot of photo ops throughout, great memories from scenes in the movie you may like and props that you can interact with.Would 100% recommend!

It is very organized and enjoyable for anyone who appreciates the movie. Our 3 year old was the only one who wasnt into it. This was a fun stop as we drove through Ohio. Ernie was our tour guide and he was fun and knowledgeable. Its important to note that the house is full of replicas - the actual props are located in the museum. Still, it was super fun to walk through the house. There is also a really large gift shop with a lot of various Christmas Story items. I gave four instead of five stars because there was an employee, Leah, who was exceptionally rude. We asked questions about the tour - she was rude. We bought ticket to the tour - she was rude. While we were on the tour, she came over to the house (not sure why) and yelled, actually yelled, at us to not sit on the couches. Ernie corrected her; he said that we were actually allowed to sit on the couches - he even encouraged it. Of course, she did not apologize to us for yelling. I understand that all people have bad days and bad moments, but as stated above, her attitude was just exceptionally rude.

I took my family here because it was close by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and we were able to do both without having to rush through either. We had to wait a bit for our tour to begin at 3:15, time to see the gift shop. Our tour guide was from Ontario, not sure of his name, but he was beyond excellent. He asked some trivia, some of which I knew and I was the only one on the tour who had seen the movie in the theater in 1983. With the tour being very informative and taking most of an hour, with the house and museum, we definitely were not disappointed. I told the guide it was more than I expected.

Its truly impossible to walk in here and not smile! Absolutely loved it! The tour guide told us many interesting facts and showed us around the home. The items in the home are not the actual items from the movie so youre welcome to pick up the Red Ryder BB gun and get your picture with it or pick up the famous turkey the old man wanted so bad.The museum next door is where the true gems are, orginal costumes and props including 1 of the 6 orginal BB guns made for the movie.A very nice gift shop sits right across the street and believe it or not items there are cheaper than if you looked them up on Amazon so stock up on vacation gifts while there.

If youve ever watched this movie, you will be thrilled to take a tour of this home, as well as the Museum and gift shop (both across the street). The Bumpus House is next store- its a BnB. Tour tickets are timed (buy them in gift shop). Our tour guide gathered everyone in the livingroom, which is decorated as seen in the movie right down to the gift items under the tree and of course, the leg lamp in the window. It was interesting to find out which movie scenes were film here and which ones were film on a set. You are free to roam the house after the initial background info is spoken. The tour also takes you to the backyard & shed area were scenes were filmed- then across the street to the museum. Overall, it was a great time and well worth the 15.00 cost pp.

My wife and I have been to the Christmas Story house 3 times. But...I may add, yesterday *October 28, 2021,we took my sister with us. Before on previous visits, after the guide talked about the house and different facts, they gave us 15 minutes to walk thru the house...where previously they gave us 45+ minutes to walk thru the house! It was so disappointing and my sister wasnt impressed with it because of the hurrying and the other people in the tour, she/we couldnt finish seeing it all. I guess they rush you now to get more people a day going thru now! All in all, if it stays at 15 minutes to tour the house, we will not vist or bring anybody else with us again! Its a shame that they rush you thru so fast, people arent impressed!
